- Ninety-one percent. That's the share of Greater Cincinnati commuters who traveled exclusively by car in 2014, according to the most recent community data from the United States Census Bureau. That’s a bit more than 900,000 people driving to and from work more or less every day.
WCPO reporters Pat LaFleur and Emily Maxwell spoke with individuals who choose to be car-free in Greater Cincinnati and what motivates to do so.

Good for you all. I wish we had a better a biking infrastructure in US.
Thank you so much for this video. I’m considering moving to Cincinnati. I’m legally blind but, I can at least bike at my own pace. I have a toddler but, the reality is I can never drive again
I’d love to do this but the lack of bike lanes is kinda scary at times.
Andrew Nascimento this. I almost had a heart attack when a big truck honked at me.
Loving bike life
Where I live, a small town, the busses do not run on the weekends and they don't run before 6 am. My work is in the next town over, so it does not always work so well. However, I don't have a driver's license, so I try to make it work to the best of my capability. I really don't miss having a car though. It is hard to get a date.
Ride a ebike. Just a additional option
pretty hard core through the snow.
That's hardly slow, try riding in Montreal in the winter
Yay! for bicycles! : )
A man after my heart. I love 18 degree's 20 t0 50 degrees is my favorite. Bot I love 0 t0 60 too.
While I still own a car I'm using it very little, cycling around 200-300km per week using the bike whenever possible instead. Buying a suitable bike changed everything for me. A Tourer with everything, heavy, slow but practical as hell and comfortable. I don't mind taking longer because I'm having fun outdoors as many mentioned in the vid.
I love living car free but I prefer using transit, Uber, etc. I don't mind walking....but not in the snow lol
Urban design in our country is vastly different!
oil that chain!
Where is this neighborhood
Wonder is this still active
I have run into friends while riding a bike doing errands and they have offered to drive me home. Which was nice but a little confusing. Do they think I'm out on my bike because I have no choice?
Good luck
doggy feets cold
bike in snow, wouldnt you lose traction, with all those black ice?
You can, you just have to be careful. It's worse hitting ice in a car imo because you're going much faster.
Why does it have to be black ice? You don't call it white snow?
Poor doggy looks so miserable
Excuses to go against fast and comfortable.
Cincinnati is the last city to not have a car if you can afford one. You see what color all the people are. Privileged.
Cars do speed things up, started skateboarding to work I feel so much more relaxed.
nice man, Used to to same thing, but would always get wheel bite. watch out for wheel bite with those pesky little bits of gravel or small stones. They can turn a cruise into a cruising for a bruising . With a bike atleast stones to suddenly jolt your wheels into locking up and stopping brutally.
What's that white stuff on de ground? ?..🚲..
Snow?
