As a Dutchman, who is also fluent in German speaking, reading and writing, i am always confused when they switch over to Swiss German, because i cannot understand anything of it, LOL! Bavarian is also difficult, but at least i can understand something of it..Love the professionalism of these pilots. Friend of mine is a 1st officer with KLM, first on boeing 747's and now 777's, I have so much respect for him and what he has achieved!
Being a pilot is gonna be awesome. I could feel the pressure to keep the flight on a safe and smooth route after departure and at the same time the ATC had to clear the path for arrivals. The last part just had to look like a love story😂😂😂

Flying is the safest way to travel statistically.
I know how you feel. The only way to really make peace with it is really knowing how things work. Once you do, you'll realize that in order for the whole thing to actually go down, a lot of things would need to go south. For example, in a car you'd probably know you wouldn't just bore low up, and that way of thinking would get even stronger if you were to know how bad things really needed to be in order for a failure like that to happen, which would make you calmer.
same for me, hyperventilation, sweating, crying, panicattacks and so on, flying is great XD

Jezze Jeb, Sorry about your experience on Swiss. As far a giving Swiss another try? First, mechanical failures happen and they are unseen, so I cut some slack there. Even though my favorite thing about flying, and could be favorite of everything, is that exact moment when you become airborne! So it is tough for me to wait through them! Unprofessionalism by the flight crew is another thing entirely. I just got to wondering. Shouldn't the flight crew have seen Kilimanjaro once or twice before? But I digress. The flight crew, in my opinion, represents the airline. In fact any employee interacting with the public, in any business, is the face of that company. I would do some research to see if this was a fluke. And speaking of fluke, that sandwich? looked like it might have been fresh sometime around 2006. Thanks so much for sharing your travels. I enjoy them immensely. Happy trails!

Jesus de las Moras The Captain is actually a pilot with a high position in Swiss. Maybe you could write a letter to the Swiss headquarter in Zurich and ask them for a autograph. Maybe it works.

I'm fairly old but adding it up I've spent about 2 1/2 years of my life in the air and not a scratch or ever any issue! I'm much happier with air between my feet and the ground!

Would someone explain why the word "heavy" keeps coming up in ATC communications?
Heavy just refers to an aircraft above a certain weight, it helps ATC regarding separation between aircraft, A340, A330, 787, 747 etc are heavy, 737, A320 etc are not. You would need to google the exact figures.

Wesley Melis Jennifer is saying it’s better in the green area on the screen because of the storm, she’s saying going through the red area on screen would not be good. They’re just talking about the best area to go through to avoid the storm.

Would anyone please briefly explain to me what are PACKS or PACS you hear the pilots mention in their checklists? Thankyou.
they turn off the air conditioning packs ..generally on engine 2/3 during takeoff to conserve power ..still have a/c for the plane during this time...

You can think of packs as two big fans that supply air conditioning to the cabin. When they’re on you’ve got air. When they’re of, no air conditioning. That simple!
Some correctness needed here regarding some comments. The question was regarding the word Packs, which is short for PACKage. The PACKage is a series of air compressors, heat exchangers, flow valves, and associated bleed air ducting that makes the air cond Pack. There are no FANS (as we know fans) to provide flow. (older aircraft did have a fan for ventilation, called gasper fan, but has long been removed)The flow is the flow that comes from the engine bleed air, and it's controlled by the PACK for flow and temp. If you listen as you fly and have the air outlet open overhead, the flow changes as engine power changes. Previous responses were somewhat correct, but not what PACK was, which was the original question. On this take off, they are both off at takeoff. #1 pack comes on at thrust reduction (climb) and #2 pack usually comes on at flap retraction. Airbus philosophy is to go with packs off at takeoff when possible. The system is highly technical in design and function and a technical explanation is beyond the cope of these comments. Hope this helps.

Critical take off weather, so overcast and the skies are much more blurry and dusky than mediocre . It noticed that as pilot monitoring nav screens were packed with comonblous clouds or C. Bs avoidance were made before intrepid or perforation into the storm . Aviation was my life dream and my pretentious and aspiring covet that was not accomplished because the deteriorative fiscal conditions and the truancy of mentorship education that I gained because of behind scale syllabus those I taught . My parents had no idea how to prop me up and brace my fervent desire . I love them all they had nothing to do with my agony .Its the fault of my statehood education system .... I'm now 41 years and it spiraled out of control my desiderstion and hone over to piloting became as propping and spectacle it from far fetched place ...

I don't know why but I find it very soothing when pilots go through their checklists
holnrew it is very reassuring to hear professional and competent pilots go through checklists, I agree. Maybe people who fear flying would benefit from watching these Swiss professionals as they fly the plane.
