Chris, thanks for dynoing my SRAD and featuring it in this video. It was almost to the week in February 1996 I rolled out of this dealership on this bike! It has seen roadracing school as well as track days and never missed a beat. This bike has not been abused but has been pushed to it's limits and at 26,000 miles the valve clearances are still in spec. That's Suzuki quality! I was happy with the HP results but pleasantly surprised that the power curve, until 8500, is pretty much identical to a 2023 GSXR. Then I go a little rich which I could tune out but I will probably leave it alone for now. I've enjoyed ownnig, tuning and caring for this bike and it was great to see what this piece of GSXR history would do against the amazing modern GSXR!
@@ac2jones I don't think so. This one stays at around 195. When stopped and idling for a while on a hot day it will reach, I believe, 224. That's the temp. that the fan comes on...then temp. begins to drop.
That exhaust tube thats blanked off is actually for sound not scavenging. Its used mainly in aftermarket car exhaust to get rid of drone at cruising RPMs and stabilize the exhaust note frequency.
I think the exhaust valve scare of delete.. was a scam from tuning companies..years ago.. and a racket for the dealer..just 1 more actuator to go bad at a SPENDY price to replace 😮
I agree. White wheels always look great. Even if they are a complete pain in the arse to keep actually looking white. A real pity the GSX-R is no longer available here in the UK. Absolutely, the end of an era, dude.
I tuned each cylinder on my gixxer and gained 5whp more versus batch tune. Gained extra 4 or 5hp messing with injector balance as well, it's the small details in tuning that can make a good difference!!
My 2022 only has a Yosh slip-on.. flashed ECU to delete emissions, speed governors, exhaust valve ..no tuning of lowers from flash.. tuned lowers with Power Commander 6. Gained double.digit HP..from.the tune. DITCH GOVERNORS fellas. Still a work in progress
WOW! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING... I've never owned a bike myself, yet in high school friend's of mine gave me the privilege to ride theirs. Keep in mind I'm almost 40 years old I I have kids now and a mortgage... YET I DREAM THROUGH YOUR VIDEOS OF OWNING A WHITE ON WHITE GXSR.THANK YOU! FOR ALLOWING ME TO LIVE MY HIGH SCHOOL MOMENTS FOREVER!
Thanks! That's my SRAD ...we thought it would make for an interesting comparison. These older bikes are no slouch.....2nd gear power wheelies are all the entertainment I need when riding it.
The capped end pipe is called a Helmholtz chamber. It's purpose is to knock down drone by limiting certain frequencies at certain rpm ranges. In short, it's there to help produce a desired sound.
"Helmholtz resonance or "wind throb" is the phenomenon of air resonance in a cavity, such as when one blows across the top of an empty bottle. The name comes from a device created in the 1850s by Hermann von Helmholtz, the Helmholtz resonator, which he used to identify the various frequencies or musical pitches present in music and other complex sounds."
@@crisnmaryfam7344 Yea, I didn't want to get that technical with it. Japanese companies have been using them on exhausts for cars for years. It's nothing new.
I love white bikes! Doesn't seem to matter what bike that color is on it always pops and when you add a contrast color especially red/blue/black it makes everything pop.
That exhaust tube thats blanked off is actually for sound ,here in Europe we using it for restricked the Bike for sound and the Power ,so get rid of it
I had a 99 wx 750 srad in black/silver/grey. Put K&N filter, oval titanium Micron can, gold plated double tipped plugs and got it tuned by Jarrod Jack Frost when he lived in Rodney, Leeds. On UK 95 Ron fuel I got 124.1bhp. They were some bike. Loved hearing this one on the dyno.
@@raynic1173 I wanted blue & white but the new one had come out (I couldn't afford it) so stock was running low on the srad. My Dad went all over looking for one, rang me at work said can't find one but found the black/white/grey. Just as pleased when I first saw it in the bike shop with 'sold do not touch' on it. Yes great bike when it hit 10k rpm and fields flashed by.
9:40 they're called J pipes which is mostly seen by the car world. It helps keep resonance down so the exhaust doesn't drone. I test drove a 2020 camaro ss with an MBRP exhaust that had the J pipe on it and it was crazy loud but all tone (wouldn't hurt your ears). I ended up buying a 2018 SS 1LE with a dual mode exhaust though
Yeah to the carbs. I was pleasantly surprised the AFR was a good as it was.....not perfect but pretty good for a carbed bike. I sync'ed them last year for the first time ever and that made a difference down low.....otherwise I used Factory Pro Config. 10 carb kit right out of the box. I like Chris' disclaimer....."Do Not call wanting me to work on your carbureted bike....I DO NOT work on carbureted bikes!".
I’ve got some carbon fiber inlet tubes and rear mudguard if you’d be interested oh You’re gonna pick up 10 extra hp on top of your best number with the cylinder by cylinder tuning.
That accumulator near the muffler is for LESS POPPING, they do that in plumbing a house when you shut off the water fast it muffles the BANG in the pipes not to hear though the wall☝️
Was that the one in the shop this week??! Man i was checking that bad momma out!👍 The blue wheels were ok but i LOVE the white. That is the bike I want!!🤪 Hopefully in a year or two ill sale the 650 for a GSXR.
Been waiting for this video! Seen them white wheels weeks ago, looks awesome!! Might do mine the same!! Definitely following this bike, I have exact same
damn love the white wheels clean AF love the old school srad that was my second bike I have been thinking of getting another 750 I have no need for a liter bike at my age and have a r6 currently mainly for some fun and gas economy
My 2018 GSXR 1000R has an Akrapovic Evolution Line Titanium fitted. The guy who mapped it drilled into the headers and the 02 sensors were inserted so each cylinder can be mapped. It made my eyes water watching him drill into my exhaust. That Arata system with the bungs is awesome, no drilling required. Mine wasn’t Woolich tuned, the mapper manipulated the Suzuki files without using Woolich.
That has to be the cleanest gsxr I have ever seen
Thanks! It still gets ridden.

She’s a jewel.
Is it normal for these to be around 220 degrees F if you slow down to 35 mph amd cruise through town?

Called a helmholtz resonator

The old school GSXR is clean asf. Great job hosting that bike. The 1000 is absolutely stunning.
Thanks...that's my SRAD and Chris did a great job showing how the older stuff stacks up against modern bikes.
The bike is beautiful! I have always like the 2018 paint scheme and this is very close. So clean!
I agree!
My 2018 is black with grey and white detail. Looks the best I reckon.

@elonmust7470 what you mean? All I got is a final dyno graph and a vid of my bike on dyno
Truth.. you could have variances from cylinder to cylinder

The wheels are the icing on the cake
That was my 2023 750 dyno with an Brock's exhaust on it he compared the 96 to. These 750's just work and keep on rolling! Great video guys!
💪
That's my SRAD Chris dynoed. It was good to see the comparison with your new GSXR. What power did yours make before Chris tuned it?
Did not expect to see an SRAD on Moore Mafia! 💪
Next, TL1000R's!
Chris did a great job featuring my SRAD...we thought it would make for some interesting viewing to see how older stuff would stack up.
Awesome seeing older bikes and the power they can still make. New is great and all but something about retro bikes is so refreshing to watch!!

That exhaust sounds badass. That dinosaur of a gem was clean as well.
Love that paint scheme
Love the SRAD and the white wheels
I love the white wheels looks amazing
I think that exhaust will really show with velocity stacks because individual cylinder tunes would be affected more. It would be and interesting test.
That 23 sounds good. Love the white wheels on there, mean!
Arata making an awesome comeback 💪🏼
wheels look sick
the black pipe is a drone resonator. kills drone at a specific range. awesome exhaust 👍🏼
The white wheels are perfect!!
My Arata on my old zx12r was a beautiful pipe back then. Yours looks like they are still beautiful pipes.

Cool old 750
How do we get a ecu flash not living close to you can this be done any other way. Picking up my GsxR 1000 2023 tomorrow
Also helps with the sound! That gsxr looks so skeletonized and beautiful!!!
That exhaust sounds pretty mean man spitting out them flames
im over here waiting to get mine i am excited as hell hahahopefully a couple more months
Man that Exhaust Sounds Pretty Good
Resonating chamber, automotive manufacturers been using them for decades on intakes, makes sense it could work in exhaust if sized correctly.

Love tht 96 gixxer tht thing is MINT! I own a 2008 gsxr and love the colorscheme is pretty much been the same
that gsx750 is a museum quality bike! mint 💯👌🏽!
White on white I think you made the right move by getting the blue powder coat white👌
I think the white wheels set it off!
@@TeamMooreMafia yes!!
That extra no-where pipe helps during the overlap to get that intake charge moving. Surprised they do not make it adjustable.
Chris, you're the best motorcycle channel on UA-cam.

White on white should be factory. Damn she looks clean my friend!
The extra pipe is called a helmholtz resonator for sound tuning.
you are the suzuking,, 😀😀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Weird I have exactly both them gsxrs bought the 23 last Friday been riding the 96 for 10years
Love the channel!!! But those BLUE WHEELS,, are what made that paint scheme bad ass !!! I’m bias towards blue though, lol

Love the color 😍🤤 great video as always quick question
What would u prefer
2023 Gsxr 600
Or 2023 kawasaki zx6r 636
What a monster of a liter bike, man. 183 and 80-something foot pounds, with that sprocket setup, the thing is a rocket ship.
Looks so nice with white wheels
had a '98 600 myself. Seeing this made me miss it now. Great bike. Too bad spare parts are scarce on the market.
A jet kit.....how many kids know about them? ;) Love it man! 1996 Vintage looking awesome! Keep up the good work Mr. Moore!

Is that the Hot Bodies undertail on there? Looks great but huge PITA to install (for me, anyway).
Can you re knurl the drum for more traction?? Can't use traction compound I assume?
