You were right he was supposed to say that n” word, because the word rhymes with trigger. But instead he said “b*tch *ss whoa”. Then he explained in his rap why he doesn’t say it. He doesn’t use that word in his tracks. In the track Omoshiroi, his step brother, Anji, whose half black does use the word in his verse.
"I don't give a fk 'bout what you tell us. Basta pag Pilipino nag sabi ng "negro" kahit sino pwede mag sabi niyan sa tabi, bro." (It's just Filipinos say "negro", anyone can just say that on the streets, bro.) Kinda rough translation but that's the meaning of his line. In the Philippines, as a Spanish colonized country for over 333 years, we adapt some of their words into ours. We have places here called Negros, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Negros Island Regions, etc. We call our dark skinned people negros, mestizo/tisoy for the light skinned. So growing up in the Philippines, EZ didn't know that that word can offend Black people.
@@projecthap1ness you're welcome. You're a real one for catching that tho. That "b*tch @ss woah" part, you instantly knew what he was trying to rhyme it with. Only few reactors(that I watched at least) caught that. Kudos.
Negro is not derogatory. It's just a color. I dont understand why it is offensive in the US. Words are just words just like what George Carlin said. It's the intent behind the words that matter.
See the thing was that if people look up the Philippine American war, the americans sent the Buffalo soldiers to fight against the Filipinos. They were called the little brown 'n****'. So it's not only the black that were called that. The black soldiers that they sent weren't happy with it and actually joined the Filipinos. Look up the story of David Fagen who defected in that war.
this reminds me of when SB19 said "Hello Negros" for one of their tours and Americans were trippin and were accusing them of racism. but they got shut down cause first of all it means black in spanish and filipino. Secondly Negros Occidental is a place 🤣🤣
in the Philippines the "N" word is describing a black or dark skin color and not a reference to a Slavery. There's an Island in the Philippines named by the Spaniards "Negros" cause most of the people living there have dark skin color. Philippines have been colonized by Spain, Japan and America and we are very aware how does it feel being enslaved in your own country. We can relate
The word negro in the philippines and spanish speaking countries means anything that is dark color it's not a racial discrimination. But don't get it twisted he doesn't like the term in the u.s.
he’s referring to our negros, our natives, like aetas. *we also use the word negro to describe someone/something black/brown in color. It is not a negative or to humiliate nor degrade anyone. 😊
Philippines was a Spanish colony for nearly 400 years. The "N word" is Spanish for the color black. It has long been supplanted by the native word "itim" but many Filipinos still need to be careful when they come to America, because it's no big deal back home.
In the Philippines we call black people negro because it means black but there is no malice behind it. When I moved to the US i have to learn not to use the word
Negro is the same in Spanish for the colour 'black', not the derogatory N word. "And he said that 'American' black people are offended by the word (because of the historical racism in the States).
in the philippine, they address black as negro but it doesn't mean they discriminate against black. Even the native there also called the negritos or aita but is common and not discrimination. Filipino got a lot of respect for black people. I myself just realize that here in America is racial discrimination.
Yeah, the first thing i was taught when I arrived here in the states is to NOT say the “N” Word and to Don’t Order Rice at McDonalds. (Rice is a staple in the Philippines and Rice is a standard side piece for the chicken meal and the N word is just our regular word for the color black).

In the Philippines the word "Negro" is isn't a big deal. Because here in Philippines the "negro" is just referring anything that is black color.
correct
and even if it is used to refer to someone with dark skin, it's still not as big of a deal as when you use the N word in the US.
Negro was referred to our indigenous like aetas, as The Spanish colonizer used to in Spanish word meaning black.
