One of the biggest takeaways from these videos has been the non sound specific lessons. Your session layout and organization. I always start out organized but find myself trying to edit and mix as I go rather than sticking to editing one food group at a time then moving to mixing. This causes all sorts of chaos in the session and lots of wasted time trying to get organized again and again. Thanks so much for these videos!
Thanks for the comment. I’m not very organized but I do try to compartmentalize as much as possible.
The best way I’ve found to be a one man band for Foley artist is using the pro tools app on iPhone/ipad to start stop recording. It saves a lot of time and having to switch your focus to mixing/editing too often.
USB extenders work too. However the dust is not worth it for me
@@ThomasBoykin Yeah I feel you. I try to minimize the use of my foley pit as I’ve got a similar setup as yours. I wouldn’t want dust to go in my gear. I did horse hooves once and I’m never doing it again. I forgot to spray some water on the surface. Oups…
Great session, Thomas! I was looking for some references if I'm doing my foleys in the right track. As a one-man team as the audio-post guy in sound design / mixing of a project, I guess there is no right and wrong on doing it, as long as we put our skill and creativity into it, and hitting all the sounds right, everything is good.

in nuendo it is more easy. You just throw production or folly footsteps audio file in DAW, DAW breaks audio in samples and assighns each step according it`s pitch and volume to MIDI notes, then you simply plays the steps in real time watchin video
