This is completely understandable. Being casual friends is one thing, but things like working together, doing projects together, living together and etc. are completely different situations and can stress out even the best of friends. Organizing an event of this calibre with such few people, I can only imagine how difficult it would be. Heck think of just making a simple camping trip with friends. So I'm gonna miss the Sports Fest a lot, but I understand the ordeal these ladies had to go through, and why they'd want to give it up.
It'll be a bit sad if they don't do it again next year. It's the one time every year when Miko is undeniably, unironically elite and makes every 35p so proud. But it's so much work so I understand why they might not do it again. And who knows what they might do instead. Guess we'll see!
The big minecraft events that have been held annually, the Sports festival and Summer festival, are some Hololive events I look forward to the most every year. Big inter branch collabs are rare and these give the girls opportunity to directly interact with one another. There were so many wonderful highlights throughout the years I'll never forget. I sincerely hope someone else takes over organising these as I think such events have no other equivalent.
Anyone can organise, its just that what is their goal? For miko its not all about winning or losing its always has been about bonding(unity) this year felt differwnt maybe because of burnt-out. Like marine practicing really hard then some fans started blaming her for being really good.
Four years is a long time, and so people get big expectations, plus its possible that if some member can't participate in a year they may never be on it at all. My school used to have some sports festival every two years, they did a big one every 4 years at the same time as the olympics and a smaller one also every 4 years but two years after the big one, that way people had more chances to be part of it but they did not to expend all the time and resources very often.
I've stayed up to watch every Holo Sports Fes live and it's sad to see it (maybe) end. That, the Christmas Karaoke Relay, and the Mario Kart tournament are some of the times I really look forward to because it's just a big, fun collab with everyone. Thank you Miko, Mio, and Shuba!
Yeah, it's funny just how much the Holo community relies on these early members for big events. It's natural that bigger events will eventually pass on to the newer gens. So we shouldn't worry, there's a lot of creative people in Hololive.
What I'm taking from this is that the Sports Fest lead by Miko with Mio and Subaru is over, so it's high time for other Holomems to take charge. Even in the Summerfest where Doroken took responsibility of majority of the events, Miko, Mio, and Subaru still were hands on with several events. Hope the girls step back and relax, and enjoy being participants next time.
Now that they mention it, I did remember correctly during the first year of sports festival it was Miko that collected most of the resources and made most of the events. I guess it's not surprised that she felt overwhelmed
And those bonds are far more important than how well they did in the events themselves. It's also nice to see even our two newest groups -- the latest generation of an existing branch and the entirely new branch -- got to participate.
It's really sad to see it end, I've never missed a single time watching the sports fest live. You can't see anything like this outside of hololive, the scale, the worked put into, the multi lingual particupants. I will miss the sports fest. And good job to the 3 girls for bringing this unforgettable events to our screen. ❤
Its one of those event that i cant imagine replicating anywhere else. The girls have real passion and dedication to bring the others together to have a good time. They out do themselves every year to keep things fresh and healthy. And small thing worth saying, Minecraft is such a creative and familiar tool, i think theres no other game or software that would be as easily accessible, for both the girls and the fans, to easily attach themselves to experience a fun time.
That's fine. Things start to feel forced when they become expected yearly. And nobody wants that. Like Risus nnn. It's ok to shelve things for a while.
That’s sad if this is truly the end. I understand that it’s a lot of work for those three but I kinda wish maybe someone could step in and take over the reigns so that it can keep going.
@@nightmare171 I hope Iroha can take it over. She's just as good at MC as Miko and seems willing to hold a big event (she hosted the game of tag event before). IIRC she also helped preparing the sports fes this year. Koyori is a good host so she might be able to help it too.
@@ruhhn6620 I wish 2 people from JP, EN and IN branches (6 total) getting involved and and creating a Hololive Sports Council. This way everyone and every branch can be equally involved and the workload can be much less. If newer people take-over, they can gain experience and gain a bit of publicity, it's a win-win. People can join and leave every year to the council this way and we don't have to wonder about continuity. Miko, Mio and Subaru did an amazing job these 4 years, they deserve a well earned rest.
For another large scale event, there's always Gmod and its workshop which has quite the assortment of playermodels of many of the talents. I doubt everyone is available there, but it would be interesting to see regardless.
The thing about sport Fes is that its initially a small event planned by Miko and Mio for celebrating their return from Hiatus, Miko from health and Mio from Ghost strike ban (which leads to the great purge of some VOD, most ACNH are gone😢). Its surprisingly popular at the release, and the 2nd one was even more popular (the one with e-sport introduction), I think they didn't expect it will be one of the biggest event of Holo, and difficulty increases with the number of members. I think the sports event is important because its one of the occasion where the new members can bond with their senpais.
Yeah, I think it's about time. Hololive has gotten bigger, and along with that comes various responsibiities that'll probably take up most of their time. Just coordinating with every participant would've been tiring. It's already amazing enough that Mikochi was able to pull it off at the start with some help from Mio and Subaru and also the mane-chans.
I really hope that in the future these kinds of events will be something that they leverage staff more to take some of the load off of the members. Organizing that many people in any capacity isn't easy, even for things like coraling them on the day of. Though for the sports day in particular it makes sense that they want to take a break after this one. They did such a good job on the games that topping it next time is just getting to be too hard. Plus given that there were updates to the games so close to the event I bet the development team hasn't been sleeping.
The staff is already taking a load off from them with all the behind the scenes, it either someone else takes over like Doroken did (Which was assisted by Mio) or Shiraken, if they want to take the mantle or they might move to do something different. ID already has their own version of sport fest which I think is gonna be an annual thing with some of the mc powerhouse like moona and kaela leading and ollie v much involve in the scene while the rest supporting. En is the one where its really hard to get things going because most of the members are not really into mc so if one decides to host a mc event of this scale it would really be taxing on them unless the newer generations of en shows more members who are invested in playing mc and have good knowledge on the game.
I guess 'time and availability' is a big factor in this. I mean, since Hololive is getting bigger and bigger, their schedule is packed as hell. Man, with all the streams and a HUGE project like this involving so many Hololive Members is soooooooooo stressful to manage. Yes, I think they should rest for the next year. Or pass it on the newer Genmates, Or share the burden. I think they should make it Olympic Style so that it can only occur once every 4 years. Imagine that, It will always be HYPE!!!
This reminded me that for some members, it'd be six years since they started VTubing back in 2018/2019. A lot of things had happened with Hololive these half-a-decade. Given the lifespan of an agency VTuber don't last more than 4 years, we are reminded that some of these members are going to start looking beyond VTubing. So yes, enjoy the time we have with our talents.
It is like when Game Shop Maruyama was cancelled. I am both sad that its not going to happen again, but also happy that I was able to witness it. Miko was always the driving force behind the Sport Festival, but I understand how taxing it can be, especially since Hololive expanded so much in the last years and the girls are all super busy all the time. And its hard to find someone with Miko's organizing skills to take up the mantle of the Sport Festival. I mean, Ame could do it, she also has some insane organizing skills (half of what Holo Myth did together in their first year all came as a brainchild of Ame) but the question would be "Would Ame even want to organize a Sport Festival?" So yeah, this might be the end of an era.
@@lostinthemeta9266 Some of JP bros said that she had motion sickness. But, her health seems to have been in trouble even before the stream and the motion sickness from Minecraft aggravated her condition. That's what I understood from Raden's Tweet yesterday.
So the conclusion I draw is that they will not be responsible for next year's sports festival, something like that, but if that is true it will be the right decision so that there are people who will continue it and hold the same responsibility
I think besides the reasons they are too busy and too much work’s required in Minecraft to prevent them held another sports event, another obvious reason is they received too many attacks and criticisms from different Holomen’s fans and anti every year either complaining about the game is not a fair due to the group being too weak or complaining for somebody’s non-participation.
The real reason probably is because of the scale of production + the rate Hololive is growing in terms of size and work opportunities. (Especially how busy Subaru is and Mio+Miko JUST had a concert last month) the amount of scale and workload makes things difficult. There's nothing stopping them from doing it, but it just isn't ideal to keep at it. It's With large numbers of members and sponsorships there's inevitably going to be members that miss out (there was never a time every single member participated) and Hololive members dont like leaving others out (even if it's not intentional) Even if extremely busy members like Calli and Suisei can preplan their schedules months in advance, you can't place that expectation on every member.
No hololive event can replace this one cuz its literally the biggest holo team building collab every year and miko, mio and subaru combined are the best organizers in hololive, hololive unity might fall after this
I don't want to think about it, but I feel like one of them is going to graduate... Well, everyone is going to graduate in the end, but some are earlier than the others.
Idk how you come to such conclusion, but well, I guess we all know that some of them are in their 30s, and many of them are approaching 30s. Moreover, whether we like to admit it or not, vtuber trend has died down, or at least starting to. Some of the older talent need to prepare themselves. ....tho, tbh, best not to think about it.

It would be a sad year next year then
Next year, maybe others will do sports day. They have Gods and NPCs, of course.
I mean, Ame could do it, she also has some insane organizing skills (half of what Holo Myth did together in their first year all came as a brainchild of Ame) but the question would be "Would Ame even want to organize a Sport Festival?"
So yeah, this might be the end of an era.
Raden's going to be extra sad that she couldn't make it this year.
Is she get caught a cold? No wonder she didnt show up yesterday
@@dimasstrandom6406 I dunno why she couldn't make it, just that they had to find replacements last minute.
@@lostinthemeta9266 Motion sickness, bro.. Motion sickness..
@@adysetyono Did they actually say it was motion sickness somewhere? There's nothing on her twitter, and she seems to have today's scheduled streams.
It's
With large numbers of members and sponsorships there's inevitably going to be members that miss out (there was never a time every single member participated) and Hololive members dont like leaving others out (even if it's not intentional)
Even if extremely busy members like Calli and Suisei can preplan their schedules months in advance, you can't place that expectation on every member.
@@thejamesonthestreet Outside of Japan it may be declining, but not in Japan itself. Even this year it's doing much better than the first 2 years of Sora's debut. V-Tubers are like celebrities there, everywhere we can find places that have V-Tuber trinkets in them. Moreover, being a talent from hololive itself can make them earn money easily. This is a career that is very unfortunate to abandon.
@@thejamesonthestreetyou dont watch the jp do you?
Holojp is killing it they have more viewers than during the pandemic get more sponsor appear in more show, radio have more concert and etc.
Just this summer hololive hosted a game for the baseball team of tokyo and had a collab with the tokyo done theme park.
They just created the second largest 3d studio in japan.
Im sure im leaving even more stuff but Nah the Vtubing hype isnt going down holojp took it and ran it with ever since the covid lockdown.

i think hololive will grow so big worldwide in the future. kinda how i see bts when i first see them
Maaaaan this is like my old workplace. The team consist of only women and they became constantly at each other throat. Then the boss hire a man and all of them getting more calm.....
