    I definitely think it's worth it! My printer used to sound like R2-D2, now I can't even hear when it's on.

      Dang magic isnt it!? Anyone who reads this comment go check out this guy's youtube channel. One of the best drone pilots I've met! And a dang good video editor!

    Upgraded my Ender 3 with the 4.2.7 board. Amazingly silent except for the noisy fans. The stepper noise used to mask the fan noise. Extremely happy with my 4.2.7 upgrade :)

    After 37 years in electronics, when changing boards like that. Never remove all wires then try to remember where they go on new board. Just remove 1 wire and replace on new board. Rinse and repeat till all wires transferred.

    My stock board just died. Guess now's the time to upgrade.
    If anyone's curious, I had run an overnight print and left the printer on the following day. That evening I came downstairs to start another print. When it got up to temp and started the wipe, I noticed the extruder wasn't moving at all. When it began printing the skirt I saw the extruder gear rocking back and forth. Initially suspected a bad wire, as the extruder cable did have a small spot where the insulation had been scraped away. I ordered some replacement cables and just finished installing them. Went to test the extruder and it still has the same problem. In addition, the x-axis motor now makes an ascending buzzing sound that starts the second it moves, and continues to grow in pitch and amplitude (regardless of movement) until I shut the printer off. Some of the LEDs on the board also flicker every time I make a menu selection.

    FINALLY! So many vids on how to install the V4.2.7, but no one else actually has the difference in sound. Like you said... WORTH THE $50!!!
    Thanks for making a sensible vid about what we all wanted to know.

    Thank you for this video. I just got my first (second-hand) printer and the noise was a concern in my research but I thought I might be able to live with it. One day of printing later and I'm searching for reviews! Your video helped me make the decision; "night and day" "no-brainer". Thank-You 👍

    The bl touch port is to add a bl touch or a cr touch to your printer. It's not for a touch screen, that would be that rainbow ribbon cable on the LCD.

    I wouldn't say im hard to make laugh, but you really caught me off guard with the sounds you made of how the 3d printers sound LOL. it was spot on.

    I wonder if he ever turned the board over and looked at the bottom side to see its wonderfully complete labeling of "the big wires" area? :) That's one thing I gotta give Creality props for - their boards are well-labeled.

      Enjoy! Still loving my two machines with it, and admittedly gave away my two old printers that were louder. LOL! Its a worthy purchase.

    I'm a Hungarian guy and you helped me a lot with this video because I made the same mistake as you with the fan connector and it printed incompletely.

    The wire locations are silk screened on the back of the board... dont worry i didn't see till the third time i pulled it to troubleshoot stuff.

    I was looking to do the same upgrade I just picked up an Ender 3 Pro this last weekend and you’re right holy cow is this thing loud. Lol I have an Ender 2 Pro and it’s much quieter. I do have a question hopefully you can answer but did you just board swap and that was it, or did you have to flash a firmware onto it to get it to work with your Ender 3 Pro? Thanks!

    Wondering what makes this board silent, looks like it still needs the bottom fan,I don't see any fans on the original board?

  • @3Bud
    @3Bud Рік тому

    you should reference in the beginning to do a load of research prior to even touching the board. you had the potential to brick your printer by turning it on and not making sure the correct firmware version was on there first. maybe tell people to take a picture of the boars before removal and to have it unplugged... safety items.
    otherwise good job man

    Hello dear friend! Can I connect and use old ANET a8 display (2004) with this cool ender board (and use marlin 2.1.9)? Or I need to buy some another display?

    I remember installing my CR touch and finding the hot glue 😨, so annoying. I’ve just got the new motherboard so I will look forward to removing this all then 😅. What are your thoughts of using hot glue to secure them onto the new board? Reckon it’s just to prevent damage during transit?

    • @LegacyStudio
      @LegacyStudio  6 місяців тому +1

      Well I admit I am not a "pro" in any way when it comes to 3d printers. Ive given away 2 of my systems and just have my two Ender 3 Pros now. I personally didnt re-glue them myself, but absolutely I can see merit to a small dab of hot-glue to help with transport and just general proper maintainability.

      @@LegacyStudioI just have a quick question. I have just upgraded my Ender 3 max and it now does not seem to auto level properly. Did your circuit and firmware update work right away without any additional calibration?

  • @RobBob555
    @RobBob555 10 місяців тому +1

    Had this working for 5 months with CR touch, no issues, then yesterday it won't level properly, spend 16 hours on it..still not printing properly 🙄...I'm about done with it

    • @LegacyStudio
      @LegacyStudio  10 місяців тому

      That SUCKS, good luck with the repairs. I have been wondering about doing a CR Touch...

    • @RobBob555
      @RobBob555 10 місяців тому

      @@LegacyStudio it's fine when it was working, but I'd say, if your happy with your printer as it is, just leave it , a CR or BL touch is just something else to go wrong 🤷
