- So it's been a good couple months since we have since a Road to 10k episode, why?! whats happened?! Today we quickly recap whats been going on with the cheap bora and why it's been a nightmare getting to this point. We also get the car fixed and pretty much ready to be sold!
So we have installed the power steering line, put everything back together, got all the fluids bled up, had a new battery install and she's all up and running! We have a couple more electrical problems to sort out but it will be for sale in the next episode! See you there!

The power steering fluid should be green hence the green cap I learnt that when I had my bora red ruins the seals

Try and hook up 2 batteries together and then charge them together. It will trick the charger into thinking the dead battery has voltage

Thats the wrong power steering fluid, it will melt the rack seals in no time. Need CHF 11s for the Vw's (Yes its really really important)
for the battery, if you connect the negative to a working charged battery, it can sometimes trick the charger into charging the dead battery

@itsleelockwood I'm not sure about this but I think you can connect the positive to the positive and negative to the negative of a good battery and charge its 12v that way it may charge it or it won't
Done it once on a truck battery but the charger we used costs like 300euro and can start a truck on dead batteries soo idk

Hi Lee I suppose you may or may not read all your comments but regarding battery issues you might want to invest in a NOCO battery booster.. best thing I ever bought👍

To charge that battery you need to link it to a good battery and charge it through that, it will trick you charger into thinking it’s good
Lee if you put some jump leads on the old battery and also your charger it will charge. Its because the voltage is so low the charger doesn't like it bit the battery will change with jump leads and connected to a decent battery for a bit.
You need an old battery charger, the newer ones have all sorts of 'management' and will just cut off, older chargers just push the power, they are hard to find, as people use them for all sorts, de-rusting parts, home finish plating.
The airbag light will most likely be the connection under the seat. The brake pad sensor light if you don't want to repair it just loop it and it will kill the light

Jump the dead battery with a couple of leads off a good battery, attach the charger to it when they are connected together and it should start to give charge, you might be able to get the dead battery to a stage of revival done it many a time
Lee, I think ur aux belt is on the wrong way lad 😂
on the brake pads should be on passenger side only snip the wires that connect to the pads at the pads and join the two wires together tape them up and should knock that light out for the brake pad wear sensor

Unfortunately Lee thats the wrong power steering fluid. It should be green, the red one you put in there is starting to foam.

If you have a car breakers/scrap yard near you, give them a call and ask if they have a battery. Salvage rebuild uk do this, save you some money fella! 💰

I had a similar thing with a dead battery, it was reading only 9.5V on the multimeter - my smart charger assumed that was a fully charger 9V battery so wouldn't touch it. But my old 12V dumb trickle charger didn't care, and put some power into it - once it was around 10.5V my smart rapid charger was happy it was then a flat 12V battery and charged normally
also, cheapest batteries I've found have been from a place called tanya batteries - next day delivery usually aswell

How funny I was just wondering today about what happened to the bora!
Get a spare battery and two sets of jump leads, connect them all up together, when your battery voltage has come up enough you can take tge other battery away
IF YOU CUT THE WIRES FOR THE BRAKE SENSORS AND CONNECT THEM TOGETHER IT'LL GET RID OF THE BRAKE SENSOR WARNINGS FOR YOU
Hopefully you have already realised but the power steering fluid needs to be chf 11s. It needs to be the green mineral type or leaky rack time soon 🤦♂️
