My mother died, in part, from advanced dementia. It is emotionally devastating to the patient's family, let alone how desolate and frightened it makes themselves feel. Jack was always a treat to watch on the late night talk shows, and had a very funny sense of humor when interacting with David Letterman. I do pray God's comfort and blessing on himself and his family during this time.
Absolutely incredible what happened to the tigers he had on the other show. But no one has tracked down what happened to the rest of the “ ambassador animals“.

Even those are normally at places called aquariums that are specially designed for them. Let's see how many I have been to: Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma,WA. Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle,WA. Calgary Zoo in Calgary,Canada. Monterey Aquarium in Monterey,CA. And Marine World in Vallejo,CA. I think Monterey was my favorite. But I like them all. Marine World is now Discovery Kingdom and its part amusement park. But i was never excited to go there for the rides, it was always to see the animals. My uncles wife was the tigers caretaker a long time ago, even took it home sometimes when it was a cub and teen before it was fully grown.
Jack Hannah did this to raise money for his zoo and the world wildlife fund.. to try and promote the survival of endangered species and to educate people on those species ..especially children.. so he sacrificed a little of their comfort for a few hours of their lives ..so what..
When Dave makes smart alec remarks that Jack is “supposed” to be a (zoo) director, I wish Jack would say to Dave, “you’re supposed to be a comedian”. Never could stand Letterman. I watch because I like seeing the animals.
Letterman has been just plain Bad with the animals in all the segments I've watched so far. Why did he want them on his show if he can't deal with them?
Jack Hanna acted like a fool his whole life. He's in charge of all of these animals but he doesn't seem to know the first thing about them. It's hard to believe that he isn't the director of a circus.
Do you lack care in learning his accomplishments and mission? Willful ignorance. Hes an entertainer just as much as an expert which is why hes in the position hes in. I hope you didnt dislike Erwins approach with wild life.
