Longtime sanderson resident, that shop is a source of town pride. Katy and Travis have poured an untold amount of time, money, and love into preserving our town.
I think that they mean that there is no stopping by the trains, except for Amtrak and that is only by special order. Sanderson used to be one of the towns where the train crews would layover.
Having been in this store it' is truely an interesting place to visit and checkout the 1,000's of things they have. We met Travis and he took time to talk to us. -Marc
They should convert part of the upstairs into an apartment/rental room. It would be cool to live there or stay there a couple of nights. I love these old buildings. They don’t make them like that anymore ❤️
Those stores are the best..the best. I'm glad it's a historic landmark, so it's protected. Heck You can go to the giant box stores and they won't even have the stuff these stores have, and likely not even the knowledge of what you're talking about. You can smell the history and blow the dust off the old parts and tools you find to fix up something you thought might never run again. I think they should use what the Navy calls "bulls eyes". That'll help folks find their way through the store. Oh and use the glow in the dark tape.

What are you talking about @3:35? There are still many trains, including Amtrak service that still stop in Sanderson.

This is one of the better stories on TCR! They’re all good, some are just a little better 😊
A store like that is a treasure to a kid.
Thank you for keeping those landmarks alive.
Next time I'm in the area...I'll have to make some time for a visit!
Drove by there 2 wks ago on the way to San Antonio from Big Bend. Will definitely make time to stop by and visit next week time.

Been there several times. If they don’t have it, you don’t need it.

People building something and making a living are known as "deplorables" these days. I'm happy to wear that name.
JUST 👌AWESOME.
