I apply Protene Performance Fertilizers based on their seasonal analysis, Carbon Pro G & L ,& monthly spoon feeding with mirimichi’s 901c . Cool Season lawn in transition zone . Missed the live but watched afterwards . Great show Ron !!
Thinking I’m going to go with the country club humic max this season. I’ve found the larger prills in other fertilizers seem to just sit on my 0.5” cut Bermuda even if I put down .25” water on them.
Hi Julian. It's a bit late in the season to be scalping. That said, the lawn will recover from it. You didn't permanently hurt it. Thanks for watching.
Just starting my lawn journey.. After spraying my lawn with something that kills a wide spectrum of weeds, what would be the next step? Fertilizer or seeding?
I would do a soil test Maurice since that'll provide the best answer as far as providing what the soil needs. The one I recommend is from MySoil. Can them here: golfcourselawn.store The product descriptions in the store also include videos showing you have to do the test. Outside of that, i'd start increasing how often you'll mow. That'll make a big difference how your lawn looks. Thanks for watching sir.
Hey Ron, my builder installed subsurface irrigation for my parkway strip and driveway side. I am curious how that affects fertilization? I just use my hose to manually water in the fertilizer once after application. Is that enough to really get it into the soil? Not sure if there are HOA rules that would prevent me from changing to traditional sprinklers, but if I can do you think it's worth it?
Manually watering will work fine Tyler. Unless you really want to, I don't know that I'd go through the trouble and expense of installing irrigation in just that area. Hope this helps.
Hey Ron, appreciate all your tips! I have a 3 month old centipede lawn from seed in southern NC. Has a lot of spurge and purslane. What do u recommend? Thanks in advance.
Celsius should do the trick Dru. ron-henry.com/celsius I have a video on how to mix it here: ua-cam.com/video/0wxW3zXrvX8/v-deo.html Thanks for watching.
Ron - I'm currently using a granular fert and I want to go to a liquid fert. What liquid fert should I use and is the an annual program to follow? Im in Texas and have Bermuda.. Also, I have a problem with my bermuda grass growing between my neighbor and my house; not enough sun. What would you recommend? Thanks.
Hi Rashad. The liquid fertilizer use is called TurfPlex. golfcourselawn.store/products/turfplex-iv-20-2-3-with-seaxtra I combine it with Humic Max in a monthly spoon feeding program. You learn more about it here: ua-cam.com/video/Ht3NuqMo9bc/v-deo.html
Hey Ron I top-dressed and over seeded with Arden 15, I’ve been watering twice a day. It’s 100 degrees here in Texas. After a few hours the sandy loam is dry so I water it again. Watering in the am and early evening/ late afternoon. Is that enough?
@@RonHenry I up the watering to 3 times after watching your live stream last night, thanks. I also used Humic Max on the front and side yards. I used Milorganite on the back. It’s been 54 days and the back is lush and thicker; greener. What do you think the difference is.
Hey Ron, so i leveled my yard in May and i still have some areas that haven't filled in and i didnt spray out my winter rye( was hoping to transition it out instead of killing the PRG) so im having an issue with my Bermuda filling in 100%. Do you think it would be a good idea to spray PGR to get more lateral growth or just keep mowing, watering, fertilizing? Thanks man
Heya Chris. The Bermuda filling in 100% is likely it still lagging due to the competition from the PRG. I wouldn't spray PGR as a means of having it grow in faster. Getting rid of the Rye and increasing your mowing, is what I'd do. Definitely keep up with your watering and fertilizing too. Hope this helps.
Hey Ron! I’m curious, to your knowledge will extreme hot temps have an effect on tnex, in terms of the product wearing off faster? We’ve had temps of 100+ here in TX and I’ve notice the Tnex wearing off just short of the 3 week mark. Should I apply Tnex every 2 1/2 close to the 3 week mark to prevent the growth surge or do you think that will be a bit much?
I've not seen issues with it wearing off noticeably faster as temps rise Green Thumb. Granted we don't get sustained periods of 100+ degree weather in Georgia. I apply once per month at the beginning and that works well for me. If you try that and notice that it's wearing off faster than 4 weeks, simply apply in 3 week intervals next time. Hope this helps.
Add your comment based one the requirement we spoke about in the live stream now!
Using Southern States 32-5-9 3%FE 9.6% slow release along with a liquid 15-0-0 6%FE mid month mixed with Podium and Aquatrols.

Hi Torrence. As long as you’re not allowing the soil to dry out, you should be ok. With 100 degree temps, I’m not sure that twice per day is enough.
