On October 15-23, 2023 - a group of beautiful drummers gathered on the ancient island of Crete to join our "Drumming & Cultural Voyage". People came from all over the world to deepen their knowledge of the frame drum.
This song was composed for our students of the retreat in honor of Rhea, who was seen holding a frame drum in ancient times.
You are invited to gather a drum and play along.
SPECIAL TREAT: The video begins with a short tutorial on the rhythms.
Many of our students had never drummed before attending this retreat.
If they can embrace the beats, so can you! (Refer to the notation below for guidance.)
(Teachers make mistakes too: There is a small typo in the notation of the A rhythm in the video, can you see it? But the notation below is correct! )
