I met this mantis 20 minutes ago and seeing her die nearly made me cry, note that I usually hate insects. I really hope you find her offspring and take care of them. RIP Kiwi
You showed more love to a mantis in 7 months than some people have shown their children in an entire lifetime. You cared for Kiwi SO WELL that you extended its life span by an entire month. That is not only incredibly rare, but unheard of in the wild. You are a fantastic person. Kiwi's legacy lives on because of you.

This is so sad. I never thought I would ever mourn the death of an insect but this actually hurts. She was different and there was a real connection between you that could easily be seen and even felt. She definitely was a well taken care of if not all together spoiled Mantis and she had a great life thanks too you. So sorry for your loss and God bless.

I watched whole videos about Kiwi in this channel, after I quit watching the videos, after February, I cannot belive Kiwi died! The good thing was PleaseBe took good care of Kiwi.
Kiwi.. she was the one who brought me entirely to this channel, closely following updates of her. Then she met Wiki and laid eggs, and I was happy, very happy. Then she started slowing down and her eyes became grey.. We are all so happy that she made it to 2022 and I am genuinely upset that she passed. Mantises weren't really one of my favourite bugs to take care of, but after I saw Kiwi's and your friendship, if warmed me inside. Mantises, I found out, fascinate me, same with bees, like the carpenter bee you took care of. You encouraged me to explore my interests further, and I found out bugs amaze me. Thank you, and may Kiwi rest in peace.

I don't know why this made me so emotional. An insect something i'd never assume would even have emotions yet alone create such a bond with a human. This is the perfect depiction that anything out there in the world, if nurtured, loved and cared for will always give it back. When I was 10, I got a mantis pod. It hatched into hundreds of praying mantis. I did a science fair project about them, with a cage of them, and won 1st place. I loved every single one of them. It was devastating every time one passed away. The last few were very hard to see go. Ill never forget them. That was 30 years ago and I'm crying while I write this like it happened yesterday lol. I'm sorry about your friend. I'm glad you had fun together like I did with mine.

large mantises live about 4-6 months, so, at 7 months if kiwi was human she would have been around 120 years old +/- 10 years when she passed. the 3 bumps are "Ocelli" Latin for "little eye" and are there to help kiwi sense light and dark.

누구한텐 아무상관 없는 일이지만 동물이나 벌레를 키우는 자기자긴이 만약 자기의 엄청난 실수로 결국 죽었으면 슬플껍니다. 곤충이나,벌레를 를 4개월 정도 키웠던 저도 밤에 에어컨을 21도로 틀어 결국 죽었습니다 ㅠㅠ

This is an eye opener for me and never thought an insect can stir up such deep emotions. It’s so beautiful seeing how the kiwi bonds with you 😢. Kiwi.. she was the one who brought me entirely to this channel, closely following updates of her. Then she met Wiki and laid eggs, and I was happy, very happy. Then she started slowing down and her eyes became grey.. We are all so happy that she made it to 2022 and I am genuinely upset that she passed. Mantises weren't really one of my favourite bugs to take care of, but after I saw Kiwi's and your friendship, if warmed me inside. Mantises, I found out, fascinate me, same with bees, like the carpenter bee you took care of. You encouraged me to explore my interests further, and I found out bugs amaze me. Thank you, and may Kiwi rest in peace.

Kiwi has lived the best life she could possibly live with you. That in itself is a blessing. It's sad that she's gone but when we remember her long into the future and think of the good memories we had with her, it'll be worth it. May she live on in Mantis Paradise.

I don't know why this made me so emotional. An insect something i'd never assume would even have emotions yet alone create such a bond with a human. This is the perfect depiction that anything out there in the world, if nurtured, loved and cared for will always give it back. When I was 10, I got a mantis pod. It hatched into hundreds of praying mantis. I did a science fair project about them, with a cage of them, and won 1st place. I loved every single one of them. It was devastating every time one passed away. The last few were very hard to see go. Ill never forget them. That was 30 years ago and I'm crying while I write this like it happened yesterday lol. I'm sorry about your friend. I'm glad you had fun together like I did with mine.

large mantises live about 4-6 months, so, at 7 months if kiwi was human she would have been around 120 years old +/- 10 years when she passed.
the 3 bumps are "Ocelli" Latin for "little eye" and are there to help kiwi sense light and dark.
That's why you don't pet mantid on the head. You'd be poking them in the eye every time.
And what about the spots in her body ? Did the diet cause it ?
