    Hi, my dad had a similar machine. He was always told not to start the engine from the rear side. That is for petrol engines only. I have done futher reading back in the days and since a diesel has higher compression should it kick back you would be in trouble. After three years in the garage i decided to pull it out yesterday and spend a couple of hours tilling in the orchard. I just spun the engine a few times on the front handle, found the compression spot, pulled excess fuel level out and off it went after the second try at 13C. I used to start it off without giving it the excess and my father was surprised! He had can of those for easy starting but never used any of them. Nice machines but hard on the back :(

    Slap another pair of wheels in the back and a seat and you can till all day. Hehe. I love it. Thank you for sharing.

    Dad one when i was a kid very strong machine with the diesel engine fitted good digging machine could be hard to handle when engaging reverse gear you had to push the clutch lever down to engage reverse had to be careful other wise it would reverse all over you
