The Spires lore is incredible. BUT, the GENESIS story from the main book is INCREDIBLE. Like.. these guys go DEEEEP on the world construction, right from the beginning!!! The Spires is easily the most unique fantasy faction I've ever played, I love it. They're also quite hard to play well.
Very interesting. With the way they use biomancy, they remind me of the Yuuzhan vong from Star Wars, Engineers(aliens), Zerg and Tyrannids. I like lore were they use living tissue as machines; very interesting. It will be interesting to see if what attacked them in their homeworld will find a way to reach them on Ea.
Thematically, they’re very in-line with the Skeksis from The Dark Crystal, along with The Beast from Krull. And that immediately makes this setting very nostalgic feeling despite being generally young in the wargame scene. This faction just FEELS like 70’s & 80’s dark fantasy, and I love it. They’ll probably be my second army if I ever get burnt out on The 100 Kingdoms.
I am a bit at ods with gw since a while (will not quit tomorrow ore something) but I tryed out new stuff, I liked more, bolt action, star wars legions, frostgrave, etc... Thanks to you vids I found about about conquest, and I absolutely want to try there skirmish sized game, next month I will start with that, so i wanna say thank you ☺️

Where does all of this lore come from? Are there collectible books or the games rule books? Where is all of this divulged. I want to own it and read it ASAP!

The Spire kinda make me think of Faerie Mounds, openings into a magical realm where the fair folk dwell and come out from when they get bored or want something from the world of men.
Alchemists of Dirz: The biomancers and flesh-crafters of the old (and long dead) game of Confrontation. The alchemists lived in towers in the deserts, too.
While we don't exactly what happened to the Spire home world, we can presume that it's some kind of military threat, given that the Sovereign seems to believe that he needs a massive army to deal with it.

Hey Doug I love your video's I have just started building my maggot of nurgle army I Am going to theme these in order of the fly because who doesn't love a good squire for for a crusading blightking But there's very little lore on them all to gather besides reading the books, but would you be able to give us a break down and a view from your perspective?

I dig Conquests take on dorfs and elfs. In comparison 100 kingdoms and nords are so vanila it hurts
For now, have you looked at their army lists? far from vanilla when all models get released...
Nords might get something but from the army lists it looks like standard monster set up. 100 kingdoms get more dudes in plate in Orders
