- Wade Phillips started off the 2010 season 1-7. So after getting completely dominated in every possible way at Green Bay in front of a national TV audience, Phillips was out and OC Jason Garrett took over. And somehow went 5-3 the rest of the way, earning him the moniker, Red Jesus. Not from me, but Rick Renner.
Garrett almost went 8-0 when he took over. Imagine going from 1-7 to 9-7 and making playoffs. Bryan McCann's pick six is one of my favorite plays ever in Cowboys history. You can hear the collective gasp of Giants stadium as the life gets sucked out of them when it happens @ 2:20
I still remember that play like it was yesterday 101yds lmao
That TD catch over the DB v Giants is one of if not my favorite catch by Dez.
Mixing it up but playing a complete game together with perfection Dallas
Definitely one of my favorite teams that didn't win anything… thanks for nothing Jerry!
That screen to F Jones worked quite a few times that season...
Kitna played like a beast..
The Cowboys continued to fight through a dismal 2010 season and the firing of Wade Phillips and then had a much better second half of the year under new coach Jason Garrett.
Man if Dez stayed healthy and wasn't a sideline distraction he would have been a HOFer
Wasn’t healthy yes, but he was seen as a motivator by teammates. He didn’t clash well with other egos. That was the issue. Dez berates he isn’t constructive. He’s not high maintenance until the team puts in hard work. Notice the culture change since he left?
His game didn’t mix with Dak’s skill set, Dez is a 50/50 ball receiver, Romo knew how to get it to him, Dak doesn’t take chances and is more timing instead of anticipatory. Dez didn’t become an issue until after Romo was replaced, Dez wasn’t getting the ball thrown to him with the touch Romo delivered to him, Dak threw behind and over his head a lot and Dez was the scapegoat
Dak skill set is more short passing and run after catch, Dak had big number but most of his passing yards came in garbage time when the game was already decided. The Greenbay game is a good example, Dak has 126 yds passing in the first half, then when green bay went up 31-3 he finished with 426 yds
@@dr.reviewsfrompersonalexpe7603 What about now ? Dez was overrated.
@@aidancooney1834 no, dak still sucks, and amari got the dez treatment.
amazing how great dez was with a real qb (romo).
@@toddinthemiddle Amaris situation & Dez’ we’re far different. Dak is a top 10 QB
The first ever NFL game literally played in the dark, there was a power outage at giants stadium.
Witten & Kitna was a nice Duo in 2010
Love it when Romo fans say he didn't have any help! Watching this video is proof they have no clue!
I love Romo but he had plenty of help more often than he didn't.
Always had really good receivers and running backs and always had Witten. Championship defenses.... not as much. But there were a few seasons of VERY good defenses.
Not of lined up in the playoffs though.
They are called Cowboys because they make many teams look like Heifers
great job by Newman to run around and kill the clock, others may have tried to run down field and get tackled and fumble it

Bad season
Such a disappointing loss to the saints
Yep. I remember having thoughts of playoffs dancing in my head on Thanksgiving day. Then that loss pretty much ended that
@@awojhoski84 Roy Williams blew that game
