Great video. Gate Keeping is destroying the hobby. The older so called 'experts' are shilling their books and products. Anything contrary to this, is perceived as a threat. No water changes could be ok for more experienced keepers. But for newer hobbyists one mistake and they are out of the hobby. You look at all the top tier Taiwanese / Vietnam breeders with hundreds of tanks they are doing weekly water changes for a reason. And they are at least 10 years ahead of everyone else.

A few years back, I decided to take what information has worked for me and learn from my own experiences. Trying different methods (filtration, water changes, feedings, etc.) to learn firsthand what works and does not work. Now I have a solid maintenance schedule and try to share my knowledge in blog posts on my website. I'll probably never have a Facebook group with 50k+ members or have a UA-cam channel with lots of subs, but I hope my blog posts help anyone who is googling what problems they have.

@ We don't own the rights to the paper, but the long and short is too bright a light for prolong period can cause BB to lose their color vs in Darker environment.
Good video. The most important thing, especially for new people to the hobby is to avoid the blatant contradictory videos from the same person. Patience and consistency is the key to shrimp keeping, not contradictory content generated for views
love your videos but seems that each one the sound is lower and lower, my speakers are at 100% and i cant barely hear the voice, any other video on youtube with the volume at 100% and the speakers are blasting. love the content tho, keep up the good work ;)
Another good video.. what Editing software do you use, the audio is very low. You can use davinci resolve, it’s free and it’s great for audio boosting. Great app.
i just downloaded Audacity, tested and simple. but thanks yes, i'll look around for alternative if this one fail. there be a few that is still quite low but not as low but the new ones i'm making will have significant difference, i realize that. When you view it on the phone does it have the same problem?
I bought 10 red galaxy for my first caridina journey,shipping takes 4 days to get to my adress and they all die during time in shipping...its make me down for 1-2 days..then after a weeks i contact again the seller make another attemp to shipping again to my place also we try to develope how can caridina shrimp survive in 2-4 days during shipping..now we try with double small icepack rapping with wet towel inside polyform box...now im waiting my shrimp in shipping..as hobies i never giveup for this..😂😂last option i need to travel to the shop derectly 😅
At one point i considered Willis Lin as a good member of the community until he took over RareShrimp. At one point prior to his direct involvement I was seeking some sort of partnership with RareShrimp, then we he took over I even defended him at one point. Then everything went to hell. Shady business practices as you pointed out, which have affected my reputation and my business reputation. Despite my distancing from Willis and the RareShrimp team, my previous defense of him has followed me. Obviously wish i could take that back had i known thats ehat their business plan was. And why would you think all no water change advocates are misleading? The loudest mouths are often the most misleading. So yes, I do get where you are coming from. But to classify all people with no waterchanges as people who lack transparency is ridiculous, it just shows both sides have adamant mindsets with no possibility of change. I run no water change tanks, I advocate for them too, and I also have nothing to profit from doing this. I don't sell anything, I'm not an influencer and yet I stand by it. But it's also important to understand the limitations of such methods. If you are breeding sensitive very high grade shrimp or looking to be competition ready, yes, do all the water changes you want. In fact, I think water changes is rather beneficial. But if set up correctly, they become negligible and only need to be done far less often. I run my tanks with a crap load of plants and use riparium concepts by having house plants in my tank as well, my parameters are always in control. I think people trying to make it like a fight is only going to divide hobbyists further, just understand and know that on both camps, there are always extremists and misguided information.

Embracing diverse viewpoints is healthy and invaluable, but censoring one side equates to collusion aimed at asserting superiority over the other. We welcome open discussions and varying opinions, yet many before us have been silenced-not just on the topic of water changes, but on broader issues. It’s crucial to give voice to those fallen hobbyists, to acknowledge the silence left in their absence, and to reflect on what is lost when perspectives are dismissed. Their experiences hold lessons, their viewpoints hold value, and their struggles remind us that progress comes not from agreement, but from understanding.

@@calvite100 sorry let me refrase that its not all people who dont do waterchange infact i have nothing against your method of breeding shrimp its that little handful including one of the influencers there is trying hard to push it on people an other guys on social media there kinda mock people who do waterchange ,an if you say something you get banned personally i dont care if i get banned from those people but newer people to the hobby can get the wrong impression an just leave the hobby with a bad experience an that s not fair i think.

It seems phone works better the audio and on my laptop the sound is soft. I will look at downloading a new software for the voice recording.
