Adding the 🌶️🌶️🌶️ is a nice touch, I need to try this - thanks!
Yes! I also add ginger rounds and additional "seed" spices. A favorite is black mustard seed.
I made this on day 1, on day 3 I ate them all.
I am the same way. I make them about once a month, and add them to everything! Cottage cheese or fresh-made potato salad especially.

I can't wait to try them 😋
😂
All the ingredients are good but if you add thyme and oregano it will bring it to the next level.
Trust me.
I make them without the sugar. Will try the pepper, thanks
For some reason onion and garlic give me a high lol ! I love them so much raw or cooked !
Eating them raw maybe gives you that same kind of “high” that comes with eating REALLY spicy foods lol
Ginger definitely does that to me. Try ginger lemon shots.
😂😂😂😂
i love pickled green mangoes and cucumber. Also carrots.
- Quick writtrn recipe for personal use, just ignore -
Water 1/2 vinegar, sugar, salt, seasonings/aromatics (E-Italian, peppercorn.) Boil.
Thinly slice onion, crush garlic, jar. Pour brine overtop & let sit
Is it a cup or half of a cup?
@@Deebo99The water/vinegar ratio seems to be 1:1, so you’d use a full cup of each and yield 2 cups of brine. I was likely just halving the recipe, but even if I did only use a 1/2 cup of vinegar, it still turned out great 👍
Those are gorgeous.
Love ur pickle receipe
TY! i put it on EVERYTHING!
Great video!! Thanks!!
THANKU FOR SHERING🇿🇦
I made them, they taste so good just after 1 hour 😭

Pickled red and green peppers are the best
Perfect!
How long does it last if yoy put in the refrigerator?
Looks yummy
Put recipe in description, I don't go to third party sites
You can just eyeball the amounts with the onion, garlic, jalapeno.
As for the vinegar, use a vinegar that is labeled as 5% acid. You can dilute equally with water if you dont want it to be strong, but pure vinegar will do a better job of preserving. She boiled her vinegar before adding it, which will allow the onions to be ready in just a couple hours, but you can also just use room temperature vinegar if youre willing to wait at least 24 hours. Store in the fridge and it'll be good for at least a couple months.
Not sure if she added sugar or salt, you can if you want but its not necessary, but hey its up to you if you want to try it.
What are the measurements of everything
Very tasty!! Made it for the first time this weekend :))
Doin this now just checking in to see again
Deliciousssss
I bet they’re delicious!!!
It keeps well in the fridge, so make bigger batches if you use it often. I like it even better after a week or so.

That’s what I’m trying to find out 😭
Of course you can.
Both are fine purple tastes better in my opinion.....
No brine recipe?
I need the recipe. How do we know the amount of water, vinegar salt sugar to glass
all recipes + measurements are on my site: olivia-yi.com. you can search "onion" in the search bar and it will take you directly to the recipe
Annoying hey. As if we're going go to a website and search. Defeats the whole purpose of UA-cam.
I call click bait.
@@Zeus-rq5wn I don't like this, either. It is a thumb down.
How long do they stay good for?
Also want to know
3 weeks
Where is the recipe listed?
you can find it on my website! costcokitchen.com
Why would you bring apple cider vinegar to a boil? You just killed all the beneficial compounds in ACV. Just bring to a warm temperature so the salt dissolves and then add the vinegar and add it to the onions.
What are the measurements for the ingredients?
INGREDIENTS
1 large red onion thinly sliced (you can also use white or yellow onion)
1 serrano pepper thinly sliced
4 cloves garlic peeled and smashed
For the brine
1 cup water
1 cup vinegar plain or apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tbsp salt
1/2 tbsp whole peppercorns
2 bay leaves
INSTRUCTIONS
Add all the ingredients for the brine and stir gently to ensure everything is well mixed. Once the mixture comes to a boil, turn off the heat and let cool.
While the brine cools, slice your onion and pepper and peel your garlic. Add all the ingredients into a jar(s).
Once the brine has cooled, carefully pour into the jars. Be sure to leave about 1/2" of space at the top. Seal and allow everything to sit for at least 1 hour or overnight before serving.
Enjoy as a garnish or topping on sandwiches, burgers, eggs, salads, etc.
Is there any reason you can't show the receipt here, I am watching you here, don't send us somewhere else 👎😵🇨🇦
Your brine still looked hot. So do I wait for the brine to completely cool or can it be hot?
It can be hot
we're to store them
What's the shelf life ?
Google
This is an Indian pickle called sirka pyaaz, commonly served in households.
@@proxy6226 Sorry if I came off as entitled, I meant to say we Indians eat this on a regular basis and it's called sirka pyaaz, the spices used here are a little less compared to the traditional one's we eat. I didn't intend to claim the dish....my English is bad
@@Apoorva4102 omg Im so sorry, English is not my first lenguaje either. I'm Mexican , sorry I was rude
Mom jalapeños w red onions.
Sugar ??
That's what I thought, I never add sugar to mine, red onions are sweet enough on their own.
I never boil just salt pepper and onions, cucumbers
Enjoy photos
"Let it cool"
Then adds hot liquid
Now I am confused what to do
The blandest brine out there omfg 💀
No probiotics, right?
Done
Word
If using raw apple cider vinegar add when the liquid has cooled and you'll keep all the good bacteria 👌
I got sick doing this
I love mine with boogers! 😂
बहन हमारे यहाँ इसे सिरके वाली प्याज़ बोला जाता है और इसमें अगर आप चुकंदर डाल देंगे तो आपको साथ में लाल रंग भी मिल जाएगा वो भी नेचुरल
lol the way you’ve edited the audio is like you’re constantly interrupting yourself
