The French bakers are very protective of their baguette. If you go into a large grocery store you will see what looks like and may tate like a baguette. However in a large store they are not called "baguette." When I was travelling to Paris the French Bakers were so upset about the mass produced "baguettes." that a federal law was passed declaring that baguettes must be made by hand! So if you by bread that looks like a baguette, smells like a baguette and tastes like a baguette it may be an imposter. The law is strickly enforced.
It's not all work and no play working on a cruise ship. It's nice to take time, get out, relax, and learn about local history and happenings.
