All over Southern India, a wave of horrified feeling had spread among the Hindus of every shade of opinion, which was intensified when certain Khilafat leaders were so misguided as to pass resolutions of congratulations to the Moplas on the brave fight they were conducting for the sake of religion". Any person could have said that this was too heavy a price for Hindu-Muslim unity. But Mr. Gandhi was so much obsessed by the necessity of establishing Hindu-Muslim unity that he was prepared to make light of the doings of the Moplas and the Khilafats who were congratulating them. He spoke of the Mappilas as the "brave God-fearing Moplahs who were fighting for what they consider as religion and in a manner which they consider as religious ".*

I doubt ur info, that Britishers brought law to enable Land Lords could dislodge the farmers from their lands.
It was exactly opposite , so far we know from history.
In 1835 Lord Cornwallis introduced the *Permanent Settlement Act* . Which guaranteed that a peasant would be permanently owner of his land.
The so called Jameen dar or Land Lord were there to collect agricultural taxes. If the Land Lords couldn't collect the tax allotted to him, he would lose the right of the collectorship. And the James dari would be given to someone else.
But according that law, the farmers couldn't be removed from his lands.
To fulfill the tax , the Land Lords used to force and torture the farmers. But could never be able to dislodge the farmers.
Not Rebellion it is genocideof hindus!!!

I am from the malabar region where this incident happened. More than 10000 Hindus killed and mass conversion to islam happened. The muslims who helped Hindus were also killed during that time. All the temples were destroyed including my nearest Lakshmi Narayana temple. Lot of temples turned in to mosque in kondotty parappanangadi area and still remain the same.
Hindus caught by variyam kunnan had 2 choice.either to join Islam or go to London(thier heads cut down in to thuvvur well and some people's skin peeled alive) thousands were killed in this manner.
Kerala leftist and congress government glorified these as independence movement and rewarded those who involved in this, for years they are getting pension also for this brutality.
