The thing is, I don’t have a problem that Brandy caters to smaller people, it’s that they don’t advertise it like that, and just say “one size fits all”. Plus size stores advertise as a store for bigger women, while Brandy doesn’t and just acts like they have the average size. They also only have one size, while plus size stores have many. They could make so much more money even if they just went from like and xx small to a size 2 or 4, so I don’t understand why they don’t.
I totally agree!! I think there’s nothing wrong with having a solely tiny/petite clothing but PLEASE let these self conscious young girls know that this is only one body type out of so many different bodies!!
There is a youtuber called Kristen Leo who is sometimes a little clickbaity but talks about issues like fast fashion and addresses that ethical elephant in the room.
@@charin951 because their clothes are trendy/low quality hence why she called it fast fashion. They don't have longevity or high quality to stay in people's closets for long
She doesnt' really seem that brave or badass tbh. It seems like she's very salty that she had to experience the briefest moment of discomfort by not fitting into some clothes that were too small. And because she's one of the global elite, she gets to make a youtube video crying about it.
Alpha _a7 it really isn’t, i don’t starve myself or feel the need to change my appearance because of them or whatever it is they “promote” people nowadays complain for everything. It’s nothing brave, there are a couple thousand of vids like this online
What is “healthily skinny”? Skinny refers to a body size and healthy refers to a diet. Wether someone becomes skinny by being healthy or unhealthy they would still be the same size.
Their stuff is trendy and everyone wants it so even knowing they are two white men (assumingly white and probably old-er, too) won't stop anyone from purchasing. Edit: turns out they were a kid and dad duo. Which, seems worse. The overpriced clothes are Italian-made.
@@dm8678 Yes but then why brand yourself as 'one size fits ALL'. I would be totally fine with not fitting their clothes if they had changed their branding and were genuine about just catering for petite women, but they don't do that.
no it's not tbh. I'm a healthy 16 yr old and their damn pants are still too big on me. I agree that they should say their clothes are made for smaller people, but it's not okay to cancel an entire brand just because some ppl don't fit in their clothes. Just go wear something else
@@cyverbunny well the thing is that they practically only sell clothes for a specific body type. like @C VH said with their “one size fits all” marketing. i personally know what’s shes saying because with an eating disorder (in my experience) you keep losing more and more weight until it’s “enough.” it’s a mental illness, reaching the end goal i had was and would have never been “enough” for me.
@@cyverbunny it’s not canceling the store but the fact that they’re glorifying that one specific body type by selling only one size, hiring only very specific employees, ect. to me it adds on to society’s strict standards of one type of beauty.
@@cyverbunny I don't cancel them because I don't fit in their clothes. I don't care about that (anymore), I can find other nice clothes. I cancel them because they advertise their clothes as being 'one size fits all' instead of 'made for petit people', which I find disingenuous, misleading and honestly a bit questionable. Why do they do that? What idea are they trying to sell with that kind of advertising? Because that's how brands work, they sell you an idea. All brands do that. (I mainly cancel them because its fast fashion tbh, but that's a whole other story.)
I knoooow. A tiger's body is so much more beautiful than a human's. If we don't do exercise we look disgusting. If a tiger or a cat doesn't do exercise they still look amazing.
they used to say one size fits all they just changed it recently, like 2-3 years ago. All of my older pieces have it written on the tag and i remember it being everywhere on their website
@Smile Mahi with shein you could get one pair of pant and top in brandy you can only get a top that's not even full lmao and only a spoiled overprivileged shits say you're too poor for not able to afford a 25 dollar clothing which I guess is you
The first time I ever noticed that I was a bit chubby was when I went to Brandy Melville for the first time. Everyone's so skinny there and if you don't fit in, you'll get stared at. Clothes were too small for me, and the dressing rooms didn't even have mirrors! I had to come outside to look at myself, only to see how hideous I looked in those small clothes. I felt so humiliated while standing around all those other pretty girls. I was 15. This day triggered something in me, causing me to still feel insecure about my body even at 21 now.
aw I want you to know you’re beautiful no matter the size of your body!! you are gorgeous & stunning. I don’t care how big you are or how skinny others are I know your beautiful inside and out!
I DUNNO NAN MOLLA do you know about how much you weighed when you were 15? i’m 15 and my friends want to go shopping and try on clothes with me this weekend but i’m kinda nervous because ik they love going to brandy. i’m not overweight but i’m just a little bit bigger than them and i’m afraid that we will be trying on brandy clothes and i’ll be embarrassed because i won’t fit anything and they will
@Lil Chicken There are several problems with Brandy's approach, including the fact that they ostracize people of color. It's great that people who are petite (including myself) have a place to buy trendy fast fashion pieces, but no one should have to suffer just because of who their target demographic is (skinny white girls). A lot of people who aren't in this demographic are made fun of and taunted by Brandy workers because management actually tells them to do so. I visited Brandy Melville's US website and found that there is only ONE girl of color on the entire website (I checked September 2019) I will be updating this comment later
Ikr like my friend went in and she wanted the job but they said they weren't hiring. I heard the manager ask another employee what race she was. The employee said that she was asian and the manager told her to tell my friend that they weren't hiring even though they hired another girl on the spot...
@@anenawww if you watched the whole video it mentions that the owner of the store ( which is 2 white 60 year old men) you’ll hear that this person describing the story says that they only hire white teenage girls. (If not white, just girls with white people features)
people keep saying “but there are plus size stores” okay but brandy currently is trendy and its targeting teen girls. There are girls who want to fit in so they use unhealthy ways to lose weight.
Tamy Mondragon also people seem to forget that plus size stores always offer a range of sizes. Like you never see a plus size store that has just one size, they usually go from 12/14 to like 22/24 or something like that. BM doesn’t do that, so if they were trying to cater to “slim petite girls” they would still probably have like xxs, xs, s or something like that. Also petite in fashion means short, and Brandy is not really a store for short girls, it’s really just a store for skinny girls.
janiah bramble but it’s not a healthy one if they’re losing too much weight just to fit into clothes, and those clothes encourage teens to have body image issues
janiah bramble ah yes, succumbing to the aesthetic and ideology pushed onto young girls from a very young age and subconsciously manipulating them to feel bad for their bodies and to want to join an elitist, exclusive group of the group deemed ‘pretty’ to be accepted is totally their choice. yes. it’s not as if the brand targets TEENAGERS with ages that have the highest rates of developing EDs instead of skinny/petite women. no. it’s totally the girl’s fault. it’s the fault of anybody who develops an eating disorder, or wants to fit in, or wants to be able to wear the clothes their friends, idols, and influencers wear. it’s totally their fault. where the fuck do you think that thought process stems from?
not every girl is ‘plus size’ though. a lot of girls are size 6/8 so if there is a shop that only caters to size 12+ , what is the issue with having a shop that only caters to under size 12?
i’ve found so many dupes at goodwill for half the price, but girls would rather shop at brandy melville because they depend on the exclusivity to validate themselves.
The alien in your backyard your probably not fat it’s just that society makes anyone who isn’t a size 0/Xs ‘fat’ and this is coming from someone who is Xs or size 0 or whatever sizing you use
i like how there's a bunch of influencers who say that they would never shop at brandy and don't support them yet they support them by buying their clothes like wh- 🤦♀️
brandy isn’t my style at all but when i do go in with my friends and i see how devastated their faces look if a pair of pants does t fit them it breaks my heart
It wouldn’t be bad if they actually called themselves a shop made for really small women (the equivalent of a plus size shop) but they are just encouraging it, that really skinny is how you should be...and that’s make it disgusting
brandy is my least favourite brand i’ve ever encountered. i went into brandy with my tall, skinny, blonde friend and she got compliment by workers as soon as she walked through the door and me, short and chubby, was completely ignored. we went into the changing rooms the girl working there looked me up and down and it made me feel like shit. i didn’t fit in any of the clothes and i’m a size 8(uk). i felt completely judged the whole time i was in there and ill never go back.
since when is anyone considered chubby at a UK size 8? I'm a size 8 as well and people consider me normal to slim. I'm also pretty tall, so that might be different
why would any one think that the thrift store doesn’t have better clothes than brandy or couldn’t have cute clothes at all??? sounds kind of elitist on your part js
@@dm8678 Its not a petite store... they have called themselves "one sizes fits all" for the longest time also their clothes wouldn't fit all petite girls
@@dm8678 it is not a petite store, real petite stores have more than one size. the company lacks diversity in size and race and only hires and almost always showcases the societal beauty standard (tall, slim, white, pretty) which plays with the self esteem and self image of teenage girls across the world. is this a brand you really want to support?
healthy reminder: clothes are meant to fit you. you're not meant to fit into them. if a S is too small go get a M, it doesn't matter, you look good no matter your size I promise🤍
qui a roma brandy è andato molto di moda nel 2014 insieme a subdued, ultimamente molti negozi stanno chiudendo anche perché alzano i prezzi per roba che puoi trovare su internet e molto meno.
noah ottomanelli your comment makes no sense at all, the girl in the video literally said she felt so insecure bc she couldn’t fit in those pants. It fucks someone’s body image, we think we are not “skinny enough” and that makes a lot of people (not even girls boys too) feel like shit so yeah think before u type something
When she said "when you walk in to the store and you're skinny and pretty you're pretty much hired" i felt that on a next level once i walked in to a brandy melville store and the girl/women who worked there litterally asked me if i was interested in working there i was in the middle of an eating disorder and i was insecure as hell
that’s awful :( they perpetuate those harsh standards, like the video said, slightly underweight and white/white looking I hope you’re doing better with your Ed, it must have been really triggering
@@cookiemonster7099 Happens all the time. The run way models are supposed to be hella thin, so they hire MEN. Men do not develop like women - go figure. Keep in mind these are the *same* designers that put plastic swimming pools on top of their heads and make them look ridiculous. It's for the rich to laugh at. Nothing more.
yeah i agree i have to admit the concept of exclusivity and "fitting in" sounds a little intriguing but i don't own any of their clothes because 1. i have conservative asian parents, 2. i think they look cheap and 3. not rly my style anyway
B. KCee They aren’t talking about body positivity. They are talking about the fact that small is a fashion trend. Being small is prettier than being average weight even when people are trying to stop that from still going on. It triggers me and many others including OP, and they shouldn’t be criticized for feeling bad about their body because of brandy melville and plenty of other ‘skinny brands’
B. KCee Yep I was completely right. Your downplaying my and other problems. Sure ours aren’t as dire or common but it’s still horrible. Skinny girls don’t feel self conscious and wish they were plus size, you are forgetting the point that this is what causes people to develop anorexia as a coping mechanism
I’m glad that Abercrombie turned their brands around though. I would have never been able to work for them back then because I take a large/xl depending on the store, and I’ve been with Hollister for about a month now and it’s an amazing work environment:)

Yes! I used to fit into their tops size-wise but they looked weird because my shoulders were too wide... I also have a rectangular body shape so besides (at the time) being skinny for my age/height, I could never wear their pants.
brie1n1crackers even from madewell- a more sustainable (but not perfect) brand a white t-shirt can be around 18. If your gonna spend money at least try to support something more sustainable
Everyone is worried about the “one size fits all” part, but I’m more concerned about how you have to be white or have “Caucasian features” in order for them to consider letting you work there.
It is an Italian brand. Italians are caucasians. They are likely looking to create the 'Italian' image. This would not be seen as a problem if it was an african brand wanting their models to have african features, or an asian brand wanting asian features. White cultures are the only ones that 'needs diversity' or is shamed for creating a 'caucasian' image. Apparently, it is empowering for every other culture in the world, because it 'celebrates their culture'. But white cultures are called all sorts of things if they do the same. Same goes for size. If they want to make clothing of only a specific size, let them. There are many other brands with different sizes, who makes awesome clothes. I don't understand why people are so obsessed about body size. It is about proportions and posture, not weight. Every single body have the potential to look its best, if it is well taken care of. Some body types look their best tall and lean, other body types look their best with an hourglass figure. There are different ways to be beautiful. People need to stop worrying that not every piece of clothing is going to fit/look good, and start figuring out what compliments their own features the best, and bring your their own beauty; not someone else's.
@@HereIAm247 First of all, that's bullshit. Let me tell you why. If the store was really based on Italian aesthetics, why wouldn't their clothes reflect that? Their clothes are basic fast fashion and their store interiors don't reflect an "italian vibe" either. Also, since when were all Italians, skinny and pasty? Cuz last I checked, Italians from southern Italian are very tan, like almost as tan as me and I'm black. Why? Because they're in the sun constantly. Are all Italians skinny? Not the last time I checked. Italians also have differing a wide range of features. There isn't an Italian nose or hair color or eyes. Italy isn't a homogeneous population like say, Norway. So for the love of God stop using that as an excuse for Brandy's discrimination, colorism and racism. Cheers.
@@nena2250 And? Whats the problem? The same way there are brands who produce clothes only for bigger girls, Brandy produces clothes only for skinny girls. Anddd? Stop being triggered for fucking everything. And if u are bigger ... lose weight ffs
But the fact is mass production of one size is far cheaper and easier, and that way they don't have to consider how the clothes will look on different sizes or body shapes. They wouldn't be any richer because let's be real, their main demographic is skinny teenage white girls, and that probably wouldn't change.
A few years ago, I applied for a job at Brandy Melville to be just a regular worker in the store. They took my phone number, didn't ask for a resume, and then the girl worker there said, "Okay now stand over here, I'm going to take a photo of you." I obliged, but in my head I was thinking, "wtf?" I know that many jobs hire based on looks (most times on subconscious level) but they weren't even TRYING to hide how judgmental and shallow the hiring process was. I didn't get the job. And I'm a 5'10, naturally skinny white girl who was in my teens at the time. I can't imagine how they would treat other people who looked differently from me trying to apply there.
Maybe this *is* how some people choose to express themselves. Sometimes it’s about standing out, other times is about blending in, but it’s always about liking what you wear
that's how I feel. I've always thought that Brandy's clothing is pretty basic and doesn't have a lot of originality. But their lack of diversity is ridiculous, if Victoria's Secret can do it so can they!
@@elliecat6006 gurl the average woman's waist size is 38!!! idk if that is all age ranges, but like 24 is a pretty small waist! i have a size 26 waist!

Next experiment for me to do this leisure time : walk into Brandy looking like a designer while being plus size and basically looks at their item like it's the absolute shit

It's so funny how being thicc is mainstream, but people still seem to want to fit into Brandy Melville. Just goes to show that the perfect body doesn't exist..
being “thick” isn’t mainstream anymore. it used to be mainstream when the kardashians were still considered the “it” girls, circa 2016-18, but that era is over now, and their body types are just considered obsolete now. The main mainstream body is the skinny bella hadid, kaia gerber body, since 2019 till now. Body types are just a volatile trend unfortunately. Being skinny is the most extolled body type of 2021.
I used to work at Brandy Melville. I was 16 when I started working there, and I was 134.9 lbs. And, no offense, I was the ONLY African American girl working there. I definitely stood out, as the girl that wore box braids and had worn the same pair of rainbow vans with almost every outfit, versus the girls with long golden tresses of hair and could fit into anything they wanted to. When I started working there, I definitely felt insecure. I was: 1. A black girl working in a store with pretty, white girls with long hair, 2. A little bit *thicker* than the other girls, and 3. Never really could fit some of their clothes. I became anorexic, practically, started eating way less, or at nothing at all, and if I did, it was literally just a health TV dinner and that would be it. I lost a lot of weight, and by thing time I got to my 3 month employee status, I weighed 100.2 lbs. I had to do into the intensive care unit and stay there and get fed through an IV just to stay alive. And obvi, I stopped working there after all of this happened. I even tried to get lawyers involved, but instead got blackmailed by the manager of the store I worked and, and said that since they had so much *power* over me, they could publicly humiliate me. So I did nothing. GIRLS! if you shop and brandy, fine. But just know, your putting yourself up for a world of disaster if you trust them as much as I did. And idc what you have to say about me, by it’s MY story. Edit: thanks for all of the comments and support for me. I really do appreciate it for people to tell me that I’m more than what brandy made me 🙏🏾 god bless yall
they would make so much more money if they did more sizes,,,,, i don't understand edit: yes i know plus size stores exist, im petite and i’m glad i can find clothes that fit me but overall other companies would make/are making more money by copying their clothes in bigger sizes. i’m not saying they should do XLs and XXLs, i’m saying it would be better for them if they made M or L clothes. you can be skinny and tall and an XS might not fit you. ED trigger warning: . . . anyways you should be body positive and not glamorize eds, not only being anorexic but being overweight.
Bailey Boo But is it really for the petite? Not all petite girls have the same body shape, (speaking from experience) the size from torso to legs on petite girls (and all girls) can differ a lot along with hips, bust etc They aren’t actually catering to the petite as not all petite can fit their clothes. They are just catering to a tiny minority, and it’s okay to do that but their advertising is unclear and misleading. I think that is the issue.
Just because you wide the net of a potential client base, doesn't mean you will have more business. Some brands have a consumer base because of their niche.
Vicky yeah I agree with the advertising thing but that’s clear, I’m fine if they cater to a minority because many stores don’t but I wasn’t talking about that I was just saying that they were trying to include the tinier people even if it isn’t all of us
This is so sad because Brandy is one of the only brands that fit me perfectly, I’m skinny and tall, my waist is tiny but I have full medium sized breasts. Most stores feel too big in my waist and pants/ jeans are too small and look ugly bc they show my ankles when their fit is not supposed to. I have to choose between wearing a tight belt all the time of having awkward length jeans. T-shirts either feel too tight on my chest or awkward because I’m skinny but still have boobs. I feel bad supporting them but it’s one of the only stores that actually fits me and makes me feel cute. They should state that their clothing fits one particular body type instead of their “one size fits all” bs. They know damn well their promoted body type isn’t even the majority so I don’t understand where they took it from when promoting it fits everyone
Just to clear up, I do NOT think it's ok for big influential companys to have such a non diverse range of sizes. I mean that when people call models too skinny it has the same effect as calling someone fat. Body shaming exists no matter what size you are.
mmm idk if it’s “just as bad”.... yes, no one should be shamed for their body, but let’s not pretend that fatphobia doesn’t affect every aspect of society for overweight people- from how they can get a job to how seriously their health concerns are taken. when people say that skinny shaming is the same as fat shaming it’s just.... not true. but i get that it’s with the intent of not wanting anyone to feel bad about their body, which i agree with!!
attack helicopter the message was “fuck skinny girls they don’t deserve stores that target them, instead we should boycott the stores for selling “unrealistic expectations” to women when in reality those tiny skirts and shirts will fit naturally skinny girls. Fuck skinny people WE DESERVE SIZE ENORMOUS!!!
Bree X if you look into it, torrid sells multiple sizes and brandy only has one... torrid has all sizes from medium to like 5 or 6x and they even hire all types of people. Brandy promotes one type of girl and that is skinny and somewhat tall white girls. It’s okay to shop there if you love the clothes but brandy should be more inclusive
pixieghost Torrid is for big girls like Brandy melville is for small girls There’s absolutely nothing that would fit a petite woman at torrid just like there’s absolutely nothing that would fit a plus sized woman at brandy and that’s okay.
Bree X that’s not okay though ??? they’re clearly being exclusive and it takes a toll on people who don’t fit in to what they want their customers to be. I’m someone who struggles with my self confidence over my weight and i can tell you first hand when you’re weak enough (weak as in confidence wise) you fall in these traps that brandy uses- girls starve themselves to be accepted into exclusive communities. It’s never okay to exclude or prioritize people just by their looks even it’s for marketing.
Yes. Because we do exist and want to find clothes, too. I'm actually impressed by the comment section. Skinny girls are finally sticking up for themselves. Size 0s are also, "real women." Not just bigger girls.
Alydia Forten no one is saying you don’t exist. you are not oppressed. the POINT is that maybe they should then present themselves as a shop for petite people.
I really like brandy’s clothes and I think they’re easy to style and aesthetic, I don’t understand why people get mad when a brand targets skinnier and smaller women when there are brands solely for plus size women.
2:19 THANK YOU for saying this. I'm personally tall and skinny aka I'd pretty much fit in all of the clothes they have. I'm happy that people are making these kind of videos and spreading awareness. But some people do it the wrong way, by shaming the girls who do fit in the clothes. One example that I saw in the comments of this specific video was "Don't worry about those brandy girls, you're better than them". There's no reason to put down those people who fit in Brandy's clothes to uplift those who don't. Thank you for this🙏😔
“One size fits all” mostly applies to: 1. Over size clothing 2. Loose clothing(basically the same thing) Legit that’s probs it, there’s not many things that can fit all, seriously NOT MANY
I like what you said at 2:19 Some people say: well this person looks better than that person or looking like this is more attractive than that. But by saying that it really isn’t going to solve the problem of toxic beauty standards. We need to see everyone is beautiful in their own way and they don’t have to be this or that way to be pretty, etc.
Surprisingly Brandy is more ethical than other brands production wise. Most of their clothes are made in Italy with a small part being outsourced to China as they do have stores in China as well. I do understand unethical parts such as lack of size inclusivity and many models looking the exact same "thin and white". Though they are not what I would consider a fast fashion company, I do dislike the lack of transparency when it comes to manufacturing
Maranah Ellis the problem is that the production in Italy is probably not very ethical either, there’s a lot of problems concerning fashion production in Italy. There are many poor parts and a lot of sweatshops as well, where people work under the worst circumstances. I would assume that if clothing is that cheap, it will never have been made in a good environment and with fair prices for the workers. Just to let you know:)
Fast fashion isnt just sweatshops, its unsustainable materials which EVERY high street store uses. The environmental impact is a huge issue - Stacey Dooley did a great documentary exposing fashion as the second most polluting industry on earth. But its great to hear at least one side of this brand is ethical! Im quite surprised.
It’s literally about SIZE. I can’t find size 00 jeans in barely any stores. Brandy is the one store where I can actually find stuff that fit. Everywhere has medium pants oh my gosh
@@ash.613 the problem isnt necessarily that there are stores catering to people who fit clothing outside of the "average" size range - thats why that store "big and tall" exists. its that brandy melville doesnt exist for body inclusivity, its made to exclude anyone who doesnt fit into them. also, while "medium pants" exist everywhere, that size means nothing if most americans cant fit in it. the average waist size for teenage girls ages 13-19 in the US is 32.6 inches. thats normally between a size medium-large pant, or size 12. so the question isnt "do mediums exist", its "can they fit the average US population" and the answer to that is no
This is so real omg. When I first went to a brandy Melville store, my best friend was buying a dress for her. Even though I searched for clothes, couldn't find anything that could actually fit me AND I WAS DEVASTATED like literally crying (and by that time, I wasn't even considered "fat" yet, so...). I'm from Brazil and here we don't have any brandy Melville store (thankfully), this whole thing has happened in Portugal and almost ruined my trip. Knowing that people at least know how toxic this can be made me feel more comfortable. Thank you for this video.
This! They should advertise as a petites shop, since petites do often find it difficult to find clothing that fits also.

@Lil Chicken There are several problems with Brandy's approach, including the fact that they ostracize people of color. It's great that people who are petite (including myself) have a place to buy trendy fast fashion pieces, but no one should have to suffer just because of who their target demographic is (skinny white girls). A lot of people who aren't in this demographic are made fun of and taunted by Brandy workers because management actually tells them to do so. people keep saying “but there are plus size stores” okay but brandy currently is trendy and its targeting teen girls.
Also petite in fashion means short, and Brandy is not really a store for short girls, it’s really just a store for skinny girls.
yea those girls are choosing to tell themselves that need to lose weight and that's their decision.
janiah bramble but it’s not a healthy one if they’re losing too much weight just to fit into clothes, and those clothes encourage teens to have body image issues
janiah bramble ah yes, succumbing to the aesthetic and ideology pushed onto young girls from a very young age and subconsciously manipulating them to feel bad for their bodies and to want to join an elitist, exclusive group of the group deemed ‘pretty’ to be accepted is totally their choice. yes. it’s not as if the brand targets TEENAGERS with ages that have the highest rates of developing EDs instead of skinny/petite women. no. it’s totally the girl’s fault. it’s the fault of anybody who develops an eating disorder, or wants to fit in, or wants to be able to wear the clothes their friends, idols, and influencers wear. it’s totally their fault.
where the fuck do you think that thought process stems from?
not every girl is ‘plus size’ though. a lot of girls are size 6/8 so if there is a shop that only caters to size 12+ , what is the issue with having a shop that only caters to under size 12?
i’ve found so many dupes at goodwill for half the price, but girls would rather shop at brandy melville because they depend on the exclusivity to validate themselves.
Like those sweaters. I went to a thrift shop and got those old “vintage” sweaters and knew the brand wasn’t worth it

Everyone is worried about the “one size fits all” part, but I’m more concerned about how you have to be white or have “Caucasian features” in order for them to consider letting you work there.
right
It is an Italian brand.

Cheers.

If they made different sizes they would literally be so rich as their clothes are actually CUTE 🥺
luv bug pull & bear often has similar clothes and cheap+ normal fit ❤️
But the fact is mass production of one size is far cheaper and easier, and that way they don't have to consider how the clothes will look on different sizes or body shapes. They wouldn't be any richer because let's be real, their main demographic is skinny teenage white girls, and that probably wouldn't change.
I would definitely shop there more. I’m skinny but do CrossFit and my legs are trunks and most jeans don’t fit.

Idk man the “brandy Melville” girl seems boring. I feel their clothing doesn’t help you express yourself at all
Facts. For basic people who don’t have nothing interesting express
for people who care more about fitting in than wearing what they like
Maybe this *is* how some people choose to express themselves.
Ummm they’re expressing they’re skinny bitches 🤷🏽♀️

being “thick” isn’t mainstream anymore. it used to be mainstream when the kardashians were still considered the “it” girls, circa 2016-18, but that era is over now, and their body types are just considered obsolete now.
And idc what you have to say about me, by it’s MY story.

they would make so much more money if they did more sizes,,,,, i don't understand
edit: yes i know plus size stores exist, im petite and i’m glad i can find clothes that fit me but overall other companies would make/are making more money by copying their clothes in bigger sizes. i’m not saying they should do XLs and XXLs, i’m saying it would be better for them if they made M or L clothes. you can be skinny and tall and an XS might not fit you.
ED trigger warning:

anyways you should be body positive and not glamorize eds, not only being anorexic but being overweight.
twenty one idks it’s like a curvy store but for petites that’s all
Bailey Boo
But is it really for the petite? Not all petite girls have the same body shape, (speaking from experience) the size from torso to legs on petite girls (and all girls) can differ a lot along with hips, bust etc
They aren’t actually catering to the petite as not all petite can fit their clothes. They are just catering to a tiny minority, and it’s okay to do that but their advertising is unclear and misleading. I think that is the issue.
Just because you wide the net of a potential client base, doesn't mean you will have more business. Some brands have a consumer base because of their niche.
i agree, but that would lose its exclusivity, which is mostly the whole draw of it, like she said.

@@LetaoChen Yes thank you! The amount of hypocrites out there!!!

Fuck skinny people WE DESERVE SIZE ENORMOUS!!!
bloobies espinoza the fat acceptance movement be like “ we can have torrid, but not places like brandy melville” WHY THE FUCK DOES THIS BOTHER ANYONE.
The thing is... if you purchase clothes from them, then you basically are supporting the company (ideals and all).

2:19 THANK YOU for saying this. I'm personally tall and skinny aka I'd pretty much fit in all of the clothes they have. I'm happy that people are making these kind of videos and spreading awareness. There's no reason to put down those people who fit in Brandy's clothes to uplift those who don't. Thank you for this🙏😔

How old are u. Brandy was way more popular in 2012-2015
Surprisingly Brandy is more ethical than other brands production wise. Most of their clothes are made in Italy with a small part being outsourced to China as they do have stores in China as well. I do understand unethical parts such as lack of size inclusivity and many models looking the exact same "thin and white". Though they are not what I would consider a fast fashion company, I do dislike the lack of transparency when it comes to manufacturing
agreed!
Actually a lot of stuff has come out that they aren’t as ethical as people seem to think.
Carolyn I knew this was probably a thing. Can you send a link?
Okay, but you can find clothes like this literally almost anywhere
It’s literally about SIZE. I can’t find size 00 jeans in barely any stores. Brandy is the one store where I can actually find stuff that fit. Everywhere has medium pants oh my gosh
@@ash.613 Exactly. So when no store can make clothes that fit me, then shouldn't it be just as wrong as this?
@@ash.613 the problem isnt necessarily that there are stores catering to people who fit clothing outside of the "average" size range - thats why that store "big and tall" exists. its that brandy melville doesnt exist for body inclusivity, its made to exclude anyone who doesnt fit into them.
also, while "medium pants" exist everywhere, that size means nothing if most americans cant fit in it. the average waist size for teenage girls ages 13-19 in the US is 32.6 inches. thats normally between a size medium-large pant, or size 12. so the question isnt "do mediums exist", its "can they fit the average US population" and the answer to that is no
Even at Walmart. These outfits are so basic.
