@@IrnBru18 It's not like blossoms are a new band, they've been around since 2014. There has always been talented indie bands from the UK, it never really went away, in the 2000s we've had the libertines, Kooks, wombats, courteeners, and AM, 2010s we've had Catfish & the Bottlemen, The Vaccines, Blossoms(as stated), Blaenavon, Easy Life, Sundara, Circa, Viola Beach(RIP), Sea Girls, etc. If anything I think there's been a lack of new exciting UK indie bands in the past few years, the only new UK band that excites me is Bandit, maybe I'd throw Joey Maxwell in there as well but tbh most of the exciting new indie bands are coming from Ireland, Australia, and America.
Please stop calling them indie, this is not indie, they're a popular band that sheeple listen to when they think they're being cool when in actual fact it's just lesser now pumped out pop shite
Wow, what a song. This is classic ! Along with the song "Medicine" from Dayglow, by miles the two best songs I have heard. I wish these lads the best of luck and to keep healthy away from drugs, alcohol and the monstrosities of the corrupt music industry. God Bless you !
Brilliant song from this brilliant group.I'm 65 and enjoying them so much I am going to their concert in Manchester in December.Saw them supporting Killers this year and they got me hooked.
I’m gonna post my comment here as it won’t get lost among a million others... I started listening to these guys last week...I KNOW! Howww late? I saw Tom being interviewed before Glastonbury 22 with Mel C and thought, they look different, let’s have a Google.... Sure enough, 1 week later and I’m a massive fan. I felt too old at 48 to be a fan of such a young band, but I’ve read and watched so much and I can appreciate that they’re influenced by bands that defined my own youth. I was lucky enough to see The Stone Roses, Charlatans, OASIS, Smiths, aswell as hundreds of other genres that may have ( or not ) influenced the younger generation. I thought our great 90s era was long forgotten...and one of the reasons I am so late in finding Blossoms is that I just can’t bear to listen to most of today’s crap on the radio, so I listen to what I know I love. But watching this band, it’s like going back in time. To the bands who didn’t fake their looks, their backgrounds, definitely not their accents. To when it was cool to speak like a Northerner if that’s where your roots are. ( like Liam and Noel, like Shaun Ryder and Bez...all the working class who were proud of their own determination and guts in getting as far as they did...without faking shitty music videos from directors who would tell them to do it the way that was expected ). It’s almost like the bands that I loved who either no longer release bangin tunes, or don’t have the desire they once had after decades of adoration made them complacent, have suddenly reignited their passions and started playing from the heart again. But in the form of these fresh faced, full hair headed, untarnished by the industry, sweet specimens...ok, maybe not ‘that’ sweet... but definitely still much less full of it than the bands that came before and eventually became disenchanted by the industry.....I’m sure one day, these guys might also become disillusioned with the whole thing....I read that Tom has already has his moments of imposter syndrome and what he ‘should’ be doing...rather than still enjoying these toddler years.... but for now, I hope they simply take it slowly, and just “Blossom”, if you will. There’s no rush guys. Don’t run too fast and burn out. You’re the first band in a very long time that I have seen being discussed by my peers in the same way that we excitedly swapped news of our favourite 90s indie boy-next-door-Rock-legends. Whilst watching your gigs, videos and interviews, I’ve been thrown back into a time of a life less complicated. I’ve felt like I’m 25 again...loving life, loving music, loving spending all my money on gigs and the clothes to wear to them. I’ve been transported back to the bedrooms of my first boyfriends ... listening to the bands that were so much cooler than the mainstream, until they actually became the mainstream and we could say, we’ve been here since the start! We had our lives in front of us, and the music we listened to was the soundtrack. We can say, we were here first...but so were you...and we are so here for that with you. Tom reminds me of my first boyfriend...I think that also has a lot to do with how this band makes me feel. We would recite lines from our most adored tracks to each other...and he’d send me mix tapes. And his long hair and rebellious, extroverted dress sense had me hooked. Alas, we were too young. But he was one special guy... Chas exudes the daddy-coolness of the band, Joe is like every lad’s best mate with his cheeky smile and infectious laughing, Josh is the quiet, unassuming, reliable type with a really dry sense of humour that I bet surfaces every so often in the right company...and Miles...well, I just want to bloody grab his face and tell him what a sweetheart he is and completely mother him! Just a really lovely, decent group of lads who must be making their family and friends unbelievably proud right now. You have a new fan here....and I may not be what you expected your fans to be...but I can’t wait to come and see you and be both that crazy fan girl, and your proud mother at the same time x Much love from a fellow Northerner x
