Do you dream about perfect scouts and well executed timing attacks Arty? Or are they nightmares, wifetosis and kids all speaking in SCV or zergling sounds?
The medic is actually tied with the marine for the best pathing ground unit in the game. You just have to understand their AI about what makes them follow, and the fact that when they are done following (because they have healed the unit that they are following), they will return back to the last place you ordered them to be. RT just forgets to put them on follow or HP so they start following SCVs and such, or he forgets to give them a command when he wants them to follow, and they end up walking back into the sunkens where he last ordered them to go. It's really not that complicated.

In artys defense I've dealt with dragons so much easier then medics. Medics have a mind of there fucking own. It's the only unit in the game that does it's own move paths.
Nah. Even tho Arty is right most of the time beneath all the raging and shouting, this claim is clearly over the top (midly said). In reality:
Medics: they're like your gf in a shopping mall; she will stop at each shop to look in but at least will start moving when you drag them. Goons (or hell, even goliaths): you're happy if they don't crash into the mall emergency exit after they stood in the middle of the lobby for a minute, salivating, scratching their arses and pooping on the floor.
@@FerencDojcsak When I was playing SC1 I had zero problems with Goons or Goliaths. Issues that people have with these units were a mystery for me until I watched some on UA-cam :)
@@FerencDojcsak medic, goons and goliaths all have problems, and they are all the same. SC1 unit pathing is garbage.
Goliaths and goons suffer because they are large. if you try to funnel units through a path (like a ramp or choke point) in starcraft the units in the back of the line or hell, whoever isn't 1st in the train will see that another unit is "blocking" them and will repath to god knows where, typically in the opposite direction of where they were commanded to go. this is what causes most peoples frustration with OG starcraft. THIS is what made starcraft essentially REQUIRE 300 APM (especially in high ladder/pro play). to stop or mitigate this terrible repathing, you have to spam move or A-move to make them drop their repath mechanic and do what you told them to actually do.
medics are unique in that they will move to heal nearby units that have been damaged, but they still use the shitty pathing that every other unit does to accomplish this extra task they can perform "autonomously"

I mean everybody is entitled to have their favourite hated ai pathing, I have no problem with that, but claiming that medics (which are at least responsive) are soo much worse than terran mech twisters or goons moving aimlessly around (which you can clearly see time to time even in pro games) or freezing for seconds is just beyond me.

I'm with him. Just WATCHING zerg makes me rage, let alone playing against it. Mutas every damn game being OP and obnoxious as hell, then defilers being the most broken possible unit. el oh el Dark Swarm aka the ability with almost zero counterplay, wow much skill. We're super fortunate there aren't more good zergs like Soulkey and hero or we'd have ZvZ finals every season.
zerg is the strongest faction but i wouldnt call them op, most terrans dont build wraiths or valks, and most importantly skip acadamy which is a big mistake because firebats counter zergling pressure. as for defilers, science vessels irradiate, as a terran player you have comsat free scout any defiler shenanigans and irradiate them. Zerg is strong but there are tools to counter them. But yeah mutas are very annoying and plague.
what's the counterplay for irradiate

there is no counter play for dark swarm. irradiate doesnt stop dark swarm from going down or kill the casters until much later and dark swarm makes zerg invincible

never though of that, but best strat is to just comsat and the irradiate, zerg may be the strongest but terran literally have the tools to deal with their casters.

I dont understand artosis complaining about unit pathing in this game, like bro you chose to play broodwar, not starcraft 2, there will never be a moment in sc2 where you will need to spend 15s microing a scv to build a supply depo
Yes but SC2 sucks and is on life support nowadays. This is why the number of premier games in SC2 have been decreasing while BW have been increasing
Blizzard keeps cutting funds from it because the audience keeps shrinking, Artosis has covered this in the past

Artosis finally coming to the realisation many of us came to years ago. Yes, BW is old, it's not balanced, the pathfinding and AI is shit, and it takes 20 clicks to get your units to do something resembling what you actually want them to do.

Exactly dude. It's a well known fact in the international gaming community that BW is incredibly imbalanced and badly designed. I'm guessing that's why there has never been a pro scene worth anything. And if there was, obv Terranwould never win due to being so underpowered!

It is balanced. That's why we have tournaments for the last 20+ years now (GSL, ASL, SSL, Europe and USA also had a tournaments few years ago). It's just a very hard game to play pvp.

Been telling him since he started streaming broodwar just watch him cause playing it is awful lol. Spellcasters always been busted in blizzard games. In warcraft 3 they just overboard with units that hardcountered them (spellbreaker, destroyer etc)
Observers and science vessels should make units see through the swarm.
Or raise energy requirement for dark swarm or something. That is kinda cheap.
