$35 an hour is nothing for skilled laborers

I agree, that's why I said $35 an hour should be the absolute floor / minimum wage.

Only $35 an hour. We blue collar guys make life possible for soft handed folk. Without us, a lot of shit stops.

True, but without the soft handed folks our bosses can't pay us or get capital for their businesses. We need everyone to make it all work (except for day traders, those guys are truly useless).

@@jeffmcdonald8076 I actually think they’re more than that!! It’s disgusting, government robbery… Having said that though, if a smoker needs hospital treatment due to their habit 🚬 they don’t have to pay a penny!! From what I’ve heard about the U.S.🇺🇸 healthcare system someone receiving the same treatment would have to sell their house their parents house their car and all their belongings and still wouldn’t be able to afford a quarter of the treatment…

$35 an hour for using a hammer or standing around ? Read a book people.

    • @QwestyDaQwest

reading a book about laying railroad and actually knowing how to lay railroad are two different things. you work in an office don't you?
the ability to effectively swing a sledge hammer day in and day out isn't something that can be learned from a book. i see a lot of people with next to useless office jobs, who in reality work maybe 20-25 hours a week max, usually doing fluff work and causing more work for others in order to justify their salaries way above $35 an hour contributing next to nothing that could be considered useful to society at large. and they went to adult daycare, i mean college, and think that provides them some sort of status. those are the type of people who make comments like the one you made. generally useless people, clinging to their false sense of intelligence, and inflated importance.

@@davecarsley8773 Anything can be taken to an extreme, but the average family in Canada earns 174,000 so $35 an hour would only be roughly 65,000 a year. That's barely enough to live, but you keep being a corporate slave and never be free from your chains. Myself and all the rational thinkers who understand that companies are making more money than ever before and the main problem with the economy is that the rich keep getting rich even faster than before and now hold 99% of all the money, people like me will continue to try to rebalance the economy so that if can continue working. If we don't pay people enough money to be consumers and buy stuff then the whole economy collapses. Try educating yourself and also start thinking for yourself rather than repeating corporate/Republican/conservative talking points.

@@BryanBB440 Increasing wages has a tiny effect on inflation so long as the wages are not ridiculous like say 1M an hour as you suggest. $35 an hour yields an annual wage for full time work of approx. 65,000. If you think that's a lot of money then you are being taken advantage of by the company that employs you, you are a sucker. Furthermore, if you are stupid enough to think that people earning enough to barely afford to live is going to cause massive hyper-inflation, despite this never actually happening in the past in any country, ever.(because in every country that has ever suffered hyperinflation there was a clear reason why and it was NOT wages, it was government mass printing of money without the GDP to back it up, or a war time economy like in Germany, it was never caused by increased wages, especially not the tiny increase that I am recommending).
The median income of couples in Canada is 174,000 a year, so a min. wage that results in a couple's income of 130,000 a year, which is just enough to live off of, is frankly overdue. And PS - Corporations are having record breaking years, giving more money to shareholders, earnings are off the charts, the wealthy are earning more money at a faster and faster rate; in real terms the elite wealthy have gone from owning 30% of the wealth in the world to now owning 99% of all the wealth in the world. But you know what, I was wrong, the workers that actually do the work do not deserve anything more than serfdom and slave like conditions, clearly we are asking way too much when we ask for enough money to barely cover our basic needs, clearly our corporate masters and overlords are correct, rent must go up, profits must go up, but never shall we workers get a single dime more or else the monster under your bed will, I mean inflaaaatiiioon will destroy you! LOL. Talk about being brainwashed.
