  • Welcome back! I did this video to go over a couple of tips for working with the Model T rear axle. I had a bad axle shaft and couldn't find anything on UA-cam for getting into the ins and outs of these axles. I bought a new ring and pinion, inner and outer axle bearings, new axle shafts, modern axle seals, thrust washer anchor pins, and the thrust washers.
This video was made several months ago. I have been putting some miles on this axle with no problems.
My disclaimer is that I am no expert on any of this. This is the first time I have ever had a Model T axle apart. I'm learning and having fun as I get to know my Model T. Don't be worried about tackling these builds yourself. It's fun and satisfying to do your own work.
    As always, thanks for watching.

You`re like Me, Need a cameraman! Hope You got it back together! If I can, And they are easy to find, I use the Old baring`s if I find them in GREAT condition, They are MUCH BETTER than the Reproductions! The newer ones are solid, Where the old ones were basically as very thick coil spring flattened down and polished! They are almost indestructible, And hold Lubricant very well indeed!

I actually kept the old bearings just in case. I never through anything out unless it is completely beyond repair.
