Corazan sees kid doffy with heart inside Law and that's the reason he sympathized with law.
It's like changing a kid like doffy and bringing humanity out of him. At this point law is like a son or younger brother to him.

Bro, he was missing when he was 8 and came back 18 years later as a marine spy.
It's not wrong to assume that the navy was taking care of him and he had a good childhood. Meanwhile, Doffy was in a slum in his whole childhood.

Just because what came afterwards might have been "good" for Corazon, it doesn't take away the fact that is still impressive that he didn't turn out to be evil

When rosinante talked to law for the first time about the D, corazon mentioned that doffy is already a psycho, they were both tied up beside their father..rosinante is a kindhearted person even tho people were trying kill him while doffy just cursed the people and promised that he will kill all of them.

Oda never ceases to amaze me with how he can write such amazing and deep backstories for characters in such a short amount of time (relatively speaking)

True. Along with Otohime, Fisher Tiger, Dadan, Zeff, Bellemere, Nolan, Calgara, etc etc. Honestly, all OP's backstories can pass up as a collection of short stories/one shots and I bet it'll all still be a hit.
My interpretation of Doflamingo and Trebol has always been:
Doflamingo was a sociopath, with no sense of empathy. Whether he was born that way or whether he was more susceptible to the influence of Mariejoie than his family is up for debate, but by the time he left the holy land, he was incapable of looking at anyone else and seeing a person. I don't believe he felt remorse for killing his father, or Corazon, I believe what we were meant to understand from his contemplation of the gun is his sense of frustration and confusion that anyone would betray him, especially his own family. Doflamingo's perspective on family is exposed with every interaction he has with them; he views family as people that will serve him and support him. He protects his family from ridicule outside the unit, but never lifts a finger to stop abuse within it. As long as the family serves his will, he keeps them close, so they can continue to be useful to him. He intended to sacrifice Corazon and then Law to make himself immortal, fully consistent with his own beliefs of family; they were serving him, so that was love. The same way he treated Vergo and Monet at Punk Hazard. "Die for me."
Trebol I believe was grooming Doflamingo and Vergo when he first met Doflamingo. He recognized the power Doflamingo represented as a Conqueror, and saw the hate and madness in him, and decided "This is my meal ticket" and fed him and his madness. Trebol isn't exactly the mastermind behind Doflamingo, but he is clever enough to hitch his wagon to him and give him all the support he desires. You want a servant? I'm your guy. You want power? Here's a devil fruit. You want revenge? Take this gun and kill your dad. Give Doflamingo everything he needs, and surround him with powerful individuals who can train him and develop his personal power, and make yourself indispensable to him, and shoot up to the top, protected by his madness and power. Trebol didn't want to conquer, he just wanted to be a winner, and he placed his bet on someone he believed would conquer, rather than trying to tame a monster like Doflamingo.

@@bLuGhOsT_ I still prefer the manga because I think the anime really butchered the pacing in Dressrosa. But I still love this arc regardless. The Law Corasaon flashback, however, was really well done in the anime, so I'm going to go with anime for that.

Seeing Corazon dying alone while the snow slowly covering him, and then the music, its just such a masterful scene in anime history.

Corazon/Rosinante made such an impact in such a small amount of chapters/episodes that he’s still consistently ranked pretty high in the Shonen Jump popularity poll. Even after all these years and several hundred characters. Amazing for such a character with such little screen time.
Oh I forgotten that is the second scene that melts me in One Piece, after Going Merry. God damn.
About three years ago, a poll was held around the world to find out who was the most popular One Piece character. Although there are still many characters who have appeared since the Dressrosa arc, Corazon ranked 13th. This shows just how much this character is loved around the world.

Oda is a GOD for making one piece
It's crazy how this was all planned from the moment Law was introduced back at Saboady. His surgeon of death nickname. His heart pirates crew (Corazon translates to heart in spanish, his shirt has heart shapes, and the op-op fruit is heart-shaped). And the jolly roger/flag of his pirate crew is a big smile of Corazon.
Not to mention, Doflamingo mentioned the existence of the smiles devil fruit way back in the same arc of Saboady, so Oda really planned ahead.
And that's why they are the Corazon pirates and their jolly roger is a smiling face
Laws character makes SO much sense after you learn his backstory, Corazon was his saviour but life fucked him over so hard that he's still closed up and "dark" inside

Man had 2 of the most broken backstories in one piece. He found his happiness and it got taken away from him. Law has every right to be the most hateful person in this world and aim for nothing but death. Thanks to cora he didn't end like that. He's the best guy and naturally vibes with Luffy because they are equally kind. Oda is a genius for introducing characters out of nothing and making them so likable. He kind of did that with whitebeard, jinbe, but corazon hit different

The most painful about this episode is Corazon holding his life for Law to be unheard using his powers, he held the pain until Law was safe. What an "Enough to make an old man cry"

Fans still debate about Treble’s role in Doffy’s life. In my opinion, Doffy was always going to explode. He was already on the path to getting rid of his own father. It was going to happen sooner or later. Treble just helped to make sure it happened sooner.

sheesh Doflamingo and Rosiante's father saying "im sorry yuo had to have a father like me" really hits yo, he understands at that point not only how naive he was being but just how much the celestial's have fucked with the world. Breaks my heart to see him feel guilty for even having kids let alone trying to teach them humanity while coming from such a background.

Lol you know im geeked. Geeked to a level that i rewatched One Piece 3 times and stuff. And yet im so suprised how im as a 25year old grown man cry like im 5 again due to random storylines in the One Piece Saga. Dude im sobbing here but i knew these facts before but even then im suprised how umbelivably passionate Oda was writing those characters. One Piece FR even being a Comedy-Battle Shonen is absolutely dramatic. Cried more in One Piece than in many dramashows out there.

I like how each candidate for the Corazon seat represents an aspect of Doflamingo.
Vergo represented Doffy's schemes and ambition. Rociante was Doffy's last living family member and his connection to his status as a Celestial Dragon. And Law was chosen because Doffy saw he had the same rage from being wronged by the world that he had.
Now that Vergo and Rociasnteare dead, his plans are falling apart and he's no longer welcomed back into Mariejois. All he has left is his rage.
Another top tier Flashback on the list. Congratulations on knowing the Kid was Drake, a lot of people (almost like 90% of people in my opinion) don't realize it's him

The thing about Dofy (my pov) is that he cares about his “useful pawns” , and as long as you’re useful and loyal to him, he will care for you. However everything is replaceable, except Doflamingo himself. As long as you are willing to die for him, he will let you if he needs it. But ultimately he will not die for anyone else the same way Rosi did for Law or his father begged for the people to kill him and spare his sons. And anyone who crosses him makes him snap and go scorched earth. His father gave away what Dofy saw as his birth rights? He kills him in cold blood. The celestial dragons refuse to take him back and try to kill him? He will destroy the world that they control. Rosi betrays him? He kills him like he killed his father. Because in Dofys mind, slighting him is the ultimate crime. Again, how I see his character 😅

I think the Doffy's Father and Luffy similarities are understated. Think about it, his Father was a guy who was carefree, willing to give up power to live freely amongst the people, believed in the good in strangers, didn't look down on others, and foolishly let it slip out that he was a CD. If Luffy was born in that situation he would have done the same.

Trebol is absolutely a hugely influential figure who allowed Doflamingo to become who he is today, but he's less a mastermind and more of an enabling figure who gives Doffy the power to realize his anger and fantasies of control and destruction when he has nothing; I think he envisions himself as a hugely trusted and powerful member of the family but is ultimately much less valuable to Doffy than he realizes because Doffy doesn't actually understand love and the attachment his subordinates have to him is more cult-like than anything, so he only sees them as extensions of himself and therefore defying his will/betrayal = death

Doffy loves his crew so much that he would've eventually cured Law with the fruit, He only talked about sacrificing Law AFTER Corazon kidnapped him...
