Came to listen to this masterpiece tonight after hearing of Mr Diabaté's passing. 58 is so young. Now both of these African giants are delighting Heaven of their magical music. May both of them rest in peace, forever in music 🔥🩷

@Jerome Artis There is no true human. Since we no longer can say we began here or there . We are finding that we popped up from all over nearly at the same time. We can not trace our species back 150,000 years and even further. The oldest pyramids are 10s of thousands of years older than what once thought Finding bones incrediblely old dating hundreds of thousands of years before the oldest ones found in Africa
I was born in America but my grandmother and grandfather were both born in Burkina Faso. My mother made sure my siblings and I were well aware of who we truly are. My spirit is dancing with my ancestors 💜💜
When two African giants meet, it becomes nothing more than a musical ecstasy. Ali Farka Touré plays guitar and Toumani Diabaté plays Kora. Strings straight from paradise

This music is some of the most amazing and beautiful I have heard in my life! Is an expression of greatest humanity and civilization and culture. There is no amount of colonization or ignorance or psychopathic rulers or lieder that can change this. I am white and never lived in Africa, but I feel a deep connection and happiness when I listen to this music, because this Mali singers touched the deepest of my soul and create in my such great happiness. Thank you so much Ali Farka and Toumani Diabate for sharing your music around the world!!!

A delightful and intoxicating breeze sweeps through my soul as I listen these two pyramids Ali Farka Touré and Toumani Diabaté. As usual, tears run down my cheeks. I increase the volume to almost max. I close my eyes of gratitude and humility. Thanks Ali , and RIP Angel.
Heavenly! A typical job done by two giants from Mali showing how far music is beyond the concept of culture, thoughts, borders, politics..... any sects in general.
To me it’s one of those pieces of music that you could show to almost anyone in any part of the world and I they would be able to connect with what is being played. A lot of great music doesn’t fit that category, and it’s okay to be “niche”, but isn’t there something super cool about music that is nearly universal like this? It does make me feel inherently more connected to the rest of humanity, knowing that even if I can’t communicate with someone else, we would both be able to find some form of shared commonality by both finding beauty in the same piece of music. Sometimes it takes a while for my ears to get used to a new genre of music, but this is instantly communicable. It’s a shame that more people (at least from where I’m from) are ignorant of Mali’s musical legacy. Even if you’re not a fan of more traditional stuff, there’s so much progressive talent in the modern Mali music scene that it would be hard to not find something for anything to appreciate. I read that the family myth of Toumani includes that he is a 70th generation Kora player in his family. Amazing to try to visualize that length of family lineage sharing, passing on, and evolving a musical ability on a shared instrument.
Viva Africa 🌍. Puertoricans are a mixed race of Taino Native, Spaniard and African. Looks like God gave me a little more African in my ears and the beat of my heart to enjoy this. God bless them and their beautiful music.
I'm not African in any way, shape or form. I'm about as white as it gets, but music has no colour, only culture and this is beautiful. I can already tell I'm going to be listening to these guys a lot. If anyone's got any recommendations for similar artists i'd love to hear them!
Look for this magnificent group of musicians: 3MA - yes that is the groups title and astonishing music; when they play their string instruments it’s possible that a lot of is improvisation and just an instinctive feel for what each other is playing.
A leader is also someone who knows that he can join himself to another one to get something strong and consistance. Father Farka was one of this Leader and Father Toumani is still working on that Leadership. AFRICAN POWER
I am Indian originally but I feel I deep rooted in Africa. This music gives me tears, beautiful.. Legendary. I see that African American folks here have lost this originality somehow.
