  • As someone who has called myself a Christian for my entire life, I no longer call myself a Christian. It's most likely not the reason you expect, but it's a reason you want to listen to. It may change your perspective in the best way.
    I am far from perfect, this I know.
    Hi! My name is Janae and I’m a wife, mama to two, and a full time stay at home mom, homemaker and business owner. The goal with my content is to help you enjoy homemaking and embrace the calling the Lord has upon your life, as a women of God who strives to raise up your children in the ways of the Lord. And of course, cultivating a Christ centered home your husband (if you have one) is eager to come home to.
    I share tips, recipes, and daily life experiences to inspire and uplift you on this beautiful journey. Whether it's through organizing your home, finding joy in the little moments, or incorporating faith-based practices into your daily routine, I strive to provide content that resonates with your heart. Join me as we navigate the challenges and celebrate the triumphs of homemaking and motherhood together, always keeping our eyes fixed on the greater purpose the Lord has set before us.

      @@ahomemakersnotebookI hate to tell you this but you are not right. The Bible teaches we are to have fellowship with one another. And the Bible clearly defines what that is. It's a local assembly presided over by elders and leaders. It's an assembly where there is communal worship, prayer and communion. It's a local fellowship where people encourage one another, bear each others burdens, exhort one another. It's a local fellowship where there is correction of one another and where collections are taken.
      Yes, as a Christian God's Spirit is in you. But that doesn't negate the local assembly as defined by the scriptures.

      @@tomy8339 Hey there 👋🏽 respectfully, I don’t see the part where you say I’m wrong? All I responded that she is correct with saying Christ lives inside of us if we allow him 😊
      Tomy, I believe you’re coming from a good place in your heart with this comment, however some things are better left for God to convict since this is a platform where we can’t directly respond to comments with a video, text can often be hard to communicate such a complex topic.
      Also, fellowship with one another that still glorifies God and honors his word could look differently. It could be inside one’s home. No where in the Bible does it say we must attend a specific building to glorify God. Oftentimes we take one part of scripture and neglect the rest. The Bible is a complete work, we must take every scripture into account. Therefore, we must be slow to jump to conclusions, for judgment is the Lords.
      There is much that could be said on this topic. We don’t know everyone’s full story, and often much details are left out.
      My goal and conviction on this platform is not to condemn anyone or say “you’re doing it wrong” or bash them for not fulfilling a part of scripture. If someone said something completely out of line with the Bible, I would respond with scripture, but oftentimes conviction is for the Lord to give, not me.
      “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
      1 Thessalonians 5:11
      The Bible does say go and preach the gospel.. and that is what my goal is with the knowledge and conviction I have.
      God bless ❤️

    Thanks for sharing your walk with us, Janae! I still call myself Christian but I think follower of Jesus/ Bible-believer is a bit more accurate. I've definitely seen some wild things by "Christians" but when they're asked about their actual beliefs, it is not anything Christ-like. It's a little cringe to be seen as the same category as that lol.

    I love this. I heard recently, “If you never told anyone you were a Christian, would they know?” That was so convicting. Without the graphic tees with scripture, the scripture hanging from my rear view mirror… how would they know? It needs to be known through our actions.

    I live in a place with majority Mormon who identify as Christian. They also call themselves disciples of Christ, brothers and sisters too. Trying to find a word that can also differentiate myself from Mormonism too.

    I am a pastor and I am not perfect by any means but I try my best to do the right thing and most of the time it is in opposition of the world and even my denomination. I don't like the word Christian because it comes with a million negative connotations. However, I call myself a follower of Jesus Christ. So, I hear you. And thank God....not all pastors think the way that, that pastor thinks about living on the edge of sin. NO WAY. Not good enough. Every single day we should try to be what Christ wants us to be no matter what the world tells us or even curses us for it. Stand firm in Jesus.

    I agree with this message. I call myself a Christian (and a 'Christian Homemaker') just so people know what my belief system is, but I don't actually resonate with the label 'Christian' (but for a different reason- the religion of Christianity arguably isn't even in the Bible- it was created by the Catholic church- that's another story, though!). Most churches are like you said- a 'show', entertainment centres. The pastors that are put on a pedal stool in our generation (the mega pastors) are usually poor examples of what a true Christian should be... Great video and great conversation opener.

    • @ahomemakersnotebook
      @ahomemakersnotebook  Місяць тому

      Yes! It’s so sad honestly how most mega churches operate and teach. Many of the messages sound really good, but thats not the goal. The goal isn’t to “sound good” everything in the Bible doesn’t “sound good” to us. It’s supposed to transform us from the inside out. Not make us feel great about ourselves and walk in and out of church weekly feeling like we’re a “good person so we’re good” .. anyways 😅Yes, a good conversation starter for sure ❤️
      Thank you so much 😊

    This is very validating for me. I’ve been calling myself deist lately ; which means I believe in God but I don’t follow religion. Spirituality became toxic so I dropped that too. Even though I do believe in God , I don’t judge others who don’t or believe in Hinduism , Buddhism or something completely different , if you study their religion and teachings they also have a point which I’ve always admired and added into my daily life. My family is very diverse so I’ve been exposed to Islam , Buddhism , Taoism and Christianity. I never really liked the church vibe - I’ve always felt judged even though I was quiet and just observed. As long as people have a relationship with an all loving omnipresence & live a life with love in their heart , I believe that’s what truly matters.

    • @ahomemakersnotebook
      @ahomemakersnotebook  Місяць тому +2

      I’m glad this resonated with you!
      I will say the judgment you felt, you’re not alone & that’s not from God. I’m sorry you went through that. Finding a good Christ centered church can be difficult. ❤️
      I did want to note, two scripture passages from the Bible..
      ‘Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
      “For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth-as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”- yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.”
      According to the Bible, believing in a higher being and living a ‘good’ life isn’t enough. To get to heaven, and have true relationship with God, our creator, that can only be done through Christ Jesus alone.
      🫶🏽

    Hi dear, your videos have been wonderful since you’ve returned. Hope you’re enjoying the process more 🤎🧺
    When I’m speaking with others, I simply say “born-again believer” Without the spirit of Christ, our lives will be no different from anyone else’s. It’s truly Christ Jesus who makes all of the changes. For anyone reading, here are a few scriptures to reference if you’d like: John 3:5-8, Matthew 7:21-23
