Omg I loved the stories during this recipe. Black people are the world's greatest story tellers! Keep passing the knowledge and history down. Hearing your voice, humor and inflections brings me comfort. Thank you ❤
My mother used to tell me a story about the chickens that they kept in the yard when she was young. If they were having chicken for dinner, my grandmother was outside with a big butchers knife looking for a chicken for dinner and that night. She also tells me about this one rooster they had that used to Chase the housekeeper all the time. The recipe looks very interesting, my family never made corn pudding. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I look forward to all of your holiday recipes. Kathy.
I really enjoy your videos and love stories especially about Southern women. We have always rocked!! I will pass this recipe along to my grand daughter who loves corn. Thanks for sharing
I love corn pudding but even more so I love the stories about how we got these food traditions into our families. Thank you for sharing your family's traditions so I can make them part of mine.
I use this recipe even today. My mother taught me, and I am retired now. She learned from her mom. They are both gone now, but I have beautiful memories... priceless.😊
I absolutely have to try this! Your corn pudding looks Soooooo good I am hungry watching lol! I also enjoyed hearing about grandma Lucy! She reminds me of my grandma, she was super clean and we learned to be the same as we grew up, married and moved on! Such nostalgia that I feel sorry so many of today's youth don't get that 😢 my grandma was the softie and grandpa was stern but loving lol! Thanks so much! ❤❤❤
The way that pudding was jiggling had my mouth watering! I usually only use frozen corn in mine. I like your mix of fresh corn and creamed corn. I use half and half and the last few times I've made it, I added condensed milk instead of sugar. It helped with the custard-like texture. My grandmother did a mix of sugar and corn syrup, and that was always good. I've made it sweet and savory too, with peppers, onion, herbs and garlic. I love it all, and yours looks divine! That whooping story had me rolling, with the sensory depravation dress chamber.😂🤣 Of course your Mom was running to her Grandpa first. Grandma lucky she got any hugs after that.🤣
