Thank you for introducing me to clear card bases -- so unique and beautiful! I placed an order using your link and holding on to my Paper Pumpkin until it arrives on Thursday. I'm really excited to add this element to my card making in the future. Thank you again for sharing! Xoxo - Audrey 💕
So, I finally made one and absolutely love the look. Learned not to use liquid glue on dark cardstock, it really shows up where double sided tape would not. Had to cut a black piece same size and attach it to the inside back to cover to disguise the ugly looking glue. Also, I used 5mil laser printing film for the card base and it worked perfectly (it’s what I had on hand and didn’t want to buy anything else until I knew if I was going to like the end card). Thank you so much for the inspiration, I will be making more!
Please explain what laser printing film is and where can we buy it. Sounds like a cost effective way to make clear cards. Thank you for your ideas about using liquid glue.
Hi Alicia, it as great seeing you here today! I clearly love your clear cards....These are clearly beautiful and outstanding! I can see clearly now....... If I had to choose....just kidding, I can't. I'm wondering if I should open my ink spot.....Is it dark like momento or comparable? Send me some creativity like is there a share button to share creativity via cyberspace osmosis? Enjoyed these alternatives, hope I gave you a little chuckle. Now I'm off to see the slim line cards!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!
Clearly, I appreciate you. 😂 the Ink spot is nice and dark, I think it stamped great. I was kinda bummed it came with black ink, since I have a few black ink pads, but I do like the way it looks. Thanks again for being a loyal subscriber!! :)
Lots of my favorite cards you do are with acetate bases or include some vellum. I didn't get this month's kit, but your alternatives made me wish I had. You made them beyond spectacular. They are the kind of cards I'd have a hard time giving away.
One of the very first things I did was trim up the edges on my sending and hello stamps so they could be placed into the sunshine stamp without looking strange. 😂🤫 I have never seen clear card bases. They really dress up the cards. I love all of the cards you made. So Stunning!!
I really wish I had picked up this kit - I love love love your alternatives. The clear card bases make them all so cool! Thanks for the inspiration today :)
Love the colours of this kit and the combinations you created.😌😌😌 I've never seen clear card bases in Australia. Unfortunately shipping costs from USA are way to high for me to purchase USA company products direct. 😞
Kay, if you live close to a copy / print shop you could check there. "clear cardstock" is actually just clear report covers - like if you got something bound into a book it would go on front so you can see the first page. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching. :)
Elizabeth, I have a link in the description box. The brand I currently use it out of stock in 10 mil, but I did link a couple other options as well. TFW!
Lynn, they are clear report cover sheets. I have a clear cards Q&A video on my channel where I talk a lot more about specifics, you can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/LhEci-JSxq4/v-deo.html TFW!
I linked what I use below. I just cut and fold the 'clear cardstock'. The exact item I use is currently out of stock, but I linked some similar items as well. Thanks for watching. :)
Hi Alicia, Love the see through cards. Did you make the card blanks yourself? Or did you buy them some place? I do have a crafty tip for you: To layer up something large (card layer, element) instead of using up your dimentionals, you can cut and use craft foam, and then glue or double tape it on both sides. This way there is no sinking in the center and a package of craft foam is pretty inexpensive.
I cut and fold what I call 'clear cardstock'. I linked what I use in the description box. the 10mil I use is out of stock, but I linked some similar products as well. Thanks so much for the tip on the craft foam - I love to save $. :) TFW!
Pat, I do have the material linked in the description box and have a Q&A video all about clear cards. You can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/LhEci-JSxq4/v-deo.html
I just love the clear card alternatives! It definitely adds a touch of pizzazz to a handmade card. It's like it kicks it up a level. I am curious, I followed the link to check out the clear card materials. I see they offer with or without tissue. Slight price difference. Does the tissue do anything to warrant getting it? I didn't know if they may sometimes stick together some? Or if it helps cut down on static electricity with them?
Thanks so much for watching :) I get the report covers with the tissue, because in my mind it helps with scratches on the material and makes them easier to get apart. Now if I couldn't get them with tissue interleaves, it wouldn't be a deal breaker. :)
Mary Lynn, I actually don't score mine, I just fold them in half by hand and reinforce the fold with my bone folder. You could try to score, but would want to hold it nice and tight so it doesn't slip - these are a little slick. :) TFW
You may have to use the drop down menu to select the 10mil clear. Nice catch. I will make sure to mention something in my link list. It is possible the 10mil is sold out
Great cards. You're real good. Where do you get the clear cards or acetate cards? Lovin them the way you did it. Pat from Arkansas Bling-bling is my thing

I notice the 10 mil clear cover come in 8 1/2 x 11. Are they easy to cut to the size you want with the trimmer?
Yes. I just use a regular fiskars trimmer for cutting. It is the rotary blade one I use in most of my videos. :) TFW
Are you buying clear covers and cutting them down to card sizes? If so, that is genius!!
Yes I am! :) TFW
WOW amazing, never seen cards like this before. Do you always make your cards like this?
They aren't always clear cards, but I do enjoy making them. Thanks for watching! :)
