He was looking at him his entire life if you recall Jigoku helped Kazuma together with Mikotoba because he was Genshin's friend and/or was full of guilt
@@rosankarthik No, that would be the case for Naruhodo but not Kazuma, Jigoku only had in mind to send kazuma to the UK as surely as possible, it is implied that he even manipulated Mikotoba into telling Naruhodo to self-defend and thus exonerate Kazuma of legal repercursions.
MAJOR SPOILERS . . . this always makes me recall the reveal with jigoku's suitcase. how, when you hear of gregson's passing that evening, you wish you could have seen him just one more time before the tragedy. but little did you know, you already spent the whole morning with him...
If I’m correct about where this plays which I won’t spoil. I believe it supposed to symbolize defeat in another country. It makes a lot of sense for who this plays for and when.
I kinda feel bad for the dude this song plays for He didn't want to convict Genshin and he tried so hard to get him a not guilty verdict he broke the stand Then Vortex used him to shoot Genshin when Drebber saw Genshin rise from the grave with the promise of a powerful position but he was still always Vortex's pawn
The thing I loved was when he first took the stand he was so for sure he would be able to get away with it but NO he was absolutely wrong we had everything we needed to crumble any argument he had as he very quickly realizes he was cornered the instant he walked into the Bailey
Spoiler: Why did Jigoku have to shoot Genshin and not Drebber? Genshins escape was supposed to be covered up anyway, if I were Vortex I'd have had Drebber killed (and any other witnesses silenced e.g. Rozaic) and then stuffed that into the coverup
Remember that Jigoku was also paniking and followed Vortex's instruction, when you read it, you see he was basically pressuring him with all his might and Jigoku shot him in his panick.
Drebber was enlisted in university, if he would die under mysterious circumstances, you would have a lot of people to consider. Apart from friends, acquaintances potential family members too, many of whom won't be reluctant to pursue the truth of the matter. Genshin was for all intents and purposes already dead or supposed to be, it's much easier to just kill him. Plus, if they were to kill Drebber, Genshin would witness the incident and could potentially identify Stronghart and Jigoku behind him as the culprits.

It just occurred to me that when Kazuma was beside Ryunosuke in the first case he was unknowingly looking at the man who killed his father.

It's interesting how this sounds like both a standard reminiscence theme, as well as the opening for something more dramatic, like a foreshadowing.
well in a way it was a foreshadowing that this asshole killed not only Gregson but Genshin too
Without a doubt the most powerful reminiscence theme in the series, which is saying a lot when Torn Apart Countries exists.

Then Vortex used him to shoot Genshin when Drebber saw Genshin rise from the grave with the promise of a powerful position but he was still always Vortex's pawn
But giving into the "powerful position" promise kinda removes the sympathy
He isnt sympathetic ...once he got a chance to get a higher up position he only cared about that and even shot his so called friend

Perhaps covering up the death of Drebber would be harder than just killing the man that was supposed to be dead anyways.
