Great stuff, love this style of reviewing a full video tape. The joy of old tape recordings is you don't know what you're gonna get next. That Millennium Bug robot made me laugh out loud.
These mystery tapes are definitely something - it's fun to swing back and forth between so many different topics like this, so I plan on covering more from my collection in future!
Here for 2000 Cartoon Network! Between 1998-2002 this channel was never off my TV. Back then it was more than just a kids channel, it was a channel for cartoons. From the promos to a variaty from then fresh cartoons along side the legends. The channel got me interested in animation history and Toonami introduced me to anime.
I loved all those Christmas specials many from Hanna Barbera and Rankin Bass.
If I had your CN archive from around this time I'd be watching them constantly. The channel at that time meant so much to me and if it was like this now, I'd still be glued at 32.
Side note I love Angela Anaconda!
It certainly felt like the best era for the channel where old cartoons were mixed in with new ones, and you got a better sense of the art form through the times, so I feel much the same way when looking back on this time, as opposed to when Cartoon Network became purely focused on new shows and lost a lot of variety as a result. I probably wouldn't be as interested in animation if I hadn't been around then!
I actually remember seeing angela annaconda on tv, not on fox kids, but nickelodeon used to air the show in the early 2000s in the us
I'd normally say a Christmas VHS tape of cartoons wouldn't be a bad thing, but if that film strip is of any indication, Angela Anaconda is included and that show is terrible 🤣
The Bravo/Morraco Mole bump was actually a spoof of an iconic Coca-Cola Super Bowl ad, where a kid gives a football player a Coke and gets his towel in return
Ah, okay - that one went straight over my head, for some reason.
I love these types of videos going through random vhs tapes, so I'm excited!
This is definitely a good one!
This is another banger of a video
I love seeing cartoon network recorded tapes being covered on this channel
To each their own on angela annaconda i enjoyed this series quite a bit
Mainly because of its creativity within its premise
I also like how the art style mimicks the school yearbooks that comes out at the end of each school year
Courage the cowardly dog is a classic and another banger of a cartoon network show
If you get the chance, i recommend watching nightmare ned this series in my opinion is my favorite cartoon frm disney especially since it was the courage the cowardly dog of the mid 90s (the pilot of courage was out by that time though)
Angela Anaconda certainly seems to be a polarizing show, to say the least, and one that people either like or loathe. And I've never heard of Nightmare Ned before, but if it's similar to Courage, that's probably a good indication, seeing as Courage is one of my all-time favourites.
Angela Anaconda, that name sounds like it's a weird vegetable. Courage is so worried for his owners I love him but EUSTACE CAN GO KILL HIMSEL- This video was awesome! Hope you do more.
Thanks! Wish I could have talked about Courage a lot more, but maybe next time around. 😁
Haven’t watched Robot Wars in years, BBC2 was amazing on a Friday night back in the 000s.
That was the perfect after-school line-up on a Friday - two episodes of The Simpsons and Robot Wars. Glad I have some recordings to preserve it. 😁
Are you gonna upload Heat N of Series 4.
I'm pretty sure it's been posted multiple times, not to mention being available in HD on Mech+. 🙂
