- I am glad to start much awaited “The Rahul Deshpande collective - Season 2” from today. New song every Saturday!
Today is my humble attempt of the legendary song Aye Jindagi Gale Laga Le from the film Sadma (1983) written by Guljar ji, sung by Suresh Wadkar Ji and composed by Illya Raja ji

Great arrangement and singing. I love the blues keyboard so much - excellent idea! Also agree with you about personal setup, over production can make the whole thing feel very artificial. The best part about your singing other than command over sur and feel is the minimalist nature of it.

Beautiful rendition of a all-time classic created by Gr8 Illyaraja sahab, Suresh Ji and Gulzar saab. Those beautiful variations with the sargam and that magical ' Chhota sa Sayaa...' are icing on the cake. This piece you presented here today, was, kind of, swan song for us in our collage days! Wadkar ji has embellished the solid creation of the Great Illayaraja ji, with his beautiful voice and the song traverses across generations together. That's the strength of good music!
Special thanx and congratulations for your great and successful venture "Mee Vasantrao". It was, a kind of presentation, we were waiting for decades because, as I had commented here, before too, Vasantaraoji was way beyond what this world has seen him. "Mee Vasantrao" was a very deserving tribute to him. Seeing the movie twice in the theatre, we had the feelings indescribable in words. Alas, the movie was not distributed so widely as much as it should have been, I feel strongly. Waiting to see it again on OTT.👍

This is a wonderful song, with a fantastic picturization.
IMHO Sureshji chose an almost defiantly upbeat mood that befits a hero who refuses to give in to the circumstances. And that diehard attitude and pluck is beautifully expressed in the rhetorical question at the end of the _mukhda,_ "हमने भी तेरे हर एक पल को गले से लगाया है, *है ना?"*
Sureshji has packed a lot of punch in this "है ना?" with a murki.
(Punjabis would call this behavior as "attitude" or "tashan").
In the other cover versions (including one by Hariharan ji), this "है ना?" is sung with a meend. (for example, at 2:19)
IMHO the meend does not convey the same pluck in the hero's character.
