My brother and I grew up in a house with two amazing parents but there was a clear double standard as far as what my brother could do and what I could do. When my brother was 15 my dad would "high five" my brother for having girlfriends yet, at 15, I wasnt even allowed to like boys. My dad didnt even mean to be this way and I dont even think he ever considered the message he was sending me at that time. For him, he was just trying to protect me because I was his little girl but for me, it sounded like he didnt trust me but he trusted my brother. I know I was loved without a doubt which goes to show you just how engrained this way of thinking is in our society. My dad didnt realize he was setting a double standard. As a young girl we need to be given the same rules and rights as the boys our same age otherwise we grow up with these boundaries where we are not sure of what we are "allowed" to achieve not to mention the way it changes the way that we view men.
People doesn't really talk about this topic and I personally think that it is very MISOGYNISTIC. Parents would be proud if their son have a girlfriend at a very young age, but when it comes to their daughter/s they would be mad at them for even just liking boys. Though, I know that they're just being protective but still, it's unfair.
It's because getting a girlfriend at any age for a man is far more difficult that it is for a women. It takes genuine skill and accomplishment. People respect people who do things that are difficult. For a female, getting a boyfriend is not difficult at all. You essentially just have to make the choice be in a relationship and then choose who of your available options it will be with. There isn't really any effort involved on the part of the women in the game of courtship. Expecting to be treated the same, especially in an area where both genders are vastly different is delusional and hypocritical.

Since she is a woman, they skip on the deserving appreciation... I'll also never forget when she questioned the interviewer saying male singers would also write about their exes and that was seen as romantic....and for Taylor relies the role of crazy ex girlfriend... Congrats Taylor, this music is on point, I love it
@Cacauchan544 well if people said TS as crazy ex-gilfriend than she deserve it because that how she maket her music and rich simple. I don't think almost any male singer reach at her level of crazy Ex story songs.

Seeing Taylor performing this masterpiece on stage might hit really different. It had been a long time, but our Miss Americana is back and I couldn't be happier.
but i'm actually thankful that there is no MV for this song . No doubt it would have been the very best but i think just listening to this song we can make its mv in our mind for all that happened to us or any other girl . I think that will be more special for every girl and woman out there .
When Taylor posted the songs in her album lover on her instagram I thought *The Man* was about *Joe Alwyn* . Boy I was wrong . Every song of this album makes my swiftie-ness increase 😍😍😍😍😍
I've always thought u were unfairly judged because of your gender alone. It's drama when you do something and it's fighting for justice if a man does it. I see you for who you are. You're more than an artist. You're an accomplished, smart and shrewd businesswoman. Nothing to be apologetic for. It's definitely an uphill battle.
what the heck are you on about? being a pretty young white woman is pretty much the best thing you can be in 2019 America. I just don't buy this "woe is me, life is hard" junk from them.
@@grapeape888 You couldn't be more right. It's sad that women are all following this trend of thinking that they are unfairly prejudiced due to their gender. The truth is, that half of the time men are facing the exact same adversities as these women are, they just don't realise it because it may present in a different way, while the other half of the time the adversities they face has absolutely nothing to do with gender, but it's just an easy thing to blame it on. I'm not sure if it's worse elsewhere, but where i'm from if anything women have it better. It's just that one person complains about being descriminated against and everyone else just jumps on the bandwagon without thinking for themselves that it might be due to something other than their gender.
Can't really decide which one to listen. 😥😥 thank you Tay for making our life worth living. I just wanna meet you one day. I hope my dream would come true. Love from India ❤❤
"I want to say to all the young women out there: There are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday, when you get where you're going, you will look around and you will know - it was you, and the people who love you, who put you there." Taylor Swift
You want equality? Far more women stay home as homemakers than men. That's not equal; do you want it to be? And if a guy is walking down a street, others are more likely to see him as a threat than if it were a girl walking; that's not equal either! Don't feminists care about that, if they supposedly want equality?

Whenever my friends make fun of me for defending Taylor so much, I always tell them about an article I read about how Taylor's marketing plan is unique in the market and works only for her, because of the relationship she carefully built with us fans...if she was a man, everyone would be talking about how much of a business power force she was...
Since she is a woman, they skip on the deserving appreciation...
I'll also never forget when she questioned the interviewer saying male singers would also write about their exes and that was seen as romantic....and for Taylor relies the role of crazy ex girlfriend...
Congrats Taylor, this music is on point, I love it
Cacauchan544 No, she is just trying to make more money by agreeing with whatever is popular in the world right now.

Sad reality is that every girl/woman once in her life has thought how different her life would've been if she was a boy/man. I never thought someone like Taylor with such immense power and success can be made to feel like that . It's so sad 😢
It is pretty easy indeed, if you are a self centered person
nabeela maham No, only you think like this because you want to blame others for your mistakes and failures.
If I was a man I would have been allowed to help out in class when stuff needed to be moved, and my ideas would have been taken more seriously than they were, I know this cause my teachers told me
Sarah Hogan Please forgive us for trying to be gentlemen and using our natural stronger bodies that nature gave us to help you, and your teachers lied to you, your ideas are not less valuable, stop acting like a victim.
@@hectorvalverde6694 I personally do not feel the situation outlined would have required your "natural(ly) stronger bodies". I mean, it was a class correct? the heaviest thing there really would be a desk or something. Also, lets not enforce the whole idea of being a gentlemen. No need to create standards for men in my opinion. Also, I do not really think it is your place to say whether or not Sarah Hogan's ideas were taken seriously or not. Nor is it mine, we were not a part of the situation, so its better not to make such assumptions.

@@sillysausage326 Words often have more than one definition, genius

This song is so necessary. So powerful. Being a feminist means you believe in equality for all, not special treatment. Just equality. Simple.
👍👍👍
Jasmine Scholz you’re right 🥰 equality among men and women is 100% needed especially when it comes to the issues of child support.
Being a feminist means you believe in equal rights and forget about equal responsibilities.
@@w_e_i_l_k_a oOf
You want equality? Far more women stay home as homemakers than men. That's not equal; do you want it to be? And if a guy is walking down a street, others are more likely to see him as a threat than if it were a girl walking; that's not equal either! Don't feminists care about that, if they supposedly want equality?
