I think it's better to start at around 7-7.5 and slowly build up over time, because if you go any faster in a short amount of time, it can be overwhelming
I disagree with this, actually. You're supposed to use the game music to figure out when you're supposed to hit a note. The visual is just an aid. My guide is that if you're hitting notes inaccurately because you can't tell when to hit the notes, then turn the speed up. If you're hitting them inaccurately because you feel like you have to rush to the notes, then turn the speed down. If you're getting lots of earlys or lates, then you either need to change your _offset_ or you need to learn to hit the notes at the right time.
@danielyuan9862 Dude. I know how to play rhythm games. I'm 32 and I've been playing them since I was 14. This definitely worked for me. My offset was/is fine.

really really really agree w/ the last advice there lmfao i'm new to the game (2 and a half months into it) and i'm already about to reach 3939 songs played badge, but always get 1 miss on songs or spend 3+ hours trying to full combo one song and it just ends up frustrating me and ruining my mood 😋
when songs come down to frustrating me i try to turn it around and put it into a better light :) eg i say "maybe im just having a bad day" and take a break instead of saying "ugh i cant do this this is too hard" because you can, there are just days where sometimes you just need to break
i recommend starting at normal or hard, and once you're used to it (like it's getting too easy for you), you can move on to another different difficulty. if you wanna learn fast or smth, then go on ahead and start from hard and go to expert immediately once you get used to it. but you have to remember that it really counts on preference.
I actually came from Bandori (BanG Dream!/Girls Band Party). Can casually finish 27 songs in that game. (Not full clear). Tl;dr, got bored at the game, so I switched to PRSK. Can beat some songs, and I can finally play my fave vocaloid songs here. But it seems there's some new techniques I need to learn since the Master of Copycat, I have to literally cross my fingers, and that's the only thing from keeping me from doing a full combo.
you don’t have to actually cross your fingers you kinda just stop at the middle and continue with the same finger if that makes sense? just keep each finger on one half of the screen the game does track which finger is doing which thing.
Thumb player is much harder to FC, but I started as a thumb player myself when I first tried mobile rhythm games. I suggest you put your phone on a surface with friction so your phone will not fly away, for example, the back of a mouse pad.

hey what advice would you give to improve speed. I can fc up to 29, but can't for the life of me do the fast 30s. Is it just a matter of using 4 fingers more, or is there a way to improve speed as well?
I’d highly suggest you to try the easier level 30s first, then work your way up to the harder ones. Highly recommend you to do the older level 30 maps as they are generally easier (most of them are just fast in speed but not that technical).
Idk I managed to FC most 30s except Stella. I even managed to fc a few 31s (Identity, I nandesu, Earth's Final Confession, Mikansei Sanka) and just one 32 (TEO). All of which with 2 fingers

@@InDstructR op already mentioned quite a lot. it's just practice a lot but don't grind for too long. i like to warm up my fingers first by playing easier expert and master maps before going for the harder ones I also pay a lot of attention to the sounds of my tapping to make sure everything is on beat with the music some of the harder maps can be a bit spammy or technical. for the spammy ones you really do have to practice and be faster. for the technical ones you need to be able to learn to read the technical patterns and be accurate with some of the smaller notes

It's great that you created a beginner's guide to the game, but I have some comments I want to make: 1. 0:57 I feel like this is a common misconception. Playing at a faster track speed does _not_ mean you're more skilled, nor does playing at a faster track speed necessarily help you improve faster. There is an optimal speed that depends on the difficulty of the song you're playing and what you're aiming for (FC, AP, or just a good performance). So it's not "you should increase speed because it helps your skill". It's "having skill means playing harder songs and/or having different goals which means you should _change_ (not necessarily increase) your speed". But even if you are trying harder songs, changing your speed might not necessarily be the solution. It takes time to get used to a speed, so it's hard to tell whether changing a speed helps/hurts you. At the end of the day, it's the other factors that help you improve. 2. 1:56 I disagree with this. You want to increase your note speed if you're having trouble with timing the notes due to their slow speed or if there are too many notes to distinguish their timing. You want to decrease your note speed if you constantly feel like you have to anticipate the next note because it's far away but approaching quickly. If you're getting lots of earlies or lates, either you need to change your _offset_ or your timing is simply off and you need to correct it yourself. 3. 3:08 For new players, you can start at hard mode, but I recommend as a principle to start with easier songs and move up if you feel like it's too easy. So I recommend starting with normal for new players. Easy mode charts are very basic and boring, so I do not recommend that except maybe as your very first rhythm game level. 4. 3:15 I slightly disagree with this. I firmly believe in APing easier songs. But I also believe you should try harder songs as well, even ones you can just barely pass. It's not about your performance, it's about improvement. Additionally, It's good trying to FC and AP songs of the right difficulty in order to improve your focus, which is an important skill in any rhythm game. 5. 3:37 To add to this, I think rhythm game levels have three different types of difficulty: speed, technicality, and (un)readability. Speed is how fast the notes are going. Technicality is how tricky it is to play a certain pattern of a chart. And readability is how fast you can process the notes in your head. Master charts tend to be less readable and more technical than expert charts, while hard expert charts get most of their difficulty from their speed. So a Master 28, for example, would be very different from an Expert 28. 6. 4:19 I agree with this, but not for the reason he explained. As I said in my previous point, songs have different types of difficulty, and you can get good at one specific type but not the other types. That's why you should play a diversity of songs in order to improve all three skills at the same time. Playing a pool of diverse songs is also good because there might be some skills that I'm not aware of, but if you're playing lots of songs, you're bound to encounter one that helps improve that skill.
I have question, I had to change the offset to 3 or 5. But before, using 0 was the best idk what happened, that's why I had to change it. I keep getting greats and sometimes my notes don't even register. Is there any advice u could give me please thank you.

@@nanamacapagal8342 please teach me your ways. I actually made a bit of progress since last week tho, was one off fc for Bring It On(30), and two off for Positive Dance Time(31). Still not fast enough for the intense voice expert, but I've definitely gotten quicker!
@@InDstructR op already mentioned quite a lot. it's just practice a lot but don't grind for too long. i like to warm up my fingers first by playing easier expert and master maps before going for the harder ones
I also pay a lot of attention to the sounds of my tapping to make sure everything is on beat with the music
some of the harder maps can be a bit spammy or technical. for the spammy ones you really do have to practice and be faster. for the technical ones you need to be able to learn to read the technical patterns and be accurate with some of the smaller notes
@@nanamacapagal8342 yes! It’s a game of practise, practise and practise
Did this guy really just say 9.0 is a STARTING POINT???
So after 5 minutes of reconsideration...i have come to a conclusion that this helps with combos...my bad yall
i’ve used this video as help when i was stuck at lvl 24 and now i can full combo level 28 songs 🤯
I got my first full combo today! :D
(I play mostly all hards)
Edit: i got past my first expert!
Edit: i got my first master!!!
I don't have the fast and late flick
But still managed to full combo so thank you VERY much
I’m a new player, and I use my thumbs to play. It’s easier for me, because I’m so used to it. I tried using my other fingers, but it’s hard. I’m currently using 10.3 speed and I almost full combo Iffudoudou on hard mode! I’m trying expert mode, and it’s a harder, but it’s getting easier every time I practice!
‘If you’ve never played a rhythm game start at 9.0’
BRUH, ProSe was my first rhythm game and despite trying I couldn’t for the life of me play 8.0 speed at first. Started just by increasing by 0.2 at a time and slowly increasing difficulty, until I’m finally playing 25s on 8.8 note speed 2 months later, and plan to keep slowly going up when I can handle it 😅 I think you overestimate rhythm game newbies
Dude just made me get full Combo that quick.
Nah, let's ignore full combo-ing on expert, how do you even survive there?!
This was a very good video despite being a year old. I just downloaded this game 2 days ago because I like some of the characters and wanted to try a rhythm game to play. I’ve been trying to beat expert Non-Breathe Oblige but still only made it to the end once and died sadly 😅 Again thank you
4:17 I NEVER KNEW THAT if i wanted to fc any songs i would just log in and replay that same song for 50 to 100 times in one session just so i can get consistent but i always end up disappointed with myself 😭
I never comment on videos but I just want to say that when I followed his advice I got my first full combo on my first attempt
I’m stuck on lv 27 expert, these damn spammy notes always get me!! (I can fc a few,but i struggle w the rest)
I am so bad at anything that takes coordination or rythym. I can't even do easy songs on 1.0 speed😭😭😭 I want to play so bad but I just get angry at how bad I am after a while. I am heartbroken truly.
1.0 is SUPER hard to do, so don't be sad about that! I'm really sorry, though.. I wish I could help you
I play expert and master and I can’t even do 1.0 on easy i can barely tap the note
yall use 9.0 speed??? im on 5.1 😐
edit from like 5 minutes later: i just changed my speed to 9.0 and immediately got a full clear....ok
Try 10.5. It's waaaay easier for me. I think it'll work for you too.
Thanks for telling me nicely that I am addict who can now clear some of the 28 lvl songs 😭
I USE NOTE SPEED 5 BECAUSE IT BEING FAST OVERWHELMES ME
I love project sekai as much as i suck at it-
Thank you so much for the guide! I'm a very new player of this game and I have a hard time Full Combo-ing songs...
I think I'll do your advices.
As a person who has 302 as their highest combo this will be great help for me
My friend who is thumb expert and recommended me pjsekai game and said the normal speed is 10,8 •_•
But on 1 week i can mastered it and trying 10,9 - 11 speed using thumb
It's great that you created a beginner's guide to the game, but I have some comments I want to make:
1. 0:57 I feel like this is a common misconception.
If u put ur speed lower do u get lower rewards?
Just stated playing last week and I was able to full combo 2 hard songs!!
I cant find the late/fast/flick, is it because I use English server?
Sorry, it's not out on English server yet!
Yes , it’s not in English server yet 😔.
Currently at 9.5 speed and might try to increase the speed more in the future.
bro im literally struggling on 26 expert ☹️
I’m struggling on difficulty over 30
i used to be stuck on hard mode for like 2-3 months before trying expert, and now i can fc most expert songs, if only i moved onto expert faster
I have question, I had to change the offset to 3 or 5. But before, using 0 was the best idk what happened, that's why I had to change it. I keep getting greats and sometimes my notes don't even register. Is there any advice u could give me please thank you.
I think it’s mostly a device issue. I would suggest you to tune down your graphic setting to lowest.
I am a rythm game player i played osu for like 2 years when i started pjsekai i was like " i dont wanna start low i wanna start high " so i played intense voice expert and got 2 miss 3 good on it
I use 11.5 for hard mode when I was still in Rank 10..
Thank you so much for the tips !! (*´﹀`*)👍
And for people who wanna start master mode I suggest songs like Jack pot sad girl
😁
Anything but todemo wonders
I want to smash my screen because of that song
how do i practice playing with 4 fingers? it makes level 30+ wayyy easier
that’s what i want to know too😭
3:36 before i wws a new ppauer wnd i already played a few games so i jumped to hard and expert , 2 months later, i gone to that lamp looking thing and put on somg lvl and went to the start, making my way to unlock all songs on master
I can’t even master normal mode for most songs 😹 I be getting “good” on easy notes it’s crazy
Neko reviews I would like to ask you if you meant not to play to much everyday, or don’t play to much of the same song, this was the perfect guide I couldn’t find any other guide until I stumbled across yours so thank you.
As someone who is kinda new to Project Sekai (and rhythm games in general) my entire strategy for getting better is bullshit my way to success. I play at 7.0 speed on hard mode and I just bullshit my way to success. I do co-op mainly so I’m able to not be able to choose what songs I do, I don’t wanna do the same song over and over again. Do not be like me, do not bullshit your way to success
Could u make some pro tip because now i can pass all lv31 song without using healer and can pass all lv32 with healer and 33 by luck lmao. But now i stuck at a wall cant make any progress in lv34 i cant make any progress for a month now.
I think it mostly because the note are hard to recognize
Yes, that's certainly on the to do list!
@@nekoreviews well somehow i just unlock the disappear miku master lol
1:20 i understand note speed 8 & 7 WAY better even though its dense cuz im better at reading then reacting cuz of other rhythm games
give this man mad respect at the beginning 💀
im crying trying to do the end of hatsune miku, intense voice of hatsune miku, and machine gun poem doll on expert.
The thing I started playing on 9 speed but I was too impatient to move point by point so I jumped to 10 speed and tortured myself with random songs until I could do it
i struggle with getting high scores than C
That's not a problem with your rhythm gaming. That's depends on the talent from your cards.
0:55 "9.0 is good for beginners"
Me who is not beginner and Play on 8.0 beacuse 9.0 is too fast
For me: for beginners tryb 5.0 and when you think you want faster keep add +1.0 and next +1.0
Thanks for the note speed part
I watch this video 2 weeks ago and now I have mad skills rank 6 and 25 ap on master for madder skillz
I hope the best for my journey! Also I started at rank 79 and now I’m rank 82
by the way, you can flick down as well
I can’t also recommend 6.3+ for beginners it’s far better and less overwhelming than 9.0
I found my very very first project sekai account on EN today .. all the cards are so old , but I still want to restart that account again because of the amount of Nene card’s I have there . But it’s very frustrating since newbie me played all songs and didn’t even fullcombo one song , and I cannot look at these golden thingys .. Now I have to full combo 300 songs 🤣 .
eh, I just started and I struggle a lot on easy dificulty with a speed of 4...
4:20 - dang.. he really called me out.
I full comboed metamo re:born, Idsmile and love me love me
