I sometimes forget that this is a drama.. I am so immersed in this, it's as if it's are real, a big applause to the actors man!

That's because situations like this happened in real life more than you think.
this whole drama breaks my heart. I've been waiting for her to finally find out. My heart also broke when she she screamed out all the pain and one of her best friends was right there to support her and give her comfort to do so. And her other best friend was taking care of the person Gu Jia loves the most. Their friendship is so beautiful, they are always there for each other. I love them. This drama is so well put together.
A friend who witnessed or saw their friend’s husband doing something with someone else inappropriately and telling their friend about it is NOT the one who is responsible for breaking up the marriage. It is the spouse of that friend committing those acts of infidelity that ruined the marriage and is fully responsible for his actions.

You really don’t want to lose the love and granted trust of a great beauty like Gu Jia. Magnificent women don’t become part of a man’s life everyday. A woman of such character must be cherished. Losing such a woman will either destroy a man or propel him to search his soul in hope of attaining a rebirth within his lifetime. A complete renaissance would be his only hope, and nevertheless, he would have to let go of any ideas of a reunion. Unless he aspires to a deepening selflessness he has no path out of inevitable self-loathing. (I know this is just a story but I’m obviously affected).
It was interesting to see Gu Jia remember all the past events that allowed her to connect all the dots.

I don't blame the other woman. If he's smart enough to lie and cheat, then he should be smart enough not to! He told her he loved her, then rented an apartment for a year...1 year! That shows he wants a long term relationship with her. It's not a whimsy, it's how he truly felt.

im so annoyed how all of them are hesitant to tell (especially the two men), i would tell in a heartbeat cause i'd want to know. since multiple people know already the truth is bound to come out. furthermore, gu jia brought up her suspicions before. can you imagine being the last to find out and realizing your friends just carried on normally when they already knew. THAT would make things awkward and change the friendship, not telling a friend your concerns about their relationship.

They have a child at tender age, they have a house together, they have a company together, and they are viewed in front of many others as the perfect family. On top of all that, being the subject of a nasty rumor could ruin both of them, personally and financially. Gu Jia also believes in Feng Shui, as we saw when they first moved in. The peace and harmony in a household could alter how much fortune you bring to your family. With a divorce comes discourse and other kinds of chaos which could bring turmoil and misfortune. With a divorce the child could be ostracized from society. It would be different in a western society but the same cannot be said for Gu Jia. 😞

I am really REALLY upset at this movie series to push the idea that drinking can solve psychological pain. "Drink as much as you want." "I will buy more if it is not enough". Please, all of you who see this, realize that this is just theatre. In real life excessive amounts of alcohol affects your whole body, kills brain cells. Gu Jia would have been so much better off is she just took a sleeping pill. In my opinion these drinking scenes are just promotions for the liquor industry. Please, please, do not ever follow her example, whatever problems you encounter in the future. A clear head is much preferable to the temporary deadening of your senses.
His ego and an affair with a young girl hurt a loving wife and shamed his son. Trapped by a young viper. He destroyed everything. He can’t take care of himself, his wife made him but he destroyed her.

You You played on Gu Jia’s husband’s ego by telling him all the things that his wife was restricting him, from skipping dinner to not making the blue fireworks, all of which was for his own good. Their good friend was already in jail for fireworks explosion and she was afraid that it might happen to them also. I don’t get why in China the owner would go to jail for an explosion that was clearly an accident. In the US, that would not happen because it’s a corporation. If the owner had purposely lighted up the fireworks, then he/she would be liable.
You can be jailed in the U.S. too for negligence.
I remember they said someone was injured in that explosion
fireworks are also illegal in all of china so he only has the right to it since it's his company. if harm happens to anyone after a saftey issue you can be jailed, especially when it was known how dangerous they were
