What this song was about is how people will judge her and say she's the bad one for coming out on top in out playing the same game as her so called " victims " are. It's about how she knows she's going to be persecuted and villainized no matter what she does so she's embracing it and becoming exactly what they think she is . She's saying you want make me the witch in your witch hunt then I will be one ...light me up !!!
The whole Rep tour is amazing. Her concerts are next level. I went to the eras tour last summer and it was the absolute best

Just a note… the lyrics don’t say “I did something bad” the lyrics are “they say I did something bad, but why does it feel so good”. In other words how can it be bad if it all feels right. That being said at times I think she is definitely leaning into the assertion that she did something bad but saying if she did she was justified (eg with narcissists and people who have fake relationships to capitalize on her fame). But she does not actually say she did something bad, just that’s what others say abut her.
And the light me up isn’t saying she is willing to take it because she did the bad thing and it was worth it. That bridge is playing on the history of burning accursed witches at the stake when it was undeserved. I believe she is playing into the message in a number of songs especially Look what You Made Me Do, that you can crucify her all you want and she will come back from the dead stronger than ever so go ahead and light me up.
There’s far more to the lyrics and messages in all her songs, but I always find it is interesting that most people in first time reactions to this song actually miss the key part of the lyrics that say “they say” and those 2 words make all the difference in interpreting this song.

She didn’t do anything bad this song is calling out what people did to her she’s calling out men in her life that treated her terribly and the media!! And well they call her a witch because one they are messed up in the brain, two She’s a successful women and stands up for herself and many other people including other artists, she’s also a huge supporter of women’s rights and they hate that the most because they are misogynistic themselves they hate women and they definitely hate women who became successful all by themselves!! and 3 they have miserable lives so they have to hate on others and also bully people for enjoying music like this I’m really getting sick of it to!! Taylor is a Christian so the conservatives calling her a witch are pretty stupid also another theory they try to pin is that she’s Zeena Levy but Zeena is still alive so she’s not Taylor and Zeena herself has come out and shut down those rumors!! We Swifties will always support Taylor because shes amazing, talented and doesn’t care what people say this song was in 2018 and Rep got the same hate as her new album people hate when Taylor stands up for herself and unlike this song where she’s only slightly angry who’s afraid of little old me is definitely a threat to the music industry, The media and the haters she actually means it in who’s afraid of little old me she’s tired of everyone bashing her!!
