We were massively impressed with how the Mk III handled itself throughout our adventure but where would you take the E-M5 Mk III to test out the low light limits and push the weather sealings?
I'm pretty sure that was the idea when Olympus sent them a bunch of cameras and on an adventure. Not sure if you noticed but there isn't one single compromise or weakness pointed out. Outstanding promo video, but do not mistake this for a review.
Well I've watched a few reviews on the em5 iii and all I can say is WOW yours is the best! You guys certainly gave it a real world test - amazing and inspiring images!
Wow, while the others across the Atlantic went to see some cowboys and listed some specs, you actually took the time to push the camera to its limit. As someone who loves hiking and rainy environments, this was actually the review that made me consider purchasing the EM5 MKIII. Congratulations!
Wow! This is the best review yet of the E-M5.3. It seems like everyone is whining that the camera doesn't do everything and why is Olympus charging money. You went out in conditions I'll never see and showed it works great. Thanks!
I’ve watched a ton of reviews on different cameras over the years and this is simply one of the best! This is so underrated considering the incredible real-world test and accompanying photography which is just as impressive! 💯✨ Subscribed 👌🏻
Well this was a breath of fresh air! One of the most, if not the most, impressive camera reviews I've seen. Real world testing scenario with real photos and video coming from both above and bellow ground. And very good photos and video at that. You're also a very good reviewer to listen to, calm and informative and the entire review shows what the m43 system can do! /Rasmus
By far the best camera review I have ever seen. You certainly put the EM5 mk 3 through a thorough work out and the results look amazing. For the price the EM5 mk 3 has to be up there with the best. I must have it so I'm saving for it now. Well done.
Outstanding review. You don't get any more real life than grubbing around in an old mine, Tyrolean Traverse in a waterfall for crissakes. Just the fact that the camera and lens survived the adventure is amazing. The IQ just doubles the appeal. What a great camera. This from a GFX 50S and X-T3 pilot. I might get one of these for some of my stormy landscape adventures where I don't feel like lugging a tripod. Thank you for sharing!
What a great review! Thank you for showing us around on your adventure, such a passion in shooting all the unique sceneries you just filmed. You deserve an applause and my time to leave a comment💕 this review outstand all the reviews i've seen for this specific olympus model. Finally made a decision to go for it. Thank you
Thanks for doing a great real life look at the camera - these are the conditions it should thrive in and where the size and weight message really comes through
One word. Bravo. The photos speak for themselves. And in such a challenging environment. This is just what this camera needed, a challenging test showing what it is capable of. And not someone sitting in a woolly cardigan in a studio talking for 45 minutes about specs and sensor sizes. That stuff died about 2016. The future is unfolding before our eyes and Olympus is right in the centre stage
Thank you - that was an excellent review. I’m an avid fly fisherman and have decided to start capturing some footage of the beautiful places I fish to share - I think this camera is going to be perfect for me.
Simply an outstanding real world review. I think I've watched all the others, but yours is the first that makes me want to perhaps trade up my E-M5 MK II for a second body to my E-M1 MK II. Well done, indeed. Thank you...! (Subscribed)
I'm impressed with your real hands-on demanding test and it seems like the EM5 mark III is very well specified and should provide great image performance.
Excellent review. As another poster mentioned this should be used by Olympus. Seeing the low light results was uplifting as I am upgrading from the original e-m5 for better low light performance.
I have read people complaining about the sensor size and the image is going to have more noise in low light. However, the photos in your video looks amazing.
Hi Ivan, like I said in the video I really didn't expect to be left with any usable images from inside the mine and the E-M5 Mk III has really surprised me with its stills and video quality! Not what I would expect from this level of camera with a micro four thirds sensor. Hats off to Olympus 👍
Don't listen to pixel peepers. They need to get out more and take photos. Or better still go down a partly flooded mine like these guys did. Those who can, do. Those who can't post complaints and rumors to the internet.
Probably the best video of four that I've seen on the EM5MK3. Shame about the white balance on the outdoor shots taken by the camera used to record footage toward the end of the video.
Thank you....we certainly didn't want to give it back to Olympus. Take a look at our in-store roadshow dates where Olympus will have a demo unit you can get hands-on with - bit.ly/31nA3y8
Nice video. What were the ISO and other (aperture/shutter speed/frame rate) settings for the stills and videos shown? If it's possible for you to superimpose that information in your video, that would be very useful, in my opinion.
Im impressed by your footage in the cave, im having a trouble shooting indoor dim light with em5m3 notably sharpness and noise. Can you share some tips shooting indoor.
Thanks for a very nice review. One question - at 1:05 you say that the camera has a faster readout speed. Do you know what the readout speed is? or how it compares to the E-M1 II? As far as I know the EM1 II readout spped is of 1/50th.
I can't believe it was shot on the new E-M5 mk III If it was, I think that camera is the best choice for such difficult environment. Small, light weight, quite tough and capable with good results. Nice video review, btw.
Wales looks like a great place to visit. I am going to do some research and plan a trip there. If Wales doesnt suffer from England's acid attack problems, I will look at booking a trip to Wales. Looks like a beautiful country.
My apologies if I did miss this in the video (was enjoying the scenery maybe more than the chat!) but you should mention which lens you used... I finally got it in the shots of washing the camera, haha. Awesome review, just so much fun to watch. My only query is about battery life - other reviewers are far from complementary, claiming barely 300 shots to 1 battery, so who is right or wrong??
Hi Andrew, really pleased you enjoyed the scenery, it was truly magical. Throughout the video I bounced between the M.Zuiko ED 12-40mm f2.8 PRO and the M.ZUIKO ED 7-14mm F2.8 Pro which I really fell in love with! The underground shots were all taken using the 7-14mm. Battery wise I can only go on what I experienced over the few days I had the EM5 for but I found I continued shooting far beyond the quoted amounts.

Awesome review.. been watching sooooo many vids on what camera I should buy next and been thinking of the Sony A7RIII and leaving micro 4:3 but I don’t want to change a whole system might stick with Olympus after this
I'm just getting into photography. The little bit of research I've done has pointed me to this camera. Some of the features I'm looking for are weather sealing, on the lighter side as i do a lot of hiking. Would this be a good first camera? Or are there others out there to check out? Thanks.
Hi Greg, there are of course other cameras out there that would suit a beginner, best bet is to pop into your local branch and they will be able to guide you through a few different items. I would say however that the E-M5 Mk III is a very easy to use and extremely capable camera for many different environments of shooting. Good low light, great stabilisation, quick focusing and burst shooting along with that high res mode and 4K video capture. Find your local store here - bit.ly/2nxhWHc
Amazing review and amazing location to push the camera capabilities..i think it is the time for me to uprgrade from EM10 mark 1...cheers from Indonesia 😊

Olympus cameras offers unmatched features at the price of their cameras. Wondering why they need to sell of the technologies they have developed. I just want to see them alive in future.
With the high burst mode shooting and from the tracking / focus speeds we found whilst using the E-M5 Mk III I would say that yes, it could very well be used to capture birds in flight.
The camera is a great travel camera or as a every day shooter with a host of primes and zoom lenses. This camera will not replace any of my full frame cameras, that being said their are many places where a full frame is not necessary and the compact size makes it easy to carry to places where a large camera is not the best option.
Great video even if you are a cave dweller. The lens obviously has a lot to do with the shoot and I would have likes a bit more info about that. The pro lenses are the only weather ones so that needed a mention. I am amazed at what you got at F2.8 in the dark and im looking at the 25 mm 1.2 pro so that should be stonking.
Hi John, yes I was surprised too. I took a massive amount of images and videos throughout the day inside the mine, as I am sure you can imagine, and I ended up with around roughly 550-600 stills from that day on the single battery (which died pretty much as I returned to where we were staying).
ATG says the Olympus EM-1 X Kim II will be out just like the 1DX Mark III before the 2020 Olympics. A 50% reduction image vs 1/1 image sensor. Olympus, Panasonic & Fuji still have to lie on their 50% reduction lenses to make us do the math by 2X factors.
I doubt there will be another E-M1X for a couple of years. Its only just come out this year. I have one and its by far the best camera out there. Sensor size makes no difference at all. The stabilisation and 60fps and true best in the world weather sealing is amazing. I very happily left 'full frame' for the E-M1X. I cant ever see myself leaving Olympus now.
Yes, great, but still a plastic camera. Olympus, in an attempt to save weight, by a few grams, they have gone from a solid metal camera to a plastic uninteresting camera. Bad move Olympus.
You forgot to mention that there should not be the slightest movement in the frame when shooting in high resolution mode, like foliage in the wind, birds, insects etc. It ruins an otherwise sharp image. Although I tend to believe the O-MD E-M5 MkIII is an interesting compact camera You sound like an Olympus marketing shill who simply cannot find a single drawback. I don't trust reviews of that gushing praise quality.

It's not a review. It's a promo. BIG difference.
Oh my god you did a review when caving! That’s very very hard as I tried caving once before, I can barely pull out my camera because it’s too muddy.
