What an absolute gem of a game this one is. This game blew my mind back in the day when I first got it as a kid. Not only was it an amazing game in its own right but also was a completely original experience separate from the PS1 title. That second stage had me stuck for days until I found the right path. Glad to see Ghost Babel on GDQ, and this was a fantastic run indeed.
5:05 " We're all about the bagels. If you got the cream cheese, i don't but if you got some cream cheese feel free to spread it " This quote speaks to me.
This was a prized game in my GBC collection; I had no PS1 but was a fan of Metal Gear growing up. I loved every bit of Ghost Babel, and I’m very glad to see it featured at GDQ! Nice job, Plywood!
just found this vid. they really really really need to add this to master collection vol.2 along with acid 1/2, portable ops, twin snakes and the other mgs titles im forgetting aside from the usual games.
I know this is an old comment, but I think the punch buffering is a way to time things. Those waves in the sewer for instance will hit a certain point he will wait at after like two punches for example. He can anticipate the timing by punching to measure the time
They should remake that game !! Or re boot the franchise starting from that game (so Sons of Liberty and Mgs 4 would be without Meryl and Raiden but with Snake and Chris )

Incase anyone didn’t know, he actually beat his own world record by I believe 12 seconds. WR
It's mindboggling what the devs managed to achives on the GBC with this game. It even has the stupidly long cutscenes that the series is famous for.
nowadays, lazy ass developers put up a 80 gb game with a 60 gb patch because fuck us
And you can crawl which they somehow couldn't do on psp.
@@iswipergosnipin8656 i remember that you could crouch in peace walker

Never got to hear Plywood's reaction to his time =(
I hope it was good.
This is one of the best hidden gems on the gameboy. Fantastic run!
Hell of a run, this was a treat to watch
Tight! And we even got some alternate what-if lore.
What a great run & runner. Love the game knowledge 👌

You say that like its abnormal for MG games in their entirety lol
I really wish Konami had put this game on 3DS Virtual Console.

This game has pretty incredible visuals for GBC

I owned this when it was new. I'm so sad that i no longer have my copy and it is IMPOSSIBLE to buy again.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean by IMPOSSIBLE, but its like $10 on ebay.
@@Red_D_Licious Cheapest used copy for the US version is >$80 at this point.
Still have my copy and enjoy playing it! Amazing speedrun!
Cool run and cool runner
Congrats on an awesome run!
Excellent, Snake!
I loved this game on the gameboy color
Wow. I remember playing this MGS on my GBC. Dont remember if i finished it.
great run
damn nice run
Awesome run! I can’t find that commercial!
Sorry I don’t quite get the punch buffer thing, could someone please explain?
I know this is an old comment, but I think the punch buffering is a way to time things. Those waves in the sewer for instance will hit a certain point he will wait at after like two punches for example. He can anticipate the timing by punching to measure the time
Who was the composer for this game? The score sounds similar to a lot of the GB Zelda games.
Does anybody know why Kojima came up with the name Ghost Babel for this game?
Probably because it's abbreviated as GB, the same as the system it's on, Game Boy.
You can all haiku
Just like you can do speedruns
Practice makes perfect
They should remake that game !!

What was this being played on?
is it true this is a tose game?
This is my first time, being the first comment :D
those guards have some serious tunnel vision of you can run right past them then they are facing you.
