Just now getting back in the Gasser Drag Racing scene. I built my own '62 Rambler Gasser. I call it "Kelvinator". Pretty cool old whip. I'd attach a pic, but it's not possible to do so on here.
There needs to be a class with standard transmissions only. This adds human error and showcases the drivers ability to shift gears, not just push a gas pedal.

As cool as they were and still are, there aren't enough people wanting to drop half their paycheck on gas while never passing a gas station. They were a product of their time and can only survive in racing and classic car shows.

John Wilson the way I heard it was at the time they thought you could get better weight transfer for more grip cause tire technology back then was horrible
1/8 mile racing sucks. Also, back in the day, we didn't use slush boxes. You weren't a gasser racer unless you could powershift your small block at 8500 RPM.
They had the clocks TURNED OFF for the first half of the video. That's why I didn't film the score boards. lol
