This set was so, so, so unbelievably hype. The storyline, the spaghetti, and amazing combos, both players' neutrals and punish game, everything.
This set will be remembered for years as one of Ultimate's best, and the game isn't even two months old yet. I hope Leffen keeps grinding in this game.

@Zach M It's based on playing styles. Hbox is a talented player but he is boring af to watch. I've met Hbox and Leff in person, Hbox is by far the better person. Now, it's faulty bc if HBox was playing I'd be rooting for him too, has nothing to do with who I personally like. It has to do more with Melee players showing these Smash 4 scrubs some real gameplay. So, what Leff do to you? It sounds like he hurt your feelings or something...
@Zach M Yeah man and I get that. People hate Mayweather bc that fool boring af, still the champ tho. It's just preference, Hbox is boring but that doesn't take away from being extremely good and it definitely doesn't take away from Leffen. To each their own I suppose

Both players looking really unfamiliar with the matchup and honestly sometimes that makes for the most exciting to watch matches as both players take turns falling into all of each other's tricks.

There is so many moments where R.O.B. could have killed by Wadi is literally playing Mewtwo with a gyro. Not sure why he chooses to run away during a situation to shoot some projectiles when he has control of the stage. Then at 15:42 he clearly had an upair after Charizard Side B. A couple times he miscalculated the Gyro actually going off stage or forgetting it's on stage.
Those TSM chants are always hype.
This was a great set, and it was only top 64. Can’t way to see what’s up next.

Kind of interesting how he doesn't shield the laser or the gyro a lot of the time, even when they're at a distance where you can easily do it reactively.

@@SquidwardProfilePic Tbh, casters are just trying to create a narrative to hype up the game. Especially with people as deep in melee as Leffen (I mean cmon, dude got banned then became #1 for a bit), it's an easy source to add drama to a set.
It happens constantly with M2K even though he's literally become top tier in every smash game (maybe not 64, but definitely the others). It's just a fun story of "old game vs new game" that can be talked about.

falcon is a lot worse in this game. is fatality not playing him in favor of his back up link who happens to be a better character? no, once a player cna call themselves the best at any one character they tend to stick with them. wadi was the best mewto and probably shouldve switched since he was kinda getting bodied and should have tried a different approach.

It is pretty sketch but a 30 place difference doesn't exist for no reason at all
How does he know when he should switch and when he shouldn’t and how often?
He seems to use Squirtle when enemy is at low percentages bc squirtle can combo.
He switches Ivysour for enemy mid percentages and overall game play due to his balance, strength and spike.
He switches to Charizard when enemy is at high percentages so that he can get one hit kills.
He also switches to break out of combos. What the commentator referenced as switch air dodge 9:52
as often as he wants.

Can we PLEASE stop the whole 'melee players who didn't play smash 4 have a ball chained to their leg' argument. Smash 4 players have had the same amount of time and the same amount of practice with ultimate. Yes, the game has more similarities to smash 4 than it does to melee, but it's still very different to smash 4.

what's wrong with that comment? fox can kill off the top on yoshi's with upsmash or upthrow upair in melee yoshi's story at ridiculously low percents, and can recover as well as he can recover practically as well as he can on any other stage (maybe even better because of randall)
fox mains always take people to yoshis
Because stage selection is always done with respect to a given opponents character AND your own. Not just your own, and not just when youre fox. This was the mistake that the commentator made that a normal melee commentator wouldn't. Fox will take characters to yoshis often for the reasons you mentioned, yes, but there's a reason foxes will hard counter to Pokémon instead of yoshis vs Marth. Marths f smash covers about 1/3 of the whole stage, low platforms make carrying up air juggles significantly easier on yoshis. Fox also loses some higher level tech on yoshis, hax dash is much harder for example. The main reason I laugh though is because yoshis isn't a just a good pick vs certain opponents when you are fox. It's true for nearly any character depending on the matchup. It's good for spacies vs puff, it's good for Marth vs fox, some sheiks prefer it as a neutral start instead of battlefield because of gimp opportunities vs fox and the lowered edges of the stage that make it a little harder for an opponent Marth to hit tipper f smash while you're camping ledge, it's good for alot of the top 8 vs peach. So saying yoshis is good for a fox main is a super simple and flawed way of looking at it. It's more like "yoshis is a good stage depending on how tech heavy your fox is, how heavy the character you're playing against is, if your opponent is juggle heavy in character style, if your opponent doesnt just prefer yoshis for whatever reason (sheik), if you don't have a back pocket secondary that can be effective given the game 1 neutral stage you've just used to learn your opponents tendencies, and if you're not playing Marth in most cases. "

1:35 I'm so bad at smash that low tier players crush me. But WaDi def couldve anticipated that shorthop dair. I smelt it from so far away. Its literally PT's edge gaurd. And I've played both chars b4 and R.O.B couldve gone over then down and punished ivy. I'm gonna count that one as an SD. Not hate just saying. I'm still garbage at the game though lol.
