@THE OLD TURTLE DEN - by Tonight's Top Movie Moment I don't know if many noticed on the 1st TMNT film, but Leo actually cut Shredder twice, but it was only focused on the arm cut. After the arm cut and Before Shredder hits Leo on the face, Leo swipes Shredder again on the back on the same side of the arm. Also if you look at the stock footage you showed, Leo and Shredder rehearsing that exact scene and showing where Leo is supposed to connect. You can see the cut on the arm and on the Back of Shredder in the film as well.
The scene in the first film when Leo is sitting alone in the woods meditating is so affective. The scene is so short and simple, but it says so much about his character. On another note, this film had some amazing cinematography. The use of light and shadows was incredibly impressive... just beautiful.
I recently rewatched The Secret of the Ooze, and I can't believe I haven't noticed this before... but Leo gets pissed off so easily in that movie. He is not very patient with the others, like he is in the first movie from 1990, where he also makes it clear to the others that he is not "a great leader" or "perfect" in any way. I really like that about him; that he stays grounded despite having so much responsibility for the others. On the other hand, it does make sense that he easliy gets upset in The Secret of the Ooze, because everything feels unstable for them as a family and Leonardo therefore feels like it his responsibility to make the situation better (such as finding a new well-hidden home while watching out for their many enemies) - just surprised that I haven't noticed that sooner. Oh, and great video, I like these profile videos a lot!
1:45 - Look how stupid they made him look. Those movie makers didn't realize how much us kids appreciated detail.. Jim Henson's workshop got it right on the first film. The same workshop couldn't possibly have worked on part 3.
"We have had our first battle, Master Splinter! They were many, but we kicked... but we fought well." Comment on what is you're favourite Leo quotes from the film Trilogy.
Are you trying to prove that there is a huge audience who would love a fourth movie and a true sequel to the original film? You're doing a great job of it.
Leo looks the best in the 1990 movie imo. His face and mouth have the best animatronic articulation. After Splinter is kidnapped and they show up at April's apartment, she opens the door and says "What's wrong?" Leo looks up and says "Splinter..." The articulation of his mouth is perfection. It really looks like he's alive and the emotion is excellent. This has always been my favorite movie... EVER.
If you listen to the scene were Mickey attacks shredder, the scene cuts to Casey saying "sounds like you're boys could use some hel..hey where did he go?" Talking about splinter...during that scene you can hear it's Mickey fighting the whole time, meaning he last just a little longer than anyone else. Also when they train on the farm you can see they are all surrounding Mickey meaning at least at that moment he's defending against all three
Leo has always been my fav turtle but I feel he always gets short changed due to the more dynamic personalities. Writers are always too focused on making Mike funny and zanny, giving Donny some techno babble stuff, and Raph an attitude while never exploring the ideas that Leo is a focused leader and the best martial artist of the 4.
Yes, I *very much* enjoyed this Turtle profile. I used to think Leo was lame, but with age and knowledge, I appreciate them so much. Donnie will still always be my favourite though.
I was 3 when this movie came out, and didn't get as into it until I was in elementary school, but I remember being disappointed in it's sequels. When I was like 7 and 8. Just goes to show making a "kids movie" isn't an excuse to ignore character development or important movie beats.
My all time favorite turtle. I love Leonardo so much and the first and the 90s trilogy is a big part of that. While the next two were subpar and mediocre respectively. They still played a huge part in shaping my love for the Turtles. Especially in Leo case. I hope you do a profile on the IDW and 2012 Leo, along with the rest of the turtles. Love this video about one of my favorite fictional characters.
I'm waiting for Donatello's video as well. I know Mike's video will be entertaining as well. I grew up as TMNT fan from the late 80s into the 90s,and I consider them my brothers-in-comics.
Really looking forward to the next movie character profile. I've been on UA-cam since its conception, but only this year started subscribing to anyone. Out of the 15 I have, you've become #16. *_Turtle Power!_*
I think Leonardo was the right one for the leader. He has the most dangerous weapons out of each of the turtles, katanas/Japanese swords. And they're the only weapon carried by one of the turtles with a sharp edge.
Yay, the 90’s trilogy! To this day, the original TMNT movie is my all time favorite out of any TMNT film. Question: with these bios, are you planning to touch on the Next Mutation turtles or is that still something we don’t talk about?
Lol…so I’m binging these trilogy videos and just started to feel a way about the intro…we’re here bc the outside world rejects us? Lol 😆 excellent use of the shredder line
Excellent profile for my favorite turtle! Leo all the way! Can't wait to see more man! Yes the first tmnt movie had the best character design. Makes me wonder if Jim Henson studios weren't involved in the 2nd and third movie because of the design changes. The first movie nailed the design. My fav by far. I also prefer Leo's seriousness in the first movie. Seems to match his personality the most. Thank you again! Long time turtle fan!
I'm actually watching the 2003 teenage mutant Ninja turtles cartoon series while I'm watching this video. Plus when I was a little kid had a pet turtle and I name them Leonardo.
Leonardo has always been my favourite Ninja Turtle. Am I the only one who thought Leonardo's snout looks like it's squashed down in the second film? It always bothered me.
if you listen closely during the fight with shredder Michelangelo seems to last a long time against him off-screen (right after he and Donatello match to see who goes next)
I know you already did the memorable moments video but. Can you please do a film essay that takes time to examine the third one as a whole? I feel like I'm the only one who likes the third movie. Yeah, there are some problems with their cheap looking suits, and yeah, it didn't have any famiar villains; but I know there are some positive aspects. Like Mikey rescuing Yoshi from the fire and Raph being like a mentor to that kid.
I like how Leonardo looked in the OG 1990 Movie. When the filmmakers design the looks of the Turtles for the New TMNT Movie Reboot and Live-Action Netflix Turtles Series, they should take inspiration from the 1984 Mirage Turtles, OG 1990 Movie Turtles, 2012 Turtles, 2013 TMNT: OOTS Game Turtles, and Injustice 2 Turtles. I prefer the first 1990 TMNT Movie and I want the Live-Action Netflix Turtles Series to be connected to the OG 1990 Movie so they can fix the two sequels and get it right when making episodes. Like you said with two actors that were playing Leonardo, I want Seth Green to voice Leonardo while the Actor is in the suit for the Netflix Series. Including Greg Cipes voicing Michelangelo while the Actor is in the suit. I want Naomi Scott to portray April O'Neil in the Live-Action Netflix Turtles Series. And the Netflix Turtles Series should be like DC Universe Titans Series.
I like the fact that he’s more ‘book’ smart and speaks with a true American 🇺🇸 accent, like a news anchor, compared to the ‘street’ smart Raphael with a thick NY accent
I have a question about where the ooze came from, only in the 90's turtles movie the factory is called T.G.R.I. but after those movies it was changed to T.C.R.I. why is that?
I liked the Leonardo costumes that were made for the first and second films, mostly because they were developed by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. I wish the look of the costume that was remade for the second film had been reused again for the third film too.

1990 Turtles all the way!
They were perfect.
Amen. They're the best version of the TMNT.
@Noah Callanan I just threw up in my mouth reading his name..... mihael.... ugh i did it again
The scene in the first film when Leo is sitting alone in the woods meditating is so affective. The scene is so short and simple, but it says so much about his character.
On another note, this film had some amazing cinematography. The use of light and shadows was incredibly impressive... just beautiful.
Leonardo is a natural and definitive leader. He is someone to look up to. He is like a younger version of Optimus Prime.
Leo has been and always will be my fav turtle. So thank you for making this video!

Jim Henson was great in making the turtles costume. From facial expressions and so flexible when the stuntman does acrobatics.
1:45 - Look how stupid they made him look. Those movie makers didn't realize how much us kids appreciated detail.. Jim Henson's workshop got it right on the first film. The same workshop couldn't possibly have worked on part 3.
@GoldenStateOfMind - Part 2 was better than 3, but part 1 is in a league of it's own.
The first tmnt movie is the Dark Knight Of it’s trilogy, I wish they would have kept that dark style, they were really on to something.
@@OpTiC_DaD the OG TMNT movie needs a true sequel to it.

That…. I can agree with. Leo seems to be the one being made out to be a stone wall with no interests or anything whatsoever. Poor devil.

Michael Bay Turles movie had the best Leonardo personality ever. He's more series and focused more and take this role as leader way more series

Great content man. It's awesome how you always dig up these facts that arent commonly known. You obviously do a lot of research.
1990's Leonardo looks very real, there's a pic with Mr Jim Henson and he looked so alive as Mr. Henson.
Surprisingly I saw a Turtle on the road today but it wasn't dead and someone went and helped it, nice analysis
I think Leonardo was the right one for the leader. He has the most dangerous weapons out of each of the turtles, katanas/Japanese swords. And they're the only weapon carried by one of the turtles with a sharp edge.
The turtle maze game on the first dvd is one of my fave all time games.
art of war by sun tzu? I'd think that his favorie book would be Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi

Leo always been my favorite since a kid
Optimus Prime, Garnet, and now Leonardo...
I must have a thing for leaders 😝🤷
Wow! I really enjoy watching your videos.
Background footage of the shredder fight amazing
That's so cool ty for showing us the background of the tmnt
1:10 iirc Michaelangelo is supposed to be the most naturally talented of the turtles - but he doesn't train as hard as the rest cuz he's so laid back.
Leonardo has always been my favourite Ninja Turtle.
Am I the only one who thought Leonardo's snout looks like it's squashed down in the second film? It always bothered me.
I never watched the first one but i did watch 2 and 3
And that's why Leonardo is the best.
you have a good point about Leonardo having the best shot on the shredder Michelangelo I think put up the longest initial fight
they should make a rated R ninja turtles and stick to the comic story line people would prob love to see that
In best Leonardo voice- "This was AWESOME!!"
I'm also watching tmnt 1990 right now
if you listen closely during the fight with shredder Michelangelo seems to last a long time against him off-screen (right after he and Donatello match to see who goes next)
I would have LOVED to have been a suit actor in the original TMNT movie!
Leo's mask was a light blue color in part 2 while in part 1&3 it's medium regular blue
The third movie is still better then the Michael bay movies.
