Great video! Very informative! That's the beauty of videos like yours, you show the toy warts and all, and call out the problems. Most RC sites "love" the truck so they don't offend current or future sponsors. MotionRC now has them in stock...so your video is helping me form an opinion. Not seeing much on parts support, and leary of being stuck if something breaks. At leats with my RC trucks, there is so much parts support as well as upgrades. Maybe if the construction toy market gets bigger, there would be better support.
Thanks for the comment Hugo... My aim is to help other RC fanatics like myself make informed decisions and sugar coating my experiences wouldn’t be helpful to anyone... Thanks for understanding that in my videos. To be fair to the WLTOYS Model 16800... I bought another one from Banggood and it looks like it supposed to and is working perfect. My son and I really enjoy playing in his construction site with it. I believe that the vender I purchased the 1st one from at the TOMTOP.com site was a bit shady!!! I originally wanted to buy from Motion RC but they didn’t have them in stock. They are now in stock at Motion RC and I would trust that with them you will get what you pay for. And if there is an issue I would assume you would have more support from them than what I received from TOMTOP.com. Thanks again for the comment... Nice vid of plowing the deck!!! Great to see you getting the kids outside mate , like when we where kids. I bought the WLtoys Dump truck. I felt for the price point your getting a cab not just blackened plastic , and some other little details which I thought made it the pick of the cheaper dumpers. The only thing I found was one of my dumpers lost its little headlights then stopped working. WLtoys are know in the RC world for using lower quality ESCs and some poor wiring. Is the 16800 Excavator better then the Hunia 1580 , my opinion on that question is NO it’s not, for a number of reasons the V4 Hunia has an upgraded mother board, the model is all metal, superior fine details overall, bigger better designed bucket, the controller which is basic is showing the machines battery levels it all adds to a better model. In Australia the 580 is a 700 dollar machine. The presentation of Hunia’s packaging is outstanding. I saw a review on the WLtoys loader which had a problem with its articulation gears, your excavator was missing stickers and had a broken gear. I went with Hunia for my machines , 583 loader and 580 excavator nil problems they dig well and work well ( touch wood). It can’t just be the flash packaging that creates the difference in price point of WLtoys version , Toprace , Tongla which is a considerable amount between the models really. Has the price point difference got to do with better components, quality of wiring. I think the WLtoys 16800 is way better then the plastic Hunia 1593 . But my opinion is the 580 is the best entry level hobby grade excavator before stepping into the hydraulic models. End of the day it’s just my opinion if your getting enjoyment doesn’t matter what it costs or what brand. It would be interesting to know if Hunia are the designers and have licensed to other companies ie Tongla has the Hunia logo on its box. Thanks for posting your videos nice to see Dad and kids playing in dirt instead of sitting in front of an iPad.
Hey Radio, Thanks for the comment! Yes, like when we were kids, all fun and very little stress!!! It is so much fun sharing this awesome hobby with my kids! I agree 190% that the 580 is a much better machine but when you compare the price point you can't beat the WLtoys for what you get!!! The one I reviewed in the video I purchased during the pandemic on TOMTOP.com and I think I bought from an unscrupulous vender trying to make $$$ during the pandemic!!! I think I paid 200 for it and TOMTOP.com refunded me a percentage which I used to buy 2 new gear boxes (when the boxes were available), so that one is working now. I also bought another WLtoys 16800 excavator from BANGGOOD.com which came packaged nicely, has all it's design features and ran perfectly straight out of the box... Check out my video where I compare the 2... Here is the link... ua-cam.com/video/7k43g7rD4qc/v-deo.html. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for so I knew that the WLtoys Model was lacking a bit. I researched many excavators including the 580 before I bought the 16800 and my main reason for buying the WLTOYS model was my son... I wanted to give him something that works well but I didn't want to pay triple the price until I knew that he could control it and that he enjoyed playing with it. I think one of the biggest issues with the 16800 and the 580 is the Main Drive Gear that is made of a very cheap medal and brakes on both models after some use, I know how the model is used and the stress it is put under has a bit to do with it but a stronger medal would be good. My son and I have recently got hooked on crawlers and in the spring we are going to use all our construction vehicles to build a crawler course where the constuction site is now. LOTS OF FUN COMING UP!!!! More vids on constuction site and Crawlers. Thanks again for your comment and your kind words about playing with my kids. If you haven't subscribed please do so!!! Same issues as with the 580/1580. The low quality sinter metal is not strong enough. These gears increase the torque too much making the drive train go broke at the end.
same thing mine just did went about 4 feet and stopped pulling on the left track and i did get it from motion rc ....did u get urs going and how if so ?
Thanks for the sub and the comment. I did get it going… unfortunately when I repaired mine I couldn’t just buy the drive gear by itself so I had to buy the whole gear box/motor assembly… you will need to solder the motor leads. Hopefully by now you can buy the drive gear by itself. But if you just bought it maybe MotionRC will accept a return for a working one or if they have the drive gear they can send you one.

The WL Model Averages between $200 and $300! So, to get a great working powerful excavator for an average of a $300 savings, the WL Model Excavator is the WINNER, hands down!
