You should have wedded it to "Mysteries and Mayhem" as was originally intended by Kerry Livgren. Otherwise, a stunning version. I actually got choked up.
Unbelievable, you captured every nuance and expression. Thank you so much for doing this the justice it deserves! You are to be complimented to the max. I couldn't even begin to take this on. God Bless You All
Ok, I first want to say THANKS! for all the nice comments directed towards us..... Its great to know that our performance is appreciated. To Jerry, George, Jorge Guitar, Ron, & Jorge Violin - You are the best friends a guy could ever have. You are all STARS in my book. Thanks for letting me tag along...........Till next time.............. Len
Sole, this is the music of my youth years and still listeningtokansas at 64years l am very impressed and thankful for your performance. Thank you for a nice evening with one beer ,,, ulamanaia from samoa
Well now.. That's been on my short list for a long time! I kinda reckon we'll do it as soon as I kin talk the other fellers into it! I guess it just "Depends"..lol.....Thanks for your comment!!
Good job boys, you make me feel young again at 65 yes. But the most important thing is that you have remarkably captured the feeling, mood and spirit, let alone the professional and wisdom of this great band Kansas. Keep it on, you have numerous people admiring your good work. Ula ... Samoa
Absolutely FANTASTIC! I tip my hat to all of you for a job well done. and thanks for helping keep the music of one of the greatest bands of all time alive!!!
Outstanding performance from everyone. But I get chills when Ken begins to sing. I had just turned 20 when Masque was released in late '75, just beginning my Junior year in college. This album was on regular rotation at the local college radio station, as well as on many stereo systems (including mine). This song in particular brings back many fond (and slightly blurred) memories. Thanks guys.
What a great and ambitious cover! Len, fantastic job! I especially loved the "aahs" at the end! Ron, Mr. Hope would be proud! You captured the essence of what made his contribution to Kansas so understatedly important; melodic phrasing and unique rhythms! Jorge, loved the improvisational violin parts! Jorge, great guitar tone and execution. George, you are my keyboard hero; love the sounds you get out of that Nord! Jerry, you are a true student of Phil Ehart, nice drumming and video editing!
Wow, this thing just about made me cry with enjoyment. what a great song, and what a great collab by a bunch of great musicians. keep the Kansas coming guys............ this is beautiful stuff!!!!!!
Wow, the long-awaited new cover (9 months???) finally on air. Worth waiting each minute, hour, day, week ... because you guys utilized every second to create such an audio-visual delight ... congrats to Jerry for the outstanding video work and to George for the fantastic audio production. Kudos to all of you for the brilliant musicianship. I am curious what will be the next ... Richie
Way to go, my friends! Absolutely brilliant. I expected no less from all of you, however, as I know what you are capable of. Especially loved George's organ solo, pure genius. And Jerry, you should be very proud of yourself for getting the video stuff figured out. It'll be easier next time, I promise you ;)
Speaking for myself I just use my ear. I play along and record to the original soundtrack. If anything sounds off, I correct and re-record. Tabs are notoriously inaccurate. Except for their often-played hits, any tabs or sheet music are hard to find for Kansas music. Our own ears are the best way to replicate their music.
Ornate arrangement of the highest order. This is an amazing insight into the Book of Ecclesiastes by Kerry Livgren before he become a born again Christian.
Thank you guys! And thank you to every OVK members to this one.... This is our Pinnacle baby :))) I am grateful to being there on the keyboards with you. Thank you very much Jerry, Ron, Jorge, Len, Jorge!
Thanx so much to everyone for their kind words of encouragement. It is truely an honor for me to have all these great musicians backing me up on a dream that has finally become a reality. It seems Kerry wrote the words for The Pinnacle at a time in his life when he thought alot of things were unattainable. The Pinnacle is my life before OVK. Now my life thnx to the other members past and present turned OVK into Carry On. Both songs are about a quest, but the second has an element of hope. JJS
F***ing brilliant! Close your eyes, and you swear you're listening to the album. Great job all around, guys! Who's that bass player? I think I've seen him before somewhere, like...EVERYWHERE! (Good job, Ron!) Great vocals, Len! Great keys and guitar too, and of course my favorite, great drums! What a treat!
Wow, great work! Lens voice is outstanding and all instruments are so good played. Not one of my fav. Kansas songs, but you did very good job! All the best from Germany / Cologne Lothar as ELPI
vocês são a ultima esperança da perpetuação dessa musica para as proximas gerações. Procurei na busca do UA-cam e simplesmente não achei. Muito obrigado pela obra prima!!
Thanks for sharing Len. You have such a gift with that voice... man, what I'd give to have those pipes!!! :) You all did a fantastic job. Awesome work guys all around!! Great tribute.
Musically this is superb, tremendous attention to detail and beautifully executed. But Len, I've never heard ANYONEsound as close to the original singer of a band like you do. Jon Davison in Yes, 75% of Anderson; Arnel Pineda in Journey, maybe 80% Steve Perry; Gowan in Styx comes very close, maybe 90% Dennis DeYoung. But your take on Steve Walsh is just astounding, in every way - rhythmically, pacing, delivery, and above all, tone. I feel like I'm listening to Steve at 24, before the booze did its demolition work on his voice. Stupendous job, mate. To all of you, in fact. Cheers from Montreal, Canada.
First of all I want to thank you so very very much for such a great complement! I do have other singers I cover somewhat close to their style But over the years no has as impressed me more than Steve. The beautiful music that Kerry Livgren and Steve wrote has had me addicted since the beginning! Every time I listen to any of their songs I love it more than the last time! Also, working alone with access to audio devices through the years has helped me develop a good strong voice and memory of stylings of different vocalists. Thanks again so much for listening, and stay tuned as we have another video out soon!
This is the best lineup, out of all of your videos. The lead guitar work was note for note. Everyone was perfect. It's like I was listening to the Kansas cd. :) You guys should tour as the ultimate Kansas cover band.
Thnx Jeff, your very kind to appreciate our efforts. Unlike a Chris Rickert who watched our Icarus video and thought we had shot and killed each original Kansas member for our own benefit. Chris Rickert who thinks everyone's opinion is total garbage. We all just wanted to kinda be a part of this music. Have something to share with this great band. Our talents and today's technology afforded us that. We are all humbled just to be able to live a dream.
My pleasure. I give credit where credit is due. I have an idea of how hard it is to play Kansas songs. My brother and I played Carry on Wayward Son (me on lead guitar and him on drums) and I made a sad attempt to play Magnum Opus, solo (switching off on keyboards and guitar). I also sang Dust in the Wind with a friend of mine (I sang the harmony part). Kansas is my favorite band of all-time and I've seen them in concert 3 times (it should have been 4, but I got busted smoking a doob during the opening act and had to listen to Kansas from the back of a paddy wagon lol). So, I'm a huge Kansas fan and know the complexities of their songs. You guys totally rocked it.
OMG Jeff....too funny......see....I would have hauled your ass outta there too for wasting a good opportunity to get some fresh air during an opening act for Kansas. Times sure have changed. But again thnx for understanding what and why we do. It takes a true fan of this great band to attempt to experience what they do each time they play. That we have in common.
lol I think the opening band was Johnny Van Zant. I thought he might be good, since his brothers were the singers for Lynyrd Skynyrd and .38 Special. He wasn't. We were young and stupid. I learned a valuable lesson that day though. Never smoke a joint in an indoor, non-smoking auditorium, unless you want to miss Kansas and spend 3 hours in a paddy wagon followed by 9 hours in jail. lol
Am I the only one that hears a similar vibe around the 6 minute mark as the Edgar Winter Frankenstein song? It has the creepy Halloween sound that is so cool.
Awesome guys!!! I guess I must've missed that one when it was uploaded... Fantastic mix, impressively close to the original!! Stellar vocals!!! Kudos to all! - JC
a Brilliant cover of one of Kansas' best songs. Extraordinarily close to Steve Walsh's voice.
Thank You.... It's an honor to have the opportunity!
kerry can write some amazing lyrics
Best classical rock band of all time!
In a perfect world, you'd have 1 billion views by now!
Vantripper True
You should have wedded it to "Mysteries and Mayhem" as was originally intended by Kerry Livgren. Otherwise, a stunning version. I actually got choked up.
Dave Hope is one of the most original sounding bassist ever. He was the foundation of the band. You sir have nailed the Dave Hope sound and drive! 🙌
Unbelievable, you captured every nuance and expression. Thank you so much for doing this the justice it deserves! You are to be complimented to the max. I couldn't even begin to take this on. God Bless You All
Thanks Roger..... We have another video coming soon.... Stay tuned... and Thanks for your subscription!
Just incredible. Bass and vocals to die for
thank you! ..you guys were brilliant!..all of you!..bring it!!!!!
Ok, I first want to say THANKS! for all the nice comments directed towards us..... Its great to know that our performance is appreciated. I extend a big Thank You from all of us in OVK....😊
Well now.. That's been on my short list for a long time! I kinda reckon we'll do it as soon as I kin talk the other fellers into it! I guess it just "Depends"..lol.....Thanks for your comment!!
Amazingly well done. Way to tackle a that has so much audio dynamic.
Excellent job! One of my favorite Kansas songs! Keep up the good work guys!
Wow. Len really owns those vocals. Fantastic job from everyone.
Man, that was so "Steve Walsh" vocally.
That was so "McDonalds" in his belly
+VIDEOHEREBOB He sounds better than the guy that is fronting Kansas now!
I like Ronnie. You don't? Why?
That was the best Steve I've ever heard. (shhhh better than the coke Steve of the 80's)
Good job boys, you make me feel young again at 65 yes. But the most important thing is that you have remarkably captured the feeling, mood and spirit, let alone the professional and wisdom of this great band Kansas.
Keep it on, you have numerous people admiring your good work.

Drew, Big THANKS for the great comments. I know you can appreciate the dedication we have for making these covers. We're going to keep em' coming.....
Absolutely FANTASTIC! I tip my hat to all of you for a job well done. and thanks for helping keep the music of one of the greatest bands of all time alive!!!

In tears... God Bless you all.. such a deep and meaningful song.. Rejoicing that Kerry Livgren found the TRUTH!!!
He saw behind the tomb 🙏
Outstanding performance Len and friends. By far the best cover of this song I've heard.
Thanks Charlie!!
You guys are incredible!
Brilliant!! Keep on rocking!!
Brilliant!!! Congrats 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I've got to say, I was pretty skeptical at first. But you guys won me over by the end. Great job.
Outstanding performance from everyone. But I get chills when Ken begins to sing. I had just turned 20 when Masque was released in late '75, just beginning my Junior year in college. I'm glad you liked Chris!
ANY TIME BETTER AND BETTER!!!!!!!!

Bravissimo! Great song Len. Did it so well. Keep em coming.
Thanks Thomas.. from all of us!
This is too cool! Great job all involved.
Stunning work! Thank you for doing this. This has long been one of my favorite compositions.
Kansas is finally playing this song live for the first time since 1976 on their 50th Anniversary tour.
Wow, this is really cooooool stuff! Youz guys do it right!
Wow, the long-awaited new cover (9 months???) finally on air. Worth waiting each minute, hour, day, week ... because you guys utilized every second to create such an audio-visual delight ... congrats to Jerry for the outstanding video work and to George for the fantastic audio production.

Great job, guys! Len, you really nailed a tough vocal.
I appreciate that... Thanks from all of us!!🙂
Very nice homage. Really cool to have a live violin player in the project along with all the other fine talent!
My favorite Kansas song! Thank you!!!
It is so nice to see a group of musicians produce a cover of this quality. A pleasure to watch and listen. Beautifully done you guys!!! Cheers! :)
Way to go, my friends! Absolutely brilliant. I expected no less from all of you, however, as I know what you are capable of. Especially loved George's organ solo, pure genius. Exellent!!! This is no easy thing to pull off! Spot on Kansas!
Great cover guys!
Amazing keyboards, violin, drums, bass, guitar and vocals!
Excellent Len!!!!! You guys nailed it!!!!
Nailed it! Especially the original Steve Walsh vocals at the end. Awesome job!!
Nice instrumental work guys. Very top notch! Vocals were excellent. You guys rock! Love this song and the way you play it. My favorite from Kansas.

Amazing performance!!!

You rock! I totally enjoyed your awesome collaboration!
Ornate arrangement of the highest order. This is an amazing insight into the Book of Ecclesiastes by Kerry Livgren before he become a born again Christian.

F*****g outstanding! Have you plans to cover All The World from Masque? It’s my favourite Kansas song.
Thanks so much from all of us!... I have recently covered "All The World" on my channel...ua-cam.com/video/j-VVLOg6IMs/v-deo.html Hope you like!
Very very good cover, guys!
Len, great performance! Kinda wished you pulled off that ending falsetto. It IS a tall order, I know. :)
Thanks... I did sing the ooh - ooh - oohs at the ending... But they are not supposed to be falsetto.... Glad you liked!
