You mentioned that your family came from Scotland, so you might consider researching old Scottish Folk music, specifically from the 1800s when families were moving from Scotland/England to the US and Canada. There are so many somber-toned songs due to how hard life was (especially in the small communities in mountainous areas), I bet you'd be able to use them for ASMR singing but putting a spin on it like you did with this song.
