I couldn't help but cry to this, it reminds me of a guy I knew back when I was in highschool....he didn't die or anything, but it's just how close we were, just he got me and I got him and we were inseparable...he was the bestest friend I could have ever asked for, but someone else came into his life, and she convinced him I was trying to manipulate him into being with me, and that wasn't the truth, I wanted him happy, I didn't care if we were dating or whatever his company was enough for me. But what made him drop me like a bad habit was when she tried starting a fight with me in the girls locker room, and I told her how I felt about her and that I was going to tell him what she was doing to me, and to a friend of his who she was fooling around with while with him...and well he believed her over me....and that was the end, and I still can't trust people fully, it's been over 6 years and it still breaks my heart.
Itll be ok hun. Trust takes time to earn to begin with. The strongest of us are the one who went through the most pain and didnt give up. Love will find its way to you again someday

This whole performance was heartbreaking, but the pain in Chris's voice at the end, singing, "I don't hate that I need you," is what really sold me, and brought me to tears. Absolutely heartwrenching.
From the first time i listened to the original, that was the line that got me. Being able to get past anger, and regret, and to the point of saying "I don't hate that I need you" takes a certain amount of self realization and strength. While the rest of the lyrics are absolutely beautiful, it was that line that made me love this song.

I think many that simply adore this beautiful song can definitely relate & why it's so loved! Alot of us are not alone w/that, sad but true.
Its like the video in reverse, relates to him coming back to being where he needs to be after they broke up, and remembering all the times they shared, and in the end they join hands almost as if to say he wants her back, but then they part like it could never happen.
I really feel it when he says "I don't hate that I need you" I completely understand that one.
Kerli came in sounding like a ghost of lovers past and added such a spooky element to this reimagined version of the song. Chris’s voice in this melody was so unique and really nicely woven with the other vocals. Absolutely beautiful perspective!

Now we are friends again, I want to get back together, she doesn’t, cause I need to get her to trust me again, and I tell her that I will gain her trust back, and I’ll do anything so we can get back together, cause she is the love of my life, and I want to spend the rest of it with her by my side.
