I am really tired of glib statements by pastors and teachers about not getting answers to prayer. There are people for whom their prayers are absolutely desperate and being told "no" or "wait" can be worse than crushing to those who are at the very end of their ropes, whose faith is hanging by a thread. Such glibness is completely inadequate.
@@dooglitas so God never says no or wait? And if He does are you going to tell Him His answer was glib?
@@TheTruthAboutGodBarryStagner I don't deny that God seems to give us those answers, but the glibness is how people so flippantly say it, not considering the desperation that many people have. Being told "no" or "wait" for some people is like being stabbed in the heart. Apparently you have never been in such a situation. Many, many people have lost their faith over this issue. Personally I am hanging on by a thread. I have been saved for 67 years. God has not answered very desperate prayers for me for 3 decades. His silence is deafening. I am at the door of destruction, and God is silent no matter how much I pray and weep. I am having an extremely difficult time continuing to believe that God truly loves me. He has forgotten me.
@@TheTruthAboutGodBarryStagner One other thing: Jesus promised that if we ask anything in His name it will be given to us. How does that fit with the idea that God says "no"?
Explain to me how God's love is manifested by God promising His beloved children that they will suffer? What loving earthly father would purposely allow their children to suffer things such as rape, homelessness, wrongful imprisonment, hunger, etc? I have read scripture for decades. I cannot find anywhere in scripture where this question is answered.
