This is a great pattern, I understand how it is done. You make chains long enough to fit around the mid upper arm, make sure it devides by 6. The you work in rounds as long as you want your sleeve to be. Now you start working in Rows. The first row is important, you start as before but not to the very end. You stop 6 stitches before the end, turn and work back in rows. Continue in rows until both shoulders and your back is covered when trying on the sleeve. In the next round you add 6 stitches at the end of the last row, connect with the beginning of that last row and start working in Rounds again until the second sleeve is done. She then adds more length to the back by adding Rows, and finely works a nice edging all around.
Thank you for this pattern. I needed a short jacket to cover my arms while wearing a semi-formal strapped gown (royal blue). I was able to complete it in about 18 hrs, & it looked great with my dress. I used royal blue yarn with a strand of metallic blue in it, to give the jacket a little sparkle. Using this type of yarn make finishing the final row a little difficult, as sometimes it unraveled a bit during the process; I had to go slow & often had to take out stitches & redo them, in order to get consistency of appearance in the final edging.
So many people have commented that they wish you would EXPLAIN how to join the arms to the body of the jacket. Please, if you want us to make these lovely patterns, answer your followers.
This is a beautiful pattern. Her instructions on the video are not clear and will be a problem if you are not an intermediate to advance crocheter. I had to re-write what was happening to make the pattern more clear and accurate. For those who have question about the sleeves, you will be working in the round for the sleeves until it is your desired length. After that continue working in the pattern but do not join. You will be working in "rows" until the back is the desired "width" for your back. After that, you join the corners with a slip stitch and continue working in "rounds" like the other sleeve, and then fasten off.Border: Attach the yarn in the first dc group at one of the sleeve seams, ch 3, 1 dc in the next 2, ch 3, 3 dc in the next sp, continue in this pattern around until the correct size amount of rows for your size. Then just follow along with what she is doing. I suggest you write down all the instructions like I did as you go along watching the video. It's really an easy pattern. She just has a problem giving clear instruction in her meaning.
Thank You for Sharing. Been long time since crochet. My Daughter is getting married. And I hope to croche this for myself to wear . It will be outdoors in the fall. If all goes well with Covid. They have canceled. And I yet to pick out a dress . But I feel this if I succeed would be Gorgeous to wear. So far from my viewing it looks like I may pull it off . I went to your site and Subscribed. You have A lot of Beautiful Tutorials, THANK YOU👍💕
Hi! I just love your work.. it's simply beautiful. I would very much appreciate it if you could zoom in on the project so we and see better and show us how you join each piece of work together that would help tremendously.
Wait! At 6:44 it says crochet 2nd sleeve together and shows a sleeve worked flat? I thought the sleeves at beginning were worked in the round? Confusing. Pictures shown too fast.
Hello, when you go first sleeve do around, when start back do 1 row and turn again row and turn, when start second sleeve do again around , this post help you crochetmarifu6a.blogspot.com/2016/05/how-to-crochet-bridal-easy-bolero.html
Olá minha linda parabéns pelo seu trabalho é muito lindooo amei vou tentar fazer pena que não sei e não entendo o que estar escrito mais vou tentar bjs Deus te abençoa muito mais
to make the shrug use a sweater that fits you with a tape measure measure around the upper arm the sleeve - wrist to shoulder across the back from shoulder to shoulder. 🌸
the pattern is good. im doing it for my sis. I wish u had given the spoken version along. and also the counts. n literally show how u connected arm and back.
I HAVE DOWNLOADED THIS PATTERN BECAUSE I THINK IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL, I AM STUCK AT THE MAKING THE SLEEVE WIDE AND I GOTTA LEARN IT. I MUST MAKE IT. THE PATTERN IS TOO LONG CAUSE IT TAKES UP ALL MY INK IN MY PRINTER. I UNDERSTAND THAT U WANT TO MAKE IT SIMPLE. IF U JUST WRITE THE PATTERN OUT IT WOULD B SHORTER AND IT WOULDN'T TAKE SO MUCH PAPER. I AM GONNA TRY TO LOOK AT THE VIDEO AND HOPE I CAN GET THIS SLEEVE. THE PATTERN IS BEAUTIFUL I CAN'T SAY THAT ENOUGH. BLESS U
hola quisiera que me expliques como hago para hacer el terminado de la manga veo que dejas abierto, como se hace soy principiante y se lo quiero hacer a mi hija y el bolero esta precioso
this video is 9 years old. it's as clear as the creator could make it. Here's an explainer. it's one continuous pattern. she makes the sleeves and stops making them in the round after a certain length. Next she makes the "back" of ghe shrug which will be as long as thr shoukder width, then she joins the back to make the sleeve beginning where sje continues til it matches the first sleeve. Next she makes the back wider by repeating the granny stirch around the edges lf the back and where the 2 sleeves separate. Once done she adds the edging to this are and also to the sleeve hem. It's a pretty simple design if the instructions were clearer.
