Lyme disease is caused by a spirochete (spiral bacteria). You can be infected from a tick bite, but not everyone bitten by a tick will get Lyme disease. People with a lowered immune system are more susceptible to getting Lyme disease from a tick bite.
Antibiotics are the primary treatment for Lyme disease. But, antibiotics don’t always work for Lyme disease. 20% of the time, people even develop a resistance to the antibiotic. In some cases, when people come off of antibiotics, they get worse. Some people may have to stay on antibiotics for a long time.
This microbe has been around for a very long time and has developed defense mechanisms to survive. If your immune system is healthy, the microbe can go into a dormant state for years. The microbe waits until you get stressed, sick, or just get older, to come out and kick you when you’re down.
In an interesting study, stevia showed a significant effect compared to three different antibiotics. Stevia was also able to eliminate the spirochetes and biofilms, whereas the antibiotics increased biofilms. This was not a human study, but it’s very promising.
Check out my other videos for more natural remedies for Lyme disease, and don’t forget about stevia as a potential remedy for Lyme disease.

Thanks for watching! I hope this helps explain why stevia could potentially be a good natural remedy for Lyme disease.
I am 82 years old now , and over half of my life I had Lyme disease . About 40 years ago I was sure it was early Alzheimer’s [ runs in my family] and really painful Arthritis and Gout {also in my family } . 5 years later I finally saw a Dr. Burrescano in East Hampton , Long Island , NY. He became a specialist in Lyme because his whole family was suffering so much . On and off Doxycycline for many years and numerous herbs etc. nothing helped to clear my brain and Rheumatoid Arthritis .-- but now I know I am HEALED , my brain is clear physical pain gone . January 9th 2023 I found you , Dr Berg - I never heard of Keto before , after really listening to you I could not wait to start my new way of living . Gave up everything I was used to - sugar , pizza, bread, pasta😮 etc . Followed your advice as much as possible, lost 20 pounds during 3 months , while fasting 16 /8 , then omad . I never fasted longer , realized my brain was clear , lots of energy in comparison , gave up my RA medication , A MIRACLE -

How much stevia and how often used to replace the antibiotics?
@@jameschild1321 what is this problem I have noticed, please, with earning a living from teaching healthcare self-care??
Yes that’s so true
I have aspergiliosis and Doctors say is delusional I been like this 3 years
I had Lymes 12 years ago and was lucky to get the bullseye rash all over me! No idea where i was bitten though! Fast forward to now, I’m convinced iv been reinfected! Had a weird bite on my left boob with a red ring around it. 3 days after noticing it, shooting electric shock pains down my left arm!! Crushing headaches for a week , horrible vertigo, heart palpitations, feeling sick! I was given a weeks course of doxycycline (not enough)! It helped for 3 weeks and then it all came back. I feel awful 😞 no one takes it seriously but it really does affect your life so much.
I had just moved into a new property, overgrown garden and a rats nest in the garden 🤢 I spent weeks in that garden trying to sort it! Weather was so hot so I was mostly in a bikini!
Feel for anyone going through this, people genuinely think you’re making it up. I can’t count the times iv heard ‘ it’s all in your head’ or ‘ it’s just anxiety’!
You should've had 3 weeks of doxycycline ,that is madness.
Best wishes! Let us know if stevia works for you. Would love to hear. Bless
You're right about affecting your life. My gf ad I had both had it in 2019. Same. No tick bites, just rash. She just got a rash, and took antibiotic quickly. I got the severe headaches, weakness, fever. It was bad. I let it go for several weeks bc I didn't have a primary care dr. I ended up ordering dox for fish, same a human dose, and took that for a month. Most things cleared up, but I haven't been right since.
This is integrity! Not withholding information that can help people. To many make you believe that pharma is the only way. Thank you Dr. Berg!
I know this is a year old, but no one is withholding information, this was published in scientific magazines and wildly talked about .
My dad once grew a stevia plant from his garden and took a very small piece of it off for me to try, the sweetness was indeed intense. It kind of looks like the marijuana plant. Since then I’ve used the liquid and green powder forms to use as a substitute sweetener. It’s crazy to think it could help with Lyme disease as that’s a very horrible thing to have. It just goes to show that nature provides so many answers for healing the body and thank you for this extraordinary and interesting fact about it. Just incredible🌱
@@aemyay5169 I’m sorry to hear that. For other sweeteners, I also use organic maple syrup that’s kept refrigerated, monk fruit, honey, or even dried dates.

Research what may counteract the headaches.
Headaches in general are caused by particular instigating factors.
Can you imagine what else it can kill off , covid !!!! ?
My mom grows stevia, too!
I love natural sweeteners, besides sugar, so much, I almost find the term "substitute sweetener" offense. Sugar should not be considered the standard sweetener.
I had an LGD dog that I was attempting to rescue in the Country and she wouldn’t let anyone touch her. I went for long walks with her everyday and she would occasionally pick up some ticks. I noticed that she would get a fever afterward. I started spiking her watered down buttermilk (she loves and can handle dairy) with 7 drops of Grapefruit seed extract twice a day and the fever would rapidly subside. I would continue for ten days. I have always felt that it would cure lime disease if used by people right after being bitten by a tick.
She finally let me touch her and she lives with me now!y

I think my 93 year old friend has this happening to him now. He’s in a nursing home and everyone knows how hard it is once you’re in a place like this. You don’t really have a choice what you eat or take as far as medicine and supplements. But he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease a few years ago and has had trouble with his legs on and off since then. They put him on the antibiotic then and it did help, but they don’t believe (or I think care) if he still has it which I think he does. The test is expensive and they refuse to test him again, I think it’s because of his age. I’ll try and suggest stevia to him. Maybe it can help in some way.
Two products I have used over the years are Biocidin by Bio-Botanical Research and Cocktail by BioPure. Cocktail was formulated by Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt and looking at the ingredients it contains Stevia Leaf extract.
I wonder if he also might suffer from vitamins D and b12 deficiencies? Most nursing homes suck.

Thank you for looking out for him. Everything you said about nursing homes is true. I lost my dear husband two years ago. He had dementia and had to place him in a memory care center when I could no longer keep him safe. He would wander and it's impossible to watch someone 24 hours a day. Anyway I went every single morning to take him out of the home. Then I stayed with him until he fell asleep. Memory care centers are an improvement over traditional nursing homes but even so the residents need someone to advocate for them. As his wife, they had to defer to me so we were fortunate in that and I monitored everything while he remained there. Give your friend a hug for me. You are a wonderful person to care. All the best to you and yours.

Dr. Berg, you have helped me so much! I was diagnosed with a fatty liver in 2018 and I had a Phibro scan done and an ultrasound. My liver was mostly fat. I followed a healthy diet with a lot of things you recommend. I took milk thistle, dandelion root, vitamin e, phospholipids,Not to mention all of the other herbs and supplements that you recommend. In addition to exercise and weight loss I lost the fat in my liver. I had a liver biopsy and there is no fat detected and no fibrosis. I can’t thank you enough! had Lyme years ago, it was horrible. I was given a injection with something on trial, as antibiotics did not got it under control. Did also not work, only got narcolepsy by that. Fasting helped me to overcome the infection. And with keto and omad I now got over that form of narcolepsy too. THANKS Doc for all this!
Hi 👋🏻 I also have been dealing with Lyme for 7 years. So fasting cured it for you? Did you do or take anything else?
@@Missgevious pardon the interjection but I had Lyme for years and worked hard to move beyond it. Everyone has different approaches, but it sounds like the Autophagy from 16+hrs fasting kicked his immune system into high gear instead of digesting. Also, look into HSP's, or Heat Shock Proteins, they are what you get when you run a fever and it kills your infection. There are (safe) ways to trigger this regularly, including a wet or dry sauna, or a F. I. R. Mat like a Biomat or similar. This combined with a supportive herbal protocol worked for me, but it was the heat that made the difference!!!! 👍❤️

as are essential oils like thyme, oregano and others
Wow... Japanese knotweed -- great to know, and it's every where here, wild, outta control. This is true about stevia. I've known this for about 5yrs now. I'm very familiar with this Lyme disease and it's co infections. Lyme never goes away, as you said it goes dormant in you body and hides under biofilms very hard to detect sometimes. I found that the stevia with doxycyline works well together. The stevia seems to draw it out from hiding and the doxycyline destroys the spirochettes. This Lyme disease can be extremely debilitating for some people...... aka.....The great imitator!
it's all in the Stevia as this research clearly showed that Doxycycline has very low effectiveness.

This is wonderful news. I told my sister of stevia as an alternative and she's now growing one in her garden. Someone we know was bitten by a tick while visiting an Indian reservation in Canada. Her doctors treated her for depression. Seemingly not much is known about the condition from ticks back then here in the UK. She self diagnosed herself after some extensive research. Would love to know more about dosage and any side effects of using Stevia to treat Lyme's, since I've had chronic Lyme's since 1985 and many more reinfections, since my profession as a gardener exposes me to many tick bites...regardless of any insect repellants that I use.
I've had the usual three week courses of Doxy after being bitten, but since my initial infection with Lyme's wasn't diagnosed until 1989, it became a chronic condition going into the future.
Had the Lymerix vaccines in 2000, which prevented me from getting reinfected for six years, but was unable to get more boosters because the company removed it for human use after people who never had Lyme's complained that the shots gave them symptoms.
I'd love to be rid of the chronic muscle pain, brain fog, fatigue and depression before I die of old age.
Dr Eva Sapi's research has been online for several years. I used it to stop Lyme disease in myself (not sanctioned by Dr. Sapi or the Lyme Disease research unit) but the damage may never heal... but I do seem to be getting better slowly. All of the symptoms you mentioned and more. I used raw dried Stevia leaves in my coffee press with my daily coffee for 3+ years. The research shows that Doxycycline is very ineffective and that Stevia is almost completely effective at killing the Lyme/Borrelia Burgdorferi infection. BTW it's LYME DISEASE not "Lyme's"... named after Lyme, Connecticut where it was first discovered in this country decades ago. It was well known in Europe before it was discovered in Lyme, CT.
So many protocols, but Dr. Buhner's and definitely a Biomat got me out of the Lyme tunnel! Took a long time and research but got there! Best to you 💖

Been using stevia in my coffee instead of honey. It's a lot cheaper here in finland too since you need so little to sweeten a cup of coffee.
Good item, which is nothing new for the channel but generally IS for a topic on lyme disease. Good point that this is not a human study yet - many remedies, natural or not, have shown some effect against Borrelia, but do little in vivo. The biofilm aspect of the way stevia seems to work is promising though. Compromised immunity being a risk factor - it's logical, but I hear this only very seldom after deducing it myself (and becoming aware of the root causes). Relapse of the illness after antibiotics - another great point, I've seen it happen as a rule almost for people in our community that have had the misforune of suffering of lyme disease for a longer time.
I have been living the post Lyme life for the last 8 years now. Please be aware that if you don't have a bull's eye mark after a tick bite, this doesn't mean you don't have the disease. Also be aware of the risk a tick bite holds for so-called co-infections like babesia, ricketsia, bartonella etc. It's a dangerous critter.
My naturopath had me on stevia (among other things) for Lyme in 2015.
I grew up in NH and spent my childhood in the woods . I never ran across any ticks. After they released the Lyme ticks from a secret military lab on Plum Island,?our woods have become infested with Lyme ticks. I get it every year with new bites. I have gotten 50 ticks on me after one 20 minute walk on an old loggers road in the woods.

The key is the biofilms and the body then being able to see what is there and then the immune system can deal with it, "easy does it" when disrupting the biofilms or "ocean floor", work on nourishing diet, sleep, lymphatics before killing anything, binders during this time will be a good idea too---bc there many things that will die off not just lyme--herbs and antibiotics are multi spectrum --people w/ Lyme usually have a spectrum of infections and imbalances--anyone suffering--quality sleep, wahls protocol, Dr Jess md, tons of trial and error, ozone therapy (gas in ears, IV), walking/light yoga, meditation, having fun, cellcore sciences helped heal me from Lyme, brain injury and autoimmunity
Whatvto use to disrupt biofilms?
I have found broccoli sprout powder combined with OSHA tincture drops indescribable for pain problems. It removes Lymme biofilm so the immune system can see it and not take out you or one of your Mylin sheath by accident!
Recently I’ve learned that Oregano essential oil and clove e. oil and peppermint e. oil helps you regain the fight.
@@ThisIsEmilyKate "Binders" are like chelators and remove toxins. When biofilms are broken down and pathogens are destroyed, the die-off products produce severe inflammation. Sometimes called a "healing crisis" and can include fever, nausea, etc. It can be dangerous in a serious lyme infection. This is why patients often feel ill after a dose of any effective remedy (oregano oil quickly does it for me). Most good protocols include 'blood purifiers' to bind to die-off toxins and get them out: cat's claw, red root, burdock root are some. Good in tincture or herbal decoction.
Great find!
Awesome information about stevia and Lyme disease, who knew. This was a bad year with Ticks in my area , I constantly had them on me while gardening
Love your channel, would it be possible for you to create a video on Covid Vaccination Detoxification?? Also on the best supplements, foods or herbs that help the most affected organs like the heart, kidneys and lungs?
Thank you 🙏😊
you can detox from spike protein from the shot with nicotine and binders like bentonite.
OMG!!!!! This is gonna a HUGE game-changer
Thank you very much for such amazing information!
Most welcome :)
Wow...i love hearing stuff like this.
Where do you purchase Whole leaf and how much do you take for the protocol ? Thanks!
Thank you for talking about tickborne illness and for your videos.
I wanted to mention, to those who read this: if you get a bull's eye rash, I would assume that you have been infected with Lyme and/or a few infections or more. It's best to treat right away with herbs (high-quality)--work with an herbalist who uses Classical Chinese Pearls or you could try Buhner's protocol with some help (it's harsh). The Nutramedix Protocol might help. I used bee venom therapy. Make no mistake, don't wait to treat. Many have had infections for years before they know, so it you get a bite, assume you are positive. Even the worst M.D.s and medical practitioners assume you have Lyme with that rash. I've lost a lot of my life to this crap. This doesn't fully matter, but It actually is just "Lyme" disease. It isn't that important that it's pronounced right, but it's nice to hear it called by its proper name all the time, if we are going to use that name. I'm not the most fond of it, because it fails to capture the multi-infectious potential that comes with tick bites.
Thanks again. This might seem like a critique but it's not. I just wanted to give input as a patient. I appreciate your videos, Dr. Berg. Been watching them for days.
I would not go to allopath for Lyme...I have used Buhner and other herbs as well as fasting...
Where can i buy bee venom please?
You can’t, it’s done by trained people, for God’s sake
Thank you, the Nutra Medix protocol is working for me.
Wow 😯 how interesting 🤟thanks doc 💜💙
Good stuff Doc
When I had lyme I couldn't use stevia because I had horrible die off reactions but now that I've gone through treatment I can have it again so it does work
That's good to know, thanks
The problem is the tests for lyme are lousy so early treatment is hard to come by, well in Canada.
I’m so glad to see this. We didn’t have any ticks in Northern NY until 15 years ago . No it’s infested with them. Everyone knows someone who caught Lyme disease around here. I’m going to look into adding this to my supplements as so few people who have it ever knew a tick had bitten them .
Thank you Doc!
