  • The Morris-Jumel Mansion is in the process of uncovering more about the lives of individuals who lived and worked at the historic site, beyond the "Founding Fathers" and wealthy Morris and Jumel Families. In this video, learn about William Lee (unknown-1810) who was enslaved by General George Washington during the American Revolution and was believed to have been on-site in the fall of 1776, when Washington used the house as his military headquarters. This talk features Associate Curator Jessie Macleod from George Washington’s Mount Vernon.
